And my disgusting owner doesn’t want to pay him
He’s so obviously using the second apron as an excuse for being a cheapskate when the Knicks literally didn’t need to make any moves
I hate Dolan as much as the next guy but the 2nd apron is legitimately financially prohibitive and also constrains your team in a ton of ways outside of paying more salary.
The Knicks have never pulled in more revenue than right now. Look at the Warriors. You keep that team together, and will more than recoup the 20-30 million cost. Now, if it gets to the draft pick situation, that’s different.
Thinking it’s about the tax bill shows you don’t know anything about the apron penalties
The 2nd apron has a ton of constraints outside of money. Please look into it. It’s a death sentence for team building
He’s so obviously using the second apron as an excuse for being a cheapskate
Dolan is obviously historically a horrendous owner for the most part but you could never really accuse him of being cheap outside of maybe Jeremy Lin. Traditionally he’d just tie the Knicks up with awful expensive contracts
It sucks, but I’d have thought Knicks fans who’ve been there for a while might appreciate seeing Dolan show some understanding of how crippling the 2nd apron is.
How is it crippling for us when we can keep the entire team together for the foreseeable future as long as Dolan pays up? Who cares about picks after this core is done with? Who needs trades when you have a deep and dedicated roster? We should’ve kept Mitch too.
Dolan has never spent deep into the luxury tax, he’s just made big splash signings. What would be crippling to this team is losing Towns or OG.
They should be riding this core until the wheels fall off.
He will get extended. Will be 230-240. Just a matter of time.
Yep, I concur
BIG BODEGA
Daaaaaayum
KAT lost some weight in the offseason and he looks so spry. Haven’t noticed it impact his defense or rebounding at all’s
This dude should be averaging 25-30 a night. I just don’t understand why he’s not aggressive like this all the time man. He’s strong as fuck and has lowkey bunnies.
I think he genuinely likes facilitating more than scoring.
He’s also his own worst enemy for staying on the floor with silly fouls.
If he was this aggressive all the time, he’d be averaging 7 fouls a game and the defense would tank. His role is perfect as it is
As a Knicks fan it’s not him trust it’s the mike brown system.
I mean I can’t really say anything bad about Mike Brown. He helped the Knicks get a chip. But it’s just weird KAT can’t be this aggressive more. He’s too strong to not be bullying players and putting them in the basket.
It’s not Mike browns system, he gets himself in foul trouble and spends time on the bench.
Its absolutely both the reasons you listed and Brown’s system. Obviously it won a title. I still think it can be tweaked this year to get KAT scoring more again.
Too many games where he has only 10 FGA.
Yeah this is nothing new when it comes to KAT. People always want him to be more aggressive and put up more shots since he’s so efficient but he simply doesn’t stay on the floor enough to consistently get up high volume attempts. Its also just not in his nature to hunt for his own shot on an every game basis.
He never really bullied guys. Even in Minnesota.
You would have small guys guarding him in the post and he couldn’t back them down and would settle for a fadeaway or a tough shot instead
Maybe because he’s not the offensive focal point, not many second- or third-option players average 25 ppg.
Ight
cuz he would foul out every game, he is not good at avoiding whistles
Wtf
Looked like an Isaiah Ryder dunk
Shout out to the fuckin NY Mets there too
Yes
Dang
He loves it when a slow footed big dares to guard him
