Definitely biggest parts of it, though today was another.

Hes +2.1 in BPM which is the best of all rookies so far and much more indicative than raw +/-. I wouldn’t worry about his +/- impact

Steph on, Yaxel off: +24

Both on: -8

This is a huge part of it. Steph’s lineups without Yaxel absolutely fry. Steph’s lineups with Yaxel are big negatives.

Early season and small samples, but yeah.

Not a single conclusion drawn in the comment you read.

In fact, if you made it to the end:

Early though so we’ll see!

I don’t know for sure, let me look at examples

Steph had a -0.6 on/off in 2024 (but if you remove garbage time I’ve heard people say it was positive). He’s fringe through 16 full seasons - never close to negative otherwise.

LeBron maintained it in ²²⁄₂₃ seasons with the sole exception of 2025 at age 40.

CP3 is ¹⁹⁄₂₁. Negative in his rookie season (-0.6 so barely) and final season (-18.3).

Jokic is ¹¹⁄₁₁ thus far.

Embiid is ¹⁰⁄₁₀ thus far.

Shai can’t do it because of his rookie season, so ⁷⁄₈.

Garnett was ¹⁹⁄₂₀ (-1.2 in age 37 season)

Dame ¹²⁄₁₃, missed it in 2025 (-4.1)

Kawhi ¹³⁄₁₄, missed his rookie season (-4.6)

Duncan was ¹⁸⁄₁₉, missed in age 37 season (-3.2)

Gobert ¹²⁄₁₃

Manu ¹⁴⁄₁₆

Giannis ¹²⁄₁₃

A few more names I didn’t list bc they weren’t close (Kobe, KD, …)

So technically I didn’t find anybody who has never done it in a full career, somebody may have though. Most common for an all-time great is that you are one or two short, usually a late season. So Butler’s pace isn’t rare but it’d be impressive if he retires with it in tact.

I think they interpreted your comment as, “He’s Jimmy Butler, but a winning player” as opposed to “He’s Jimmy Butler, who is a winning player.”

lol, yeah I misread that my bad. I interpreted that as “but” a winning player

His actual peak was literally during the NBA Finals, you could not script it any better lmao

Ok, I was a little hyperbolic. A lot of NBA players have long wingspan but he has the same wingspan as Giannis while being 2 inches shorter. Also his height/wingspan doppelganger is Pascal Siakam at 6’9 and 73”. Good size company for his skillset.

Forreal, definitely got the rookie whistle… and it being called for those weak ass foul seem to take him out of rhythm

okay, that’s cool. a lot of experts and polling also thought dallas would beat the celtics.

tends to be driven by emotions and narratives.

but good thing we have the facts that tell us that the Warriors were favorites in the 2022 Finals. far more informative insight than “um ask the fans!”

I have no idea. But anyway, I don’t know why people are so obsessed with using worse sources for predictions.

We have the best one! Sportsbook odds! they’re more accurate than anything else you want to present, including ESPN. So why use ESPN when you know it’s less accurate? Because its answer is the one you want? Extremely perplexing

Poole was the 28th pick, my guy…

If they’re calling Poole a great pick it’s likely based on his contributions for Golden State, which included being instrumental for a championship
