He’s the idea of a decent player especially when he’s playing outside of a set.
What held him back was somehow he never seemed to lick up on the offense or plays. He was also really bad on defense. The biggest thing was if he shot wasn’t falling he was basically useless and he shot 34% from three last year.

He’s a really low IQ player when it comes to defensive coverages and running set plays. There’s a pretty funny clip from last season or maybe JJ’s first season as coach where he subs in Dalton and they run a set play specifically for him and he fucks in his own play and JJ subs him out shortly after lol he was a good shooter his rookie year but then he hustled stopped hitting his shots and so he was pretty much unplayable.

At his best he is a good athlete who can hit open shots but his issue (besides never recovering fromThe trade) is he seems to have a poor feel for the game on top of not processing things well. He has the tools and skills to be a decent back-up wing scorer but never put it together. Also not a movement shooter.

Hes nice to watch when he is confident. When he got drafted he used to fly anything and you can tell its either going in or miss just a couple of inch. Im glad he’s on a new environment he needed that. he has his struggle sure, beside coming into the league at 24, JJ redick expected him to be able to follow NBA speed, but he just wanst able to read the floor well. he has the right length to be a decent defender but that was his issue, he gets lost on plays. and thats what killed his chances on the team. if he can just be a decent catch and shoot on knicks he may be able to contribute, but we all know those type of players are not getting chances at the game anymore.
