Is his play really that impactful

Draymond being able to erase actions just by positioning himself right almost all the time always impresses me. Its a shame that he’s such a dickhead because this guy is the best defender of a generation with monsters on defense that earn so much more praise than him cause he’s unlikeable

i mean Dray has a lot of negative aspects, he is not even the shell of what he was and is stil the BEST DEFENDER in the Warriors so idk

They pay attention to stats not actual gameplay.

I’m backing you up on this. All the people who watch and follow nba know and always highlight how huge his presence and minutes are when he’s on the floor. Most of the time you can’t see it through numbers tho.

Yea idk Perkins is talking about.

I tell people all the time that I literally started watching basketball because of Draymond Green! 😂 He’s just so entertaining to watch, and defense is honestly my favorite part of the game. I love his aggressiveness, intensity, basketball IQ, and the energy he brings to the court. He does so many little things that don’t always show up on the stat sheet, but they make a huge difference.

And I stand by the fact that Steph plays better when Draymond is on the court with him. Their chemistry is crazy! Dray knows how to find Steph, sets screens to get him open, and allows Steph to play off the ball. I feel like people focus so much on scoring that they overlook everything else Dray contributes. He’s not perfect, but I genuinely enjoy watching him play. Not everybody has to be a 30-point scorer to have a major impact on the game!

But, the same way people dislike Dray, I dislike Luka. Luka unlocked a hate trait, I never thought I had. Rather watch someone who got that dawg in em’ than crying all fucking game

Celtics fans taking issue with Perks role on the team is weird. He played an important role in helping the team win a championship. He was a part of a starting five that never lost a playoff series when they were all on the floor.

If the Thunder want to take issue with him or any other fan base, sure. But Celtics fans?!

Tf a Celtics fan doing hating perk

In your mind can no one comment on NBA player performance unless they themselves were/are a better than the player they are criticizing?

You are asking too much of Perk

I think he’s always going to be important for the Steph dribble hand-offs and one-two passes. When offenses are pressuring Steph, Dray is capable of creating separation around screens and hitting Curry right as he rolls off a pick. At times in the Suns game Bassey or Yaxel were able to fill that role, but they’re just not as good at getting the ball safely to Steph. I felt much more comfortable with the ball in Dray’s hands at the hash mark than any other F/C on that roster.

Draymond’s MO now is above-average defence/rebounding and being Curry’s exclusive roll man, which actually does a lot of heavy lifting when Steph is getting trapped at half-court. Yaxel seems like the obvious guy to take over that role, but he’s still raw and turnover-prone.

that’s usually because it fires everyone up mainly steph

It goes back even further than that. In the 2022 finals we were not playing well at all and Kerr benched Dray I believe in game 4 and we IMMEDIATELY got way better and Steph could actually play 5v5 instead of 4v5 on offense. And then there were a few times where dray missed a few weeks due to injury and again the team was immediately better and won most of those games. And like you said, multiple times dray has gotten ejected and the team flips a switch and looks like an actual NBA team again. I just wish coaching and front office would make the connection

His turnovers are getting harder to stomach too

I’m completely shocked that Kendrick Perkins of all people would have a dumbass take.

his 2 man game with steph is bottom of the league this season. His game has been getting worse for seasons now. He constantly comes into training camp out of shape. He’s averaging 3ppg this season.

No, he’s wrong as usual. I’m just as tired of green’s antics as everyone but why lie about the fact that he is still a defensive beast?

Brooks was ballin last year what

All of last season. He was our undersized 4, helped a roster that was projected for 23 wins or something to make the play ins, and was the most valuable piece of the kd trade for the year (manman still developing and jalen hurt 80% of the season)

Bro averaged 20 ppg and made the playoffs last season
