“LeBron James’ First NBA Game” is the most viewed video on The Sacramento Kings’ official Youtube channel
https://www.youtube.com/@SacramentoKings/videos
not to dunk on the Kings but i thought this was pretty funny
The Kings current head coach, Doug Christie, was also a player in Lebron’s first game, lmfao.
LeBron also played against Jabari Smith Sr. in this game, then against his son like 20 years later lol
Here’s Jabari Smith Jr telling LeBron about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_ruoBSmRzY
What makes it even crazier is smith jr has now been in the league for 5 years. So it is not that lebron just barely overlapped with both.
And LeBron beat him in a playoff series lol
What makes it even crazier is smith jr now has a kid.
So LeBron just needs to make it another 17 or so seasons and he could play against three generations of the same family. Should be doable at his current rate
Edit - the timing is kind of wild. Smith junior was born 5 months before LeBron’s first game, has now grown up and made it 5 years into the league, just had a kid in spring as well, and LeBron is still going. Generational player indeed
There are 12 father-son duos he has played against (so far).
Glenn Robinson / Glenn Robinson III
Rick Brunson / Jalen Brunson
Gary Trent / Gary Trent Jr.
Kenyon Martin / Kenyon Martin Jr.
Gary Payton / Gary Payton II
Samaki Walker / Jabari Walker
Adrian Griffin / AJ Griffin
Jabari Smith / Jabari Smith Jr.
Juwan Howard / Jett Howard
Dale Davis / Trayce Jackson-Davis
Jason Richardson / Jase Richardson
Anthony Carter / Devin Carter
It’s been put so many ways but here’s another! The median age of NBA players is 25. The majority of the league grew up with LeBron pro posters on their wall, and now they’re playing with him, and he’s not just still around, he’s still him.
The King’s first game was against the Kings wow
It was written
LeDestiny
Bron is still on the first page
King on Kings crime
The king is dead, long live the king.
LeKing of Kings
LeShahanshah
LeKing that was LePromised
LeShahJahan
We have a winning record against him
Regular season or playoffs?
In my heart
They’re .500 in the playoffs tho
Actually 30-18 to LeGoat if anyone was wondering
I was lying 🤥
LeKing of Kings except for Sacramento Kings
LePersia?
LeCyrus
Oh okay so he is the Tripple H of NBA
LeSitcom
They lost that game
LeHHH
Bow down to the, bow down to LeKing
He has played in 302 NBA playoff games. The Sacramento Kings? 83.
It’s to honor A’ja Wilson’s boyfriend
I didn’t know Savannah James’ husband played basketball
Not for long if Bam keeps playing like this…
The King’s playoff games should also count for the Kings
Paying tribute to Bam
LeBron is insane man what a career and he’s not even done
I remember that game. Back when the Kings were considered a legit primetime team.
This was during the time they were making the Western conference semis every year
I get an annual semi as well.
I misread your comment and teed up rebuttal that doesn’t make sense any more.
But it’s still a pretty fun fact: the kings have made the conference finals once since moving to Sacramento.
Which is STILL more recent than the 76ers.
by one year though, so not a big gap
We were bonafide contenders believe it or not, and the favorite in 2003 to win it all. It really looked like they were gonna do it too until Webber’s knee gave out against the Mavs, and since then the only rings we’re chasing are the circles of Basketball Hell
You gotta appreciate that an official NBA team has a Youtube channel with hundreds of thousands of subscribers, and their most recent video from more than a week ago has 724 views. There’s Westbrook montage from 6 months ago with 603 views. Incredible inability to manage a youtube channel
That’s actually insane, lol. And somebody is getting paid for that!
This is the Kings and they are really bad right now, and I think most teams just generally don’t get a lot of views on YT. I think it’s just one of those things where people get this kind of content from somewhere else. Like I used to listen to podcasts on YT a lot and even really popular pods would barely have any views on there.
You’d be surprised at what videos are some of the most popular on each team’s channel (and how low the views are on a lot of them).
yeah, people mention this as a fun fact a lot, but NBA teams are not youtubers. not really that interesting
Who mentions this a lot lol
I’m so sick and tired of the constant posts saying that nba teams are YouTubers.
very few people mention it a lot, but lots of people mention it once, after they hear about it.
edit: referring to the Sacramento Kings factoid, not that NBA teams are not youtubers
The kaiser permanente kid dunk contest is coming up quick though
Isaiah was robbed smh
Travesty that one of the leagues most shameful moments is nearly number 1. We need to boost the Peja pass.
Also broke the most minutes played in NBA history against the Kings
It’s like when the Heat retired Michael Jordans number
To be fair, this is the most viewed video on the hawks channel
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy7g-ljIgdQ
Why you gotta flame us today
Tbh a video titled that would be the most viewed video on any NBA channel minus probably the Lakers
King of Kings literally
Last time the Kings were a legitimate contender too
Can y’all just leave the kings alone lol. Feel like they’re the punching bag of the league this year. I mean I know they’re always bad but the pile on seems a lot more this year.
oldest videos they picked tyreke but worked out dame, jrue dang
Vividly remember watching that game. It was a midweek, Wednesday school night.
hey quick question, prostate exams, not as bad as I imagine right?
they don’t even need to stick their thumb in your butt anymore, although i could understand if that’s your kink since you’re a celtics fan
This…..why would you waste a clear weekly (if not monthly) top post for off-season shitpostery?
I respect it, all the same
Man Kings never gonna catch a break
Gotta feel bad for the youtube channel’s mod
That’d probably be the case for any franchise except maybe LA, Philly, Chicago, & Bos.
It was a pretty good SAC game. Highlights just also included a kid getting his first few buckets
Mike Bibby says that for the commercial that came out before the start of the season (I forget what company), they wanted to show Lebron blowing by Bibby and dunking. Bibby said no.
