With a 3-0 performance tonight, the West continues its dominance over the season series.

The West‘s 81% winning percentage against the east is the highest it’s ever been in history.

The west has won the head-to-head battle with the east in 24 of the last 27 seasons

Season H2H stats

Currently the Pacers are doing the heavy lifting for the East with 2 wins against the West with victories over the Grizzlies and Pelicans.

The Cavs have 1 OT win over the Timberwolves, and depending on who you ask, it was a controversial win that should have ended in regulation.

The Heat managed a 1-point overtime win over the Clippers with a Klay Thompson game winner

The Raptors also have 1 win over the Clippers.

Note: Many of the East best teams have yet to play a West opponent, meaning this record is likely to balance.… maybe.

We had to play the Spurs on the second part of a travel b2b while they had rested for three days.

I don’t know who makes this schedule but they suck at it.

“Many of the East best teams have yet to play a West opponent…”

Feelscreative101

That line completely ruins the stat and argument lmao. Further extrapolating, mostly the bottom end of the East has played the West so far.

feels like every year the west 8th seed could be like 4th in the east

joorral

4 | 6 hours ago

It was not the case last season. Both 8th seeds in both conferences was 45-37. The difference is 9th/10th in the east had 500+ records then the west who were below 500

People have been trying to make the east be better than the west for a while now

Still not the case

tornait-hashu

2 | 9 hours ago

East is also very top-heavy, all the top talent is extremely concentrated in maybe five teams, and all the rest are perennial lottery chasers who can’t develop the draft picks that they do get and end up sending them to other teams where they immediately perform better.

Sweaty_Brother_34

So much for the East being better than the West now

East vs West don’t matter til June

Calinks

-2 | 9 hours ago

At season start they were talking about how the east was really dangerous now. The west is a Pitt of flames man.

tornait-hashu

3 | 9 hours ago

The East is dangerous though, if you’re a draft pick

Pray to any deity of your choice that they don’t send you to Charlotte or Washington

CoogiMonster

I mean it will balance more but it could be really high. The East looks weaker at their apex ranks while a lot of the middle/playoff guys improved.

Some also are very unorganized, the alarm bells should be blaring for the Cavs even without Allen. Knicks should also be panicking too because I think their problems (including KAT and Hart contracts) don’t make the year go smoother.

There’s also just some bad reads on the tea leaves - I for one anticipated a more involved Kawhi out the gate as he was a top 10 or 15 guy last year. The Heat one is where I figured they’d be but I know it’s not for some. The Pacers are a few spot lower than I expected, but highly benefitted getting to beat up on those West opponents or this split would be worse.

Idk the tables are starting to shape up though into ones that make a lot of sense and reflect the teams playing good basketball right now.

joorral

Knicks just won 4 of 5 and have an easy Nov schedule with teams also missing star players. Would not be surprised if they are the number 1 seed this month.

Toronto is missing KL and the pacers was decimated with injuries and still don’t have hali. Not sure why you left that out

gradedonacurve

1 | 5 hours ago

He left that out because it doesn’t fit his priors. The KAT thing being the Knicks issue is hilarious because he’s easily been the best Knick over the first 9 games lmao.

Oh also when you look at who has played the interconfertnce games so far the record makes a bit more sense. The best 4 teams in the East have a total 1 game vs the West and it was the Celtics playing the Rockets in Houston on night 2 of a back to back.

Nba wants league to seem more competitive than it is in reality one way to do that is through scheduling

joorral

Are we doing this everyday the west beats up on the lower teams of the east?

The West currently has a 21-5 record against the East
