The next generation is stacked but it’s just not all time level. There’s just simply a massive difference between top 20 all time players even and everyone else. I doubt SGA will end his career being higher regarded than Durant

Lebron, Curry, KD can play until they are 45.

I think you might be going too far here. The dropoff can come QUICK. I just can’t believe this one until I see it. I do believe it’s in the realm of the possible it’s just a crazy idea to me that 3 different guys in the same era could ALL have the longest careers ever.

You’re in literally every warriors thread hating lol

still clears all point guards all time so who cares lol

The NBA is the least point guardy it’s ever been.

Sometimes it feels like if you’re under 6’9 and not a distributor, why are you even in the league?

I remember he took awhile to come back, and kind of got shit for it, but it was prob the smartest thing he’s done. You see guys rush back and sometimes it goes badly. KD made sure he was 100% before stepping in the court.

I saw I post somewhere saying “Gods used to suit up in the finals” and I gotta say it’s true. Everyone else is superb, but they will never match the untouchable-ness of the LeBron/Curry finals

it just seems like they’re having fun out on the court (steph especially), even if they’re still psycho competitors deep down

lebron and steph arent good looking outside of having great bodies lol

Exactly, health is basically his only limiting factor. Problem is it’s very limiting lol

Yes but that’s where the age factors in, consistency, fatigue, injuries, that’s the thing that makes these players have worse stats. Otherwise most of the old dudes can come in score 40 any game, like even PG had a crazy start to the season despite being “washed”

Dude if he was in the convos they would randomly start mentioning his defense and completely disregard the greatness

trade him to OKC so KD can see how it’s done /s

kobe rape cases - 1

steph - 0

Curry just better

I grew up on Kobe but Curry’s 22 title run wipes the floor over either of kobes two non-shaq rings

Curry’s #2, option was Andrew Wiggins ffs, I love Wiggs but go look at any other title team and tell me a worse 2nd option

Am i on Youtube?

What what did Kobe do to Stephanie?

The 2010s top end talent was pretty unreal, and they were basically all on pretty well constructed teams.

Like unironically the worst team was likely okc, because Russ is a low efficiency player, but the team was built well and kd helped offset Russ’s efficiency issues

Warriors well built Miami, well built Cavs, well built Spurs, well built Rockets, well built Okc, well built, but as above Russ flawed. Rapters, well built, and the kawhi pickup was a great team Blazers, no lt as good as the above but they were good.

Once kd left the thunder they’re no longer contenders .

So you had the top 5 players almost always on talented contenders throughout the mid 2010s

IDK how many eras something like that would be true, certainly not the 90s for a large portion of the 90s hakeem wasn’t on great teams.

W take

If you’re going to say that people put too much stock in trophy counting, you can just as easily have people argue that Jokic as an individual player has been more impressive than Curry. Or even that Hakeem was grossly underrated by his trophy count.

But then you’d probably lean toward ‘no wait, I do want you to put ENOUGH stock into trophy counting that you put Steph over guys like that’. Sure, but now you’re just choosing the inputs that let you rank Steph as high as possible - which is pretty convenient, right?

Anyway, the biggest problem for Steph’s GOAT case is - obviously - the guy you didn’t mention in your comment because he sort of doesn’t even need to be mentioned. Ultimately at Steph’s best, he was largely not considered the best player in the NBA. Do a “who is the best player in the world?” poll at the end of the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 Finals - Steph’s core prime - and never would Steph have gotten the most votes. 2022 is basically the only point he may have won the poll.

Magic got drafted to a team with the GOAT at the time on it and doesn’t get knocked for being on a stacked team but Curry plays only 2 full years with Durant and gets taxed?

Of Steph’s 18 year career, he has been at an elite level for 14 of them. Durant was here for only 3 years, one of which he was hurt basically the entire playoffs.

Klay was an all star level guy for only 6 seasons until injuries ruined his career. Draymond has been a good player for most of Steph’s career but even he has been more focused on his MMA career the last few seasons. There’s this idea that Steph has always been on stacked teams, when that is far from the truth.

I definitely get that criticism but Magic also had some pretty stacked teams relative to his time too and people don’t really have any issue putting him in the top 5.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying Steph should be a lock for it but I just think he should be in that discussion more.

Lebron played with Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis etc etc. Kobe played with Shaq. Jordan played with Rodman and Pippen. Magic played with Kareem. Duncan played with Robinson. Larry plared with McHale. Why would Steph’s teammates be a knock on him.

How hasn’t he done enough yet?

I think you could say that until the 2022 ring. I mean, I’d still think it’s crazy, but you could at least say it.

You mean Klank?

But it’s not a knock for Magic and Kareem,

Kobe System.

Great insight there bro
