he on his way out of a job and uses up his medical while he can, how can yall not relate?!??!?

i mean he’s already made 200 mil+ and he’s an nba champion.

he’s thinking he doesn’t give a fuck about 20m and is retired and is living a way better life in Europe than in the US

More people should give less fucks.

What platform?

He wants Matt Dillon’s teeth from Something About Mary, give him a break

I’m a union steward and I’ve successfully protected the job of a worker who should have lost his job. I was able to do so because management did not follow due process. If I didn’t do that I would be allowing management to terminate an employee without due process.

Is that my proudest moment as a steward? Yes, actually. Not because I kept a bad worker in the work force, but because when that happens to a good worker due process exists to protect them from unfair termination. The coin falls that way much more often and I cannot let due process be something I’d allowed to be compromised when it does.

And that’s how it should be. You need people to go to bat for you for the due process in case this was something that was justifiable. Can’t just assume everyone’ guilty of something if one person is.

They got Ben Simmons a settlement from the 76ers when he was out with his hurt feelings.

It’s so funny how the NBA, a league that is so rich and profitable runs hard on socialism concepts. It has a salary cap, rules that are designed to increase parity, and unions whose goals is to keep owners accountable and fighting for the right of the workers (albeit for millionaires).

But that concept somehow can’t be applied to the rest of the country because communism ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The union is aware that it’s justified but they’ll probably still fight it because that’s what unions are supposed to do,

NO, IT ISN’T.

The job of a union is not to mindlessly back up the people in it. It is to represent the group, for the group benefit. It should absolutely be casting out bad faith participants. That is part of the stewardship of a union. The union is to keep the company from meddling, but when you prevent the company from that enforcement against bad actors you take over that responsibility to act against the bad actors. That’s the trade off for “you don’t get to enforce against us, you don’t do it right.”

Slippery slope of having to show up to work to get paid for going to work?

He didn’t post the picture himself, but he posed with the dentist and the dentist posted it on his IG account.

Latvian NBA players and getting photographed doing something they shouldn’t be doing. Name a better duo.

I lost respect for him when he was like lol it’s not AIDS. I think he has low IQ and low awareness. He now has a lifelong disability and should be taking it a lot more seriously than he is. POTS is no joke.

Just wait until he insists that he is a Wizard

It would have been pretty legendary if there was some viral post with Aiyuk and KP just chilling in Cancun.

Kristaps Rendon

Board man gets paid

He never said they wouldn’t fight, just that it would be tough.

yeah and he got a great deal because ballmer was trying to go scorched earth so the nba wanted to make a deal with the NBPA first. if ballmer blamed uncle dennis and kawhi’s demands for under the table compensation, the PA would have had way less leverage on the league

Been trying to trash teachers for 6 years. Very Boston of you

Ben Simmons ended up getting back surgery so it’s a little unclear how healthy he actually was during that period of time since his camp and the 76ers were at each others throats so bad

Ben Simmons got away with it for a while claiming mental struggles. Porzingis has an actual diagnosis

How do you know he didn’t have a diagnosis? Lingering and debilitating pain, compounded with deep family strife along with on court struggles, would fuck up most people mentally.

He has some sort of autoimmune disorder which seems like a chronic issue at this point. It’s been years of the same cycle where he plays until he can’t anymore. Sadly he probably will not play again

The moment my company transitioned to unlimited pto was the moment I knew it was going to all go to crap. Sure enough, bonuses gets reduced, people get pressured into taking less time off, and then the PE fucks come in and now everyone’s miserable lol.

As soon as you’re signed, they make you feel tall

By giving you 40 million dollars, instead of it all.

again?

pregonite?

Maybe its Maybelline

50 miles, more or less.

Maybe all the AI data centers are causing this

Aiyuk needs to get reinstated to the practice squad and spend the rest of the season going up against Dre Greenlaw

Mr Breached Contract

Idk if I’d call Aiyuk completely healthy… Injury rehab aside, that dude is a portrait of mental unwellness.

It really doesnt have to be an eother or situation though. Like he probably is sick with like POTS or something but also has just ghosted the team.

