Cloning technology has yet to made so much progress that 29 teams can field a playing 5 of 5 Ben Simmons at all time

I’ve always felt like Bam is budget AD tbh. AD is a little better at everything and that’s not even a slight at Bam

AD gave bam the business in the finals shouldn’t really be a convo

It was a robbery that he didn’t win DPOY and they gave it to JJJ. A big that fouls way too much because his positioning is bad and doesn’t rebound. But he got blocks, so yay.

Heat are a top 10 most delusional fan base, but I have literally never seen a Heat fan claim Bam is as good as AD (unless you take some of the “Wilt. Bam. Kobe” posts seriously)

I think they’re quite different. AD has always been an elite rim protector who can rotate, Bam is a switch big but not really a rim protector like AD. I’d probably like Bam covering guards more but I think AD being a better rim protector while also being able to cover space makes him a better defender at his best. Bam is also more of a point big than AD while AD is a better lob target than Bam is. If anything I feel like Sarr is kinda halfway between them in his skillset but a worse rebounder as of now.

They’re similar being bigs who are streaky at best shooters and defence being their best trait

I don’t think many people disagree with this sentiment (but who knows). It’s just a matter of availability.

Always has been.

AD is who the heat think Bam is.

Want*****

The Heat should’ve known the player Bam IS. Pair him with a stretch big and he would eat inside, where he’s at his best.

We went to the finals with Kelly fucking Olynyk, whose skills are tailor fit with Bam, and we never gave him that front court since.

Oh wait, we had Caleb “PF” Martin actually sorry.

This is disrespect to AD tbh.

Not even Heat fans think that.  Laker fans thought AD was better than Giannis

Plenty of people have doubted his skills too, when you get injured so much you get underrated as a player, people give you nicknames, try to minimize your impact

His entire career he’s been underrated tbh, just an incredible player and playoff raiser too, a rare breed of player that is better in the playoffs in every way

When you look at his career he’s severely underrated and it’s largely because of morons like Charles Barkley and fans who think he’s getting injured on purpose

You don’t spend much time around here do you? AD has long been one of this place’s go-to guys to make fun of. This place shits on anyone they don’t like who has an injury history.

He said himself he’ll he playing all 82 games this season.

Im pretty sure people clowned Washington all offseason for signing him and he’s turned their defense around completely

yup, AD just needs to be healthy

Yup, when he’s healthy (like normal healthy amount, not needing to play all 82 games), he’s an top 10 player in the league.

It’s just that every game, he goes down at least once and you’re just wondering if this is the one that knocks him out for weeks/months.

Even when he has bad games, I felt like it was an effort thing and not as much as him just not being able to perform. So many lakers games he’d go from having a 30+/15 followed by a ¹³⁄₁₀. Odd game Davis was a real thing

There will be some regression but this is also a result of us playing the hornets twice, the magic, the bucks, and the nets which all have multiple players that aren’t guarded from 3

this is silly

if their opponents were shooting 40% on wide open 3s they’d be 13th in Drtg. A huge improvement compared to last year (30th)

When I click on it, it says “no data available”. What parameters do I set to see this?

I agree man they are giving up tons of open 3s and getting bailed out by bad shots.

Lots of chuckers on the teams we’ve played

The Wizards are big and protect the rim well with AD, Sarr and Ayton. Coulibaly has been a monster on D with several blocks and steals, Bub plays with ultra high energy, Keshawn George is big and disruptive and Dybantsa is fully buying in to playing hard defense.

But guarding threes is a weak point to date, their give up too many open looks.

thats the point, with that team, its still top 10. AD is a force. its the worst when he is forced to play out of position or do too much. hes much better on good teams that dont fuck his body up, because he will go 100%.

Trae has been putting in effort on defense for years. That was never an issue for him in Atlanta. The defensive hustle was always there. Effectiveness was always limited by his size and athleticism but the bad defense wasn’t an effort issue. It was his offensive fit that lead to the trade.

After the DJM fiasco we tried building a roster around him that would allow him to play off the ball more since the offensive scheme was becoming predictable and his usage was so high it was exacerbating his injury issues. Trae never bought in to his off ball responsibilities in the new scheme and so when faced with a roster that had been built specifically to get him off the ball more, he became the odd man out

I thought he always put effort in? Just has Anfernee Simon’s syndrome

Teams are also taking more 3s because it’s tougher to score on the inside with AD there to contest shots.

But Bilal has been great defensively, AD makes life easier as he definitely lets the wings be more aggressive on defense knowing they have a good backline to cover for them

Bilal Calibouly and AJ Dybantsa are legit terrors as perimeter defenders.

Without AD we would be in a much worse position on the boards, which are already a weakness. The aggressive point of attack defense (which I love) doesn’t seem to put our wings in good position for rebounds. Right now we would fall apart at both ends if AD has to miss time - he has such a powerful steadying effect every time he checks back in.

I’ve been saying before the season started this team is very well rounded and honestly a sleeper team. It sounds crazy but I lowkey see the Wizards ceiling being the ECF or Finals

They did the right thing, imo.

Dallas are building back up, not here “to make some noise” right away. With Flagg’s ascension, they are very likely to make the playoffs anyway, so that’s already better than expected. Take the cap room, try to build ou the roster over the next trade windows and see what you got.

You can expect Kyrie to either ask for a new big contract in the next off-season. Dallas will either resign him or trade him. He doesn’t fit Flagg’s timeline at all, even though he is a great bball fit.

I don’t.

We are not able to do a proper rebuild with AD and his massive contract.

60m a year and he played a total of 29 games.

You don’t gamble on that

No mistake was made given the injury history, his age and the fact that he wanted a new massive contract there’s no point to hinder your franchise long term. The mistake was trading for him in the first place. If the wizards are smart they sell high

Freeing up AD’s 58m meant they could comfortably take on the contracts of Morez, Aldama, Risacher and de Larrea. Also have the flexibility to match offers for Lively if he gets healthy.

You need a new timeline with coop so it made sense to trade him. Waiting till he played better could’ve helped tho

The problem is his contract. He’a amazing defensivley, and I miss him. BUT he’s getting paid $62M. At that money, AD better be ready to lead a team to the playoffs with the Washington Generals. If he were on the Mavs, the team will be him and Coop, Kyrie maybe, and all your othe pieces are being traded for cap spaces reasons.

IMO: in some sense it was a symbolic break with the atrocious Luka trade. you had to burn all connections to that era to get people invested in the rebuild. as long as AD was wearing a mavs jersey, all you thought about was Luka. i think it was the right move on this basis.

There was a time where many believe he will be firmly above Giannis and Joker all time. Those 2 rocketed past him after 2020 due to injuries.

Even with all those injuries he’s a top 10 power forward all time. He can hang with the upper echelon guys in terms of ability. 2020 AD is one of the best peaks for the position.

He’s only hit 60 games played once in the 2020s.  Buuut he is coming into his extension eligibility and is looking for a last long term payday, so he is incentivised to play through some of the lighter pains.

it would be funny if AD does a Vince Carter of a career. Often injured early career but ended up playing until 40s. lol

MNBA lmao

Lmao bro you’re trigger people calling it the MNBA

Waiting for someone to get injured is weird as fuck

I mean he always get random unrelated injuries. I am not sure if he just really unlucky or actually injury prone. I just tend to think he is really unlucky.

The NBA isn’t restricted by gender. It’s similar-ish to white women pushing “Latinx” and actual Latino people being like wtf

That subReddit has 18 visitors this week and no posts bro

Never thought I’d see this here lmao still a bit uncomfortable seeing it WNBA spaces

This guy hates Jaxson Hayes

Absolutely
