It’s all about can the bench not lose double digit points every time when 2 of these guys sit or are out

CutLonzosHair2017 [OP] | LAL

Bench has kinda been fine since they stopped playing Looney. Third stringers had a tough stretch last game but they aren’t really the “bench.”

Also, our non-Luka lineups are night and day whenever Ziaire is playing. Austin with Grimes and Sexton has been an issue and Ziaire helps us not push those lineups out as much. Very underrated pickup. Hope he can stay healthy

TheCatSleeeps | LAL

The bench was a bit more organized during the Heat game at least. It’s a pretty new team so they might improve as games go on.

They had sexton leading which was nice. Dude is a DAWG

JJ’s adjusting with the second unit, giving Reaves lineups more size by pairing him with Kessler and avoiding the clearly losing AR-Sexton-Grimes trio

Luka’s efficiency this season has been insane given he’s scoring 30+ PPG and he’s a guard.

Westbrooks3ptShot | Slovenia

Also the shots he takes are not normal difficulty. He is taking the most outrageous attempts but they just keep going in. Never seen him this hot from 3

he’s truly in an unparalleled flow right now.

shotmaking is to the umpteenth degree.

Dat_Boi_John | Slovenia

He’s taking the second hardest shots in the league, right after Ty Jerome, while being in 94th percentile efficiency. It is absolutely insane what he’s doing.

I’ve seen a few graphs that say that Luka and the Lakers have some of the lowest shot quality this season so far, but some of the highest shotmaking.

He’s on pace to break Steph’s single season record right now. We’ve never seen anyone this hot from 3 at this volume.

Classic_Reference_92

30+PPG somehow undersells it. He is 1.8 points away from averaging 40

yitur93 | LAL

He is much closer to 40 than 30 which is the craziest part…

_chadwell_ | LAL

He’s also taking more threes than anyone ever has and making them at a ridiculous rate.

Smekledorf1996

Yeah, but realistically it should drop at some point

He’s shooting a career high 42% from 3 and 88% from FT

Aff_Reddit

He lost weight and turned into Curry.

Hour_Glass57 | Lebanon

I mean hes 6ft7 lets be real he has gaurd skills but the body of a forward

Parallel-Quality

18 | 7 hours ago

The guard part was meant to highlight that he doesn’t take most of his shots in the paint which is what is typically the case for players with similar TS% to what Luka has this season.

indecisivebuy

2 | 7 hours ago

Because he’s suddenly morphed into Steph Curry this year. This is by far the best and highest volume he’s ever shot from 3 and also the best he’s ever shot FTs. It’ll be interesting to see how much of it is permanent improvement vs hot start as the season goes along

Diciestaking | DAL

I honestly think the free throws are real. He clearly has some mental block hes worked around with a new routine that’s helping him considerably. It may not be 90% but its improved.

Anyone else look at the those numbers and see a glaring risk? Luka is playing out of his mind, but having (i assume 70%+) of your scoring in 3 guys will be a major issue with an injury.

I do believe Reeves has been pretty durable outside the previous playoff injury tho

CutLonzosHair2017 [OP] | LAL

Shots are pretty normal, the numbers are increased because of the extreme efficiency.

AwildYaners | Japan

Big thing is they just need to buy time for hopefully Grimes and Sexton to feel comfortable.

They both contributed big in the game Luka sat this season, but it was only against the Clippers. They did still drop 20+ points each.

They don’t need to do that, every game, but if they can just bring up their averages to around 12 PPG and bring their AST up to 3.5-4, that goes a long way.

I literally don’t know. I just feel like I’ve been more impressed with who he was vs who he is. Like idk, he just doesn’t look like he’s creating that much, just standing there.

bhris_cratt321 | NYK

2 | 4 hours ago

I agree. From an eyetest standpoint, I was way more impressed with his first 2 months last year. It’s probably the turnovers skyrocketing.

On the other hand, his efficiency is through the roof. Also Luka’s dominance makes AR look like just a guy out there lol

TheCatSleeeps | LAL

0 | 4 hours ago

That’s a legit question. He still put up stats but his handles are noticeably worse.

Luka, Reaves, and Kessler are averaging a combined 76.3 PPG on 69% TS%.
