what if it’s Phillies-Yankees world series

Yea, I’m a Philly hater for life but Maxey is probably my favorite player that isn’t a current or former Buck.

That’s the way I felt about JB when he was a Celtic. In 2024 I was sitting on my couch saying “welp, the evil Empire won, but that Darth Vader guy is pretty sweet.”

Fuck the 76ers, but I like Maxey.

Yeah. I truly dislike embiid and the entire process behind that championless rebuild, but I’d never say anything bad about maxey.

That’s just a really good guy giving 100% every time he steps on the court.

Lol I’m reminded of starship troopers

“The kid’s got some moves…”

“Give em a squad, see what he can do”

https://clip.cafe/starship-troopers-1997/kids-got-some-moves/?srsltid=AYCX9vI1vIej0t1Z7Q0w6oeEgoluI0MWtQKQcco2p36eioHegllc3Wwf

I wonder if Maxey tries a 30 foot tear drop whenever he’s tossing out a poopy diaper.

He seems to really love being a dad and it’s very endearing.

See LaMelo Ball’s comments the other week. Man was proud to say with his full chest, “not my job” I regards to diapers.

I love Maxey.

There’s really no excuse unless you have servants that do all the work and your wife is also free of childcare

You gained respect for him cause he does the bare minimum as a dad (changing diapers)? lol get off the internet dude…

knicks fans hate knicks fans?

Me too

Naw, that would just mean people are indifferent to him.

Maxey is likeable.

This is silly. Joel has never made a deep run and plenty of people hate him. Austin Reaves has plenty of haters and he’s never made an ounce of playoff noise.

You can only hate Maxey because he’s beating you, there is no other way. There’s just nothing to hate about him unless you hate that he’s good at basketball.

Sign me up for at least a conference final sixers gunna get hate either way might as well profit lol

Maxey is a fucking combustion engine on the court. When they were done 20+ points at the half this man was still running downhill full speed at his opponents to get a quick score and cut the lead. His energy was infectious and got the rest of the guys going. Next thing you know they are launching one of the largest comebacks in their history.

Maxey is HIM.

Easily, one if not the most likeable player in the NBA.

And he will never knock over hand sanitizer dispensers in a fit of rage.

You should come down to Philly next Tuesday. It’s gonna be electric. A lot of Boston fans are there when we play them.

It’s possible they are winning because they bought into it.

His energy wasn’t falling the last few playoffs on the same minutes. Last year he had his finger issue that kept his shot from being great at the end of the season into the playoffs but overall he’s just a well conditioned young guy who loves playing long.

This year is different tho, even if it’s still 40mpg it’s coming different with the team structure. Because of the talent he hasn’t really had to over work himself at the start of the game, which has led to him going off in the 4th when everyone else is tired and he was just warming up

People keep saying this but all the starters playing together also means no singular player has to carry the team the entire game

He’s played 40 minutes once so far. Averages 36.7

Strangely enough, that’s one of their best quality. Maxey, Brown and VJ have insane stamina. By the 4th when most players are a bit tired, they’re able to ramp up, play more aggressive defense and score more efficiently. Despite playing 40min

Bruh… I wait every day for LeBron and Joel to collide and be out for the season or some crazy shit. Just let them be healthy til the finish line basketball Gods!

They had to play guys more minutes because they had a bunch of injuries to guys on the bench to start the season. Minutes distribution hasn’t been as bad the last few games

He’s already been key in the second half for them getting momentum. He’s gone bucket, clamp, bucket for 5-5 point swings over 2 offensive possessions a few times. Also been key for closing games, killer instinct in theCLE game.

as a bulls fan, i saw first hand how much tough shot making yall have. its so unfair maxey and jaylen and at times lebron and embiid can all go 1on1 and get buckets

The Pistons are a tough matchup for them

Pretty crazy overreaction to them being 7-1, the season is long and they currently rank 11th in point differential, behind Detroit, Toronto, Cleveland, and Boston. Not saying all those teams are better than them, just pointing out that they are not dominating the league despite their record.

VJ, LeBron, and JB are averaging 7/game

KCP, Simons, and Dean Wade seem like pretty good bench pieces for a deep playoff run, they need a better backup big but like 75% of the team is in the same boat

We are a backup center away from a really solid 9 man playoff rotation with Simons, Wade, KCP. Barlow, Jabari and rookie Philon will provide plenty of regular season depth. It’s really just depth behind Jo at center.

Why? How?

Dean Wade has been fantastic after the first few slow games. Anfernee Simons is absolutely automatic from 3 and has hit every big shot we’ve needed him to. KCP has dipped into the fountain of youth. Walker is a bruiser and has shown great poise in the paint against more talented opposition. And Barlow should be solid when he comes back off the injury.

Oh yeah, and we have a young project in Labaron Philon Jr who has the handles of a 3rd or 4th year guy already. He just needs time to adjust to the league and he’ll be kicking ass with the rest of them.

Our bench is sick. And it’ll get better in December.

People who say this didn’t see our bench last year.

Quentin Grimes was our best guy off the bench.

There’s 5 guys that can carry the offense at any time. Which means two or three of them can rest. Maxey could be alone as the other 4 rest.

This means that they aren’t really top heavy if you can stagger them this easily

Last year our starting wings were Oubre & Barlow who started on a 2-way

Now it’s JB and LeBron.

Dean Wade is replacing Trendon Watford

I used to pray for times like this.

Barrlow is the small ball 5 I need in my life

but he didn’t. Lebron recruited Westbrook and they couldn’t even make the PLAY-INS

Lebron also missed playoffs his 1st year there

lots of people had them in the play in still and a lower seed than the damn pacers. they questioned the bench, then the defense, then center rotation, then of course thinking egos would cause someone to quit cuz they’re averaging 20 instead of 25. but a lot is from ppl who doubt everything Lebron is involved in while also clamoring it’s a superteam with him on it

Yes they did stop the revivisionism

You’ve never heard of that before?

It’s bussin, you use chops breaded in shake N bake.

You missing out

A very normal and good one

It’s amazing what?

Are you joking? If you look up the most common thing to have with pork chops apple sauce is what it says. This is you showing you don’t know basic common food combinations. The fact you don’t know and mock without even checking is tragic man.

Joel is the Process but Maxey is The Franchise after all 😎

Embiid is past his prime and isn’t delusional enough to deny that

Exactly.

it was lamb chops and some gravy man

Some of it was a beat up.

Like the Hufflepuff stuff, he was saying that 2 years ago about Tatum and White when he was still in Boston.

He genuinely didn’t seem to mean it as an insult.

He feels slighted by Tatum but theres no question he loves Boston and Boston should still love him back.

But if you ignore the instances where he hasn’t been professional then he’s always been a professional

Was it taking shots at Tatum or was it calling out tatum’s fake obliviousness to his being traded?

It wasn’t shots, but maybe a few cups.

JB probably

He clearly held it back till he left though, I appreciate that

Tatum lied about Brown in his self made documentary about himself.

There were a lot of “there’s only one ball” comments before the season on philly

plenty of “Jaylen wants to be the #1 option and leader of his own team, how will this team work with all the egos?” commentary before the start of the season.

A lot of armchair tacticians had this take on this very subreddit

Bona is the wish Bona
