Still can’t believe that call prior to overtime – “We called a foul, however… we’re still calling a foul.” - Referees

The Miami Heat defeat the Los Angeles Garlands 10-9 in overtime on a last second Klay Thompson game winning three.

YouStillTakeDamage

104 | 6 hours ago

Objectively, “the challenge is successful, however” is one of the funniest bits refs can do.

AngleProlapse

19 | 6 hours ago

He paused to let the crowd react and boo before dropping the “…however” too lol

EthicalBballFan

5 | 5 hours ago

He paused to let the crowd react and boo before dropping the “…however” too lol

Or maybe he was just taken aback from the loud cheering when he said it was successful. Half the attendees were there for Klay.

YouStillTakeDamage

3 | 6 hours ago

Excellent comedic timing

InTheMorning_Nightss

21 | 6 hours ago

Garland is basically the only reason the game was in OT (in a bad way). He’s been an absolute terrorist to close out our games.

Soggy_Mud_3227

6 | 5 hours ago

First Clippers game I’ve watched so far but yeah Garland out here committing basketball ⁹⁄₁₁; dude out here playing 0 iq CTE basketball it’s actually nausea inducing. Makes a fucking crazy ass shot then will immediately turn the ball over like 3 times like wtf

InTheMorning_Nightss

4 | 5 hours ago

I’ve watched some awful players in my 20 years of LAC fandom, and Garland is up there with one of my least favorites. I watched Baron Davis come in like 20 lbs overweight and play like garbage, but I’d still rather have him than Garland.

What Garland has been doing out there is insanely unacceptable.

Brxa

1 | an hour ago

Fat Baron still had that moxie.

drpepper7557

1 | 5 hours ago

Garland broke our backs on every run with 40 ft yolo 3s. He was hitting prime Dame shots every time he needed to. If it werent for him, it wouldn’t’ve been a game in the first place.

InTheMorning_Nightss

10 | 5 hours ago

Uh, he made 4 total 3s.

He was -16. Yall made your run in the 3rd when he was in. When it was close, he started turning it over.

He was not good

Clipgang1629

6 | 4 hours ago

Terrible defense and stupid turnovers idk how you could think he was good tn

F______________F

10 | 6 hours ago

Genuinely one of more baffling ref decisions in a while. If it’s not a block, then it’s a charge. The Bam foul happened after that so it never should have been reversed to him.

Kzgoated

55 | 6 hours ago

Worse timeout call I’ve ever seen in my life by Ty Lue tonight, they were on a 29-6 run in the second quarter their players could just not miss a shot from anywhere and Ty lue called a timeout and disrupted his own teams momentum. Made no sense.

Jimmy0034

18 | 6 hours ago

Nothing he does make no sense but he is protected from clippers front office, owner and beat writers because they like him.

journieburner

8 | 4 hours ago

Ty Lue’s reputation swings in a weird way. At first, it was just Lebron doing the coaching, then he sort of recovered as a Clippers coach when he made them get to the conference finals without Kawhi, and since then it’s been getting worse and worse again

drpepper7557

5 | 5 hours ago

Did you consider the fact that if they max out their heat gauge they wouldnt be able to use an ability for 60 seconds?

AshenSacrifice

2 | 4 hours ago

He’s tanking the season on purpose and trying to ruin keatons career. I hate him

No-Alternative2897

94 | 6 hours ago

Brook lopez scoring 20 against a Giannis Bam front court in 2026.

RxJax

16 | 6 hours ago

Lopez has spent 8 years scoring easily against us because he never has to score on our frontcourt, I’ve been watching him post up guys like Derrick Jones Jr, Jaquez, Robinson, Highsmith and now Klay & Pelle. All cause Spo absolutely loves trapping guards and asking wings to help from the corner against 7 footers

Charlie_Wax

36 | 6 hours ago

First ballot Hall of Very Good.

ChiloMcBilo

5 | 6 hours ago

That’s Nets all time leading scorer Brook Lopez to you

MySilverBurrito

64 | 6 hours ago

Spo ATOs will never get old for me because how tf did Klay have so much time there lol

40866892

50 | 6 hours ago

before OT Spo burned a timeout just to scout Clipper’s counter so he could counter it with his final timeout. Bam ended up getting a wide open jump shot that could have been a great game winner.

Spo is a goat.

sloshspice25

7 | 5 hours ago

Man, I noticed that too. I found it weird that the heat didn’t look like they were rushing that play, but Spo was just being big brained.

I was beginning to doubt Spo this season because the Heat’s defense has been so bad, but this game you can see how he’s still top tier.