I think regardless of a hypothetical illness he isn’t even reporting to the team at all you would expect him to be on the bench or something every once in a while

It’s obviously both. He clearly does actually have something mysterious going on medically. But that doesn’t exempt you from communicating with the team, and showing up to the facility.

Whatever medical situation a player is going through – they still have to be around the team or at minimum answer their calls. That’s what Porzingis apparently is failing to do, which is the whole problem.

Both can be true, but if he’s not actively communicating or confirming truths about his illness then it’s hard not to understand the Warriors position here.

Someone with a POTS diagnosis having indeterminate symptoms and being flaky? Never seen that before.

Maybe next he’ll start getting into chronic illness communities and posting memes about spoons.

Was about to say Aiyuk is actually unwell Tingus Pingus in the other hand…

Sure, but without Yaxel (and Podz showing up) it’d just be a lot of “despite the loss” posts about Curry.

I previously saw February was the ETA for Jimmy, but Jimmy said he had a more ambitious timeline for himself and that there was a particular game he was targeting. The most symbolic one I can see would probably be the Miami Heat on Jan 17th considering how it ended with his former team and that’s the team he was playing when he got injured, and it’s 1 year later.

Not yet, but expectations are some tkme in january, with Moody being slightly ahead of him.

Jan/Feb

I keep hearing it’s a partial guarantee, but holy shit why is this not more widely publicized? That’s a pretty critical detail and the most specific news’ve heard about it.

Got a source?

Ahh ok, thank you!

That’s pretty much it. Whoever gets KP isn’t paying for his salary or (non-existent) services. They’re buying FRPs.

All these fantasy trades don’t get that the warriors are probably gonna want more than another shitty player they can’t get rid of & one pick lmao

And the Raps replace with??? Sim Bhular or his brother?

At least with Aiyuk, we all saw his knee get completely blown up on national TV. With Porzingis, it’s just his word.

The Warriors gave Wiggins all thr time in the world to sort his thing out. And gives proper rests to its players like OPJ and helps thrm thru rehab like Melton. They gave Klay the max to rehab for almost 2 years. They’re a really good org for injured players. Even Melton took less money to come back because he rehabbed for a whole year and never heard anything bad.

I’m now starting to think that maybe the report regarding “Warriors don’t know his whereabouts” may have been accurate. I remember at the time, before anyone knew what KP was doing, people were saying the Warriors absolutely know where he is and are just keeping it private for him. We all thought KP was the good guy in this and he was just dealing with his health.

But if the man is now skipping work to go to Spain, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not informing his employer of this. But who knows, maybe he got permission or something. Lol.

Its not even really a matter of he should be at every practice/game. Guys with season ending injuries etc aren’t at every game or team function or expected to be. Its that he is not working with GSW in any capacity to even give information on his current health status, or status in general. Like imagine if an average guy at your work sent the boss a text saying I’m sick, then completely stops showing up for work indefinitely, doesn’t elaborate, doesn’t communicate. In any professional capacity it isn’t the reasonable thing to do, even if you are actually sick, and you shouldn’t expect to get paid in the meantime.

I mean… being unfit to play an NBA game is completely different than being unfit to travel, walk, and even get veneers.

Like those are totally not mutually exclusive.

Unless I was bed-bound, I would happily turn up to an NBA training facility, sit in on the team meetings and watch practice for $20m a year.

I have POTS myself and one thing doctors have told me is that if you contract an infection, it could make it worse. It’s a case of russian roulette.

so he should be at every practice

Or maybe, just maybe, you’re completely ignorant about the situation and he’s there for legitimate treatment.

I found Mitch McConnell’s reddit account

“That amount is called my quote. That’s my rate. So the next film I’m offered, they have to pay that same amount. Even if I do a bad job.”

That’s your rate. No matter how bad of a job you do they still have to pay you because it’s your rate.

Do you have an uncle named Dennis?

He’s not doing a bad job. He’s not even showing up for work

Santa ?!

Contracts have obligations on both ends. If one side doesn’t fulfill their end, the other side is no longer obligated to fulfill theirs.

lol a contract goes two ways, man. If one party isn’t holding up their end, the other won’t either

full blown aids

Lumbago is real, unlike Groat’s Disease; it’s just an old timey term for lower back pain.

Steve Nash technically retired from lumbago.

