and why the fuck did they wait until the last second to shoot? at least give yourself enough time to foul and get another chance

terrible clock management and terrible shot

Well he was the only one that could put the ball in the basket all game besides Naji

the last possesion he had a wide open lane but waited to burn more time off the clock. It was a stupid move.

Kyrie tried to show Fox how to win games. Should have given the ball to Coops or the hot hand Naji Marshall.

Not really, it was all lay ups.

It’s okay to say he had a bad game lol

Kyrie is clutch, Coop was off tonight, I’m good with it

Hate this excuse more than life. If hes hurt why is he playing in game #8

Wemby was fine after being hacked all game

don’t see Wemby bitching out in the final possessions after being hacked all game

I just said the same thing to this guys wife as well

Our 2 best shooters went 0/14 😬 winning this game is robbery

That coach continues to give Keldon Johnson extended minutes despite him being an actual basketball terrorist this year so Mitch deserves blame in some capacity.

It is Mitch’s fault that a lineup of Keldon, Kornet and Barnes is put in for multiple stretches of the game.

Also if Kornet is struggling, maybe try the other center on the roster who got a DNP tonight while Kornet was forced into a humiliation ritual to go -22 because we put him in lineups with zero defenders or anyone with size.

Literally. Dude is gassed, though he’s definitely playing more this season which should help

The thing is even at 34 minutes he gets gassed, his stamina’s just not good. Of course he’s so insane at those minutes that it’s usually okay. But it’s what cost them in the finals

Wemby needs a fta every 2 minutes of play, only had 23.

slight tangent but the 0 block games are just as telling as the 10 block ones

He can’t make Kornet good.

Read any spurs game thread bruh we’ve been having this convo for weeks now

We will have this conversation right now - did Reed sleep with Mitch’s wife or something? What justification does he have for Reed not playing a single minute? The same goes with Carter Bryant.

Say that Reed stinks it up, and this is a very big “if”. We’d still be able to get him reps, which is quite a lot more valuable than the alternative.

Haha preach

Mitch Johnson keeps on playing him though lol

I mean at this point they should have him out there with Wemby at least he won’t get obliterated constantly. I saw it in the playoffs last season where people would just fly by Kornet and he couldn’t do shit. I think he used up his nba talent on that block.

She’s the first governor to be excited about in a long time haha

That’s the Kyrie play.

Normally I’d agree, but with the way he was shooting all game and with how banged up he seemed at the end? Not really.

That being said, still some really bad plays by us there at the end, no question.

Do you not remember when we had Luka? Most of Kidd’s ATO “plays” were dumping it to Luka and let him shoot a 30 footer step back with no ball movement, screens, etc

Bro what

wrong

Did we watch the same Jason Kidd? There was a lot he did well as a coach, bit I feel like ATO plays were widely regarded as one of his biggest weaknesses lol

Those were 3 terrible shots down the stretch without Flagg touching the ball. That falling sideways 3 pointer with plenty of time on the clock was awful.

Personally I think its the lineups and the sheer difference of being able to rely on Wemby’s backline defence. The more I watch the more I think you could replace Kornet with any backup and most starter centres and it would result in the same effect.

Luke is still doing the things we asked him to do when he looked great early last season, setting great screens, taking hits, getting amongst the trees, baiting some fouls. Its the rest of the players not adjusting.

It’s very similar to what the Nuggets have always struggled with but theirs was on offence. Joker is such a unique player that warps the way you’re supposed to play bball and its either too hard for players to change the style of their schemes or having to change their aggression level.

We drafted 2 this summer

It’s not just Luke. Mitch puts in Harrison Barnes and Keldon together with Luke and it’s open season in the paint.

Kornet’s nosedive since the second half of last season is just brutal. Man was one of the best backup centers in the league.

His minutes have been a horror show for the Spurs ever since.

We got one. Mitch won’t play him.

Tarris Reed is averaging 18 points 27 rebounds 1.8 blk per 36. lol

Granted that’s in 5mpg in 4 games. But it’s insane not to give him minutes.

(We’re choosing to ignore his 10.8 pf per 36 lol)

Every time Wemby sits it looks like no one on the court has any idea what they’re doing to me, not sure what Johnson’s doing

How does a slightly used Myles Turner sound?

Sounds good, lets swap Kornet for Looney

Kornet isn’t really the problem. The problem is the lack of anyone over 6’7” on the team. Wemby is able to make it work, but it ends up causing him to get gassed. Kornet’s not Wemby, so he’s not able to make it work and they get killed. If they had a power forward on the court then Kornet would look a lot better and Wemby wouldn’t get as gassed.

I’ll gladly take Kornet back, who do you want?

Pretty sure they take longer to start running their offense than any team in the league. Walk the ball up the court, look over at Mitch, pass it around between Castle and Fox once or twice, and then suddenly there’s 7 seconds on the shot clock and they’ve done nothing. It’s ugly. They really need to get their shit together.

Spurs offense is just let Wemby cook lmao.

What offense? It is basically just drive and if nothing is there just toss it up somewhere near the basket for Wemby

Most of those were legitimate fouls, coming from a thunder fan btw

Cause he shot like 50% FT lol

You’re right, it was 34 for Wilt

he got fouled more than they called it

Maybe 1 or 2 calls were a bit bogus. The rest were entirely legit and just what happens where you’re a skilled 7’5 guy. Not Wemby’s fault mavs couldn’t do shit to him but foul.

it just might

Can’t mess up his Kalshi bet.

not disagreeing with your sentiment but i dont think it’s all work that’s getting him 24 reb and 8 blk lol but ya unreal performance

I mean lol if shai was 7 foot 6 im sure they would put up the work lmfao

I think he just misread how much time was on the clock. WCJ held the ball for so long.

fakest fan that ever fake fanned.

Castle didn’t let a bad first half get to him. Bounced back in the second half and got some big buckets and rebounds.

Yeah, but he can’t not make a single shot. That’s not acceptable for a starter.

Most underrated player on the team

he’s just a backup coach and took all the credit that coach Pop done behind the scenes.

Damn didn’t expect that. He couldn’t miss tonight and had good quick releases

He’s lights out against the Spurs though

He always cooks us, and Walter Clayton Jr has had good games against us on all three teams he’s played for now (maddening when he’s kind of sucked against everyone else, which is crazy bc he was the 18th pick just last year)