MySilverBurrito

6 | 5 hours ago

People in our sub are calling for his head already lmao.

YouStillTakeDamage

4 | 5 hours ago

I unsubbed from the heat sub years ago because it’s just nauseating

skuiji

51 | 6 hours ago

Klay saw the clippers and turned back into a golden state warrior 😂

Lem_201

36 | 6 hours ago

Jesus Christ Wiggins is so fucking terrible right now, thanks god Klay reversed a clock for a bit.

Seref15

5 | 6 hours ago

Before the season people were debating putting Pelle in over Klay in the starting lineup. Fuck that, bench Wiggins.

zmartins222

3 | 5 hours ago

We are a +9.3 with Wiggins off. Dude has been actively sabotaging like fr lmao

InTheMorning_Nightss

25 | 6 hours ago

I know we just have a shit roster, but you really can’t convince me that Ty Lue isn’t just completely sending it in.

Wagler has had some rough games. Tonight wasn’t one of them. And yet this was the fewest minutes he’s gotten all fucking season. 16 minutes when he’s playing well and a team leading +15 is fucking unreal.

Garland continues to shit the bed in the 4th. I can understand that he’s the closer, but uh, why in the world are we putting him in for basically all of the 4th (at the cost of Wagler minutes).

The defense on those final plays were insanely bad. A wide open inbound pass and shot BOTH times. Oh and DJJ not in on the final play in OT for defense? Like what the fuck are you thinking?

This team just doesn’t know how to win at all. If we can’t beat a team with as bad of vibes as Miami when we were up 20? Yeah idk what to say. I don’t even care that we’re bad. That was always to be expected. But if we’re gonna be 1-7, there’s no reason that Wagler should be getting 16 MPG and like 5-6 shots.

Jimmy0034

15 | 6 hours ago

Just wait till Ty Lue get BI and Beal lol

InTheMorning_Nightss

7 | 6 hours ago

Yep. Wagler is gonna be an afterthought.

We may as well have traded back with GSW or the Bucks and taken Yax if we were just going to develop our players like this.

Jimmy0034

4 | 5 hours ago

Not just Wagler, Sanders too. Baba Miller had two great blocks on giannis and he literally set him on the bench after that.

InTheMorning_Nightss

3 | 5 hours ago

I have been on the boat that Baba has looked bad pretty much every minute he’s gotten. But he looked good tonight! He needed more minutes along with Wagler, but apparently Ty Lue didn’t feel like that and instead trust his gut that lost a 20 point lead in the 2nd half.

penpen35

1 | an hour ago

To sound hopelessly optimistic I’m chalking it up to another Ty Lue ExperimentTM and cover my eyes on what’s going on with the team

Maybe by game 20 Wagler will play 35 minutes a game in another experiment

Rook2Rook

16 | 6 hours ago

Phew. This was a close one. Miami REALLY needed this one. Would’ve been very hard to come back from 2-6. Can’t blow games against bottom feeders.

Jimmy0034

8 | 6 hours ago

The fifth pick overall played 16 minutes in OT game, Clippers average age in 4th qrt and OT was over 30 years old. We dont win basketball games (it doesnt matter if they did) and we dont develop young players.

Seref15

8 | 6 hours ago

Wiggins has been kinda washed on both ends. He got benched for nearly the whole second half.

Simone Fontecchio -19 in 5 minutes, thats like a trophy unlock

bignedmoyle

44 | 6 hours ago

³⁵⁄₁₀ from Bam, 30 from Klay, and ²⁷⁄₁₄ from Giannis and it took a Klay Thompson 3 in overtime to beat the 1-6 clippers. Wow ✌️

informalagreement

15 | 6 hours ago

Spo’s been letting em overhelp like crazy the past few years giving up a million wide open 3s. Absolute agony. Sorry that you still have to watch Kyle Kuzma, no one deserves that

bignedmoyle

2 | 6 hours ago

Eh, we are ass anyway with or without Kuzma and he doesn’t really change anything about our team good or bad. So it is so easy to ignore him.

cl353

4 | 5 hours ago

wat im really sorry about is having to watch ware be great for some games and be ass for others. i was losing my mind cuz hes so good and unique when hes on

informalagreement

3 | 5 hours ago

Lost em the game today, just not a pleasant player to watch. Garbage person too

bignedmoyle

2 | 5 hours ago

Absolutely did not lose us the game today. Be serious. I know you’re salty your team is trash but he is not the reason we are losing. He is a bad person, I am not contesting that at all.