The term “Chip and Dip” should become an NBA slang if it isn’t already

(If it isn’t I take full credit)

Lol, “got retired” is pretty accurate

Was gonna say Ben as well, it was a weird time

Yes forgot about that!

I don’t want to believe he got an anything. Dude got mild criticism from his coach and refused to play again.

Not really the same though in my opinion because the CBAs for the NBA and NFL are really different when it comes to money guarantees for players.

Agree with everything except the it was never about him playing part. He played 15 out of the last 20 games last year. They were hoping he could play for sure and they are disappointed he’s not

I was literally thinking about Suggs as I was reading your comment. I believe the Magic would love to get off that contract ($32 million and descending) to make room for an Anthony Black extension at the end of the season and Suggs could be a nice piece in GS, particularly where he doesn’t need to be a primary ball handler.

100% agree on the posters not understanding NBA contracts

• Might need the sub to require someone to become certified before posting

Losing Draymond would be a positive though

Yeah which team has a 20m player they wanna unload?

I’m kinda hoping they don’t attach FRP’s though. Their draft hit rate recently has been promising.

Might be that supremely talented players are used to getting their way. Sure, they definitely still worked hard to get where they are. But somebody who doesn’t have “it” would have to work infinitely harder than they. Honestly just seems like entitlement. Many of them grew up knowing they were just going to become pro athletes. They were surrounded by people who told them they were “the shit” and it probably stunted their emotional growth so that they aren’t normal functioning adult men. Now they’re still acting like they did when they were teens who were “the shit” not realizing they’re risking losing everything.

yeah I think it’s this plus the second year is only $3m guaranteed so it’s effectively an expiring/team option

Yeah I actually think it was a great idea with the chips we had. Get off the Kuminga experience and bet on someone that if we can get some production out of is probably the best possible center we’d ever hope for, and we’d have a salary slot to roll the dice again.

I don’t think anyone expected him just straight up going AWOL though, this shit is weird.

Don’t bother trying to educate him. He’s just a silly Knicks fan, they don’t know ball

Yea early 30s made a quarter billion. I’m sure he is just in it as long as he can secure contracts.

He’s already made over $200m in his career. He is beyond filthy rich.

People like you are what is wrong with the world, never-ending greed and selfishness is the root of all of our problems. You are driven by nothing but greed, no morals whatsoever. No different than the players selling their souls to Kalshi or the billionaires who refuse to pay their fair share of taxes, even though they have more money than they or their descendants will ever spend. Disgusting.

Correction: I would show up and do the bare minimum for the money too.

He’s already earned 200 million. I’d been gone long ago.

For some people, once you are set for one thousand life times, your name and legacy/reputation become worth more than setting yourself up for the 1,001st life time that you will never live.

For instance, fuck Bradley Beal.

There’s a difference between being injured and completely ghosting the team

Don’t team doctors do a physical before signing players? Why would you not look over his medicals given his history? That’s on them

Yes, sucks. If you’re talking about POTS.

Same reason the Cavs essentially HAD to resign Harden. They couldn’t do anything else with the money, you either spend it on that specific player or you can’t spend it at all

exactly, not sure why this is difficult to understand for folks

Why didn’t they just re-sign Post instead?

You can do a sign and trade

So your parents gave you $20 for a lemonade stand…

Or to dumb it down: they couldn’t use that 20 million to sign anyone because of salary cap rules. If they want to add someone to the roster, a trade is necessary. This way they can include KP to trade for someone in the similar salary range (looking at you Myles Turner).

of course, it’s best to preserve salary slots with actual tradable assets rather than voids.

I mean, they could have given me a guaranteed $10M contact and I wouldn’t post to Instagram while I’m sitting at home.  Win/win!

not everyone is cba knowledgeable

Exactly. they basically retained an expiring contract as a salary slot for a trade

No they couldn’t. They couldn’t have just used that space if they didn’t sign him since they are over the cap.

I bet the Warriors would actually love to trade Porzingis straight up for Sabonis but can’t due to his $40 million salary. In my mind, Porzingis is making too little and should have paid him double!

That’s not how bird rights work lol

Not it wasn’t.. they signed him to preserve his salary slot

lol at not understanding how the most basic salary cap stuff works