Smokin_on_76ers_Pack

10 | 6 hours ago

Wiggins scored 3 lol

bignedmoyle

-1 | 6 hours ago

Miami got some palm trees and cool vibes.

Exzibit21

3 | 6 hours ago

I know I’m delusional but I think we’re better than our record shows, and we’re still missing key pieces

But yes I’m probably delusional

schoolhater12

12 | 6 hours ago

Garland had such a hilarous clutch time performance. On one hand, he made pretty much every shot he took. On the other hand, he has like 4 key turnovers that lead to the Miami comeback in the first place, not to mention the 3 seperate grenades he threw to Rui which lead to terrible shots/no shots. hilarous player

MySilverBurrito

8 | 6 hours ago

Those TOs were courtesy of Davion lol. Like 3 in a row? But fuckkkk Garland deep 3s man.

InTheMorning_Nightss

5 | 6 hours ago

You could have had Trae Young guarding him and he would have turned it over 3 times in a row. He’s been fucking unacceptably bad in the 4th and his go to move is just turning it over.

Otternomaly

1 | 6 hours ago

For every turnover there were like 3 more loose balls where he managed to get it back. Legitimately felt like every drive he was guaranteed to lose the handle, never seen anything like it

InTheMorning_Nightss

2 | 5 hours ago

I knew his handle was loose, but not this bad. There’s really no reason he should be closing outside of his name. But he literally doesn’t do anything good except occasionally hitting deep 3s in the 4th.

He obviously stepped up in OT, and it was in large part because we stopped playing through him and he was more off ball.

MySilverBurrito

1 | 5 hours ago

I don’t watch him enough but that push dribble man is such easy pickings.

InTheMorning_Nightss

2 | 5 hours ago

He also just makes moves without a clear understanding of what he is planning. You watch other PGs who I previously had in his same tier like Trae Young or Ja, and it’s clear that they create an advantage with some semblance of a plan. They’ll collapse the defense and fire out a pass. Or the defense doesn’t collapse, so they take it all the way.

Yeah Garland does that far, far less than he should. He is frequently caught dribbling into a packed paint, or jumping with the ball without a pass recipient in mind, etc. Combine that with his loose handle, and it’s just horrendous.

I didn’t manage to catch this game at all, but how the hell was Fonteccio a -19 in just 5 minutes??

bhris_cratt321

8 | 6 hours ago

2nd quarter run Clippers were making everything. Something like a 30-4 run

sloshspice25

5 | 6 hours ago

The clippers had a 43 point 2nd quarter, and Fonteccio in that quarter, who’s job is to make threes, shot a wide open 3 that airballed about 2 feet to the left.

Tall-Dot-607

sloshspice25

3 | 6 hours ago

The defense in the 4th quarter by miami was pretty good. But would have been better if their defense wasn’t horrendous in the 2nd lol

Watching the game, I can totally see the adjustments by both coaches.

When davion tried to go through a screen in a Garland Brook pick and roll, it resulted in a wide open brook 3, so then on, all pick and rolls were switched.

When Garland was being completely shutdown and even giving turnovers, they started to screen Davion away from garland knowing miami will switch, resulting in garland’s biggest shots against players not davion.

bhris_cratt321

2 | 5 hours ago

Good observations! Davion was causing hell at the point of attack. I think Miami adjusted well to the switches by really sinking from the corners to collapse on Garland’s drives. It helps Miami that Garland has not been a good decision-maker this year and he wasn’t tonight.

WhenItsHalfPastFive

3 | 6 hours ago

This game made me miss Klay in the bay man. top 3 shooter all time. You can never say a Klay shot is 100% gonna miss. I will always believe anything he puts up is a decent shot.

Come back to the bay bro, what the hell were you doing in Dallas, and what the hell are you doing in Miami.

blackwolfgoogol

10 | 6 hours ago

The Clippers fouled themself into a loss the second game in a row LMAOOOOOO

Specialist_Office274

4 | 6 hours ago

They didn’t lose cuz of a foul this game

blackwolfgoogol

-3 | 6 hours ago

Strus fouled Giannis’ defensive rebound with 3.3 seconds on the clock, which allowed him to go full-court (after a time-out) and pass to Klay for that 3.

Specialist_Office274

4 | 5 hours ago

They were going to call a timeout either way lol the foul didn’t magically give them one

40866892

1 | 6 hours ago

much less rigged compared to the last game, so I’m happy

Chiffley

4 | 6 hours ago

That call on Strus was weak, bam pushed him 100%

[Post Game Thread] The Miami Heat (3-5) defeat the LA Clippers (1-7), 117-116 behind Klay Thompson’s 30 points and game winning shot!
