Green is a PoS and should’ve been canned a while ago, but as a professional athlete, it takes a lot to admit that, and I really wish just going to therapy made all of your problems went away. It doesn’t even help some people because they are broken in ways other things can fix but maybe therapy can’t.
Not excusing him still, maybe he said he just went to therapy and didn’t take it seriously or whatever, but I don’t know what he does off the court. I’ve been going to therapies and they haven’t been helping me much, so maybe I’m just taking this personally.
Tbf, therapy aint some magic drug that fixes anger issue like this in an instant.
It’s important to find the right therapist for you. I think therapy can always help. Not to say it’s an easy, smooth, or quick process even when you have one that matches you. But I do think mental health treatment does good when following down that path. Your path.
You’re right, but it’s really just trying to clarify that therapy doesn’t remove the underlying issue – it just teaches you how to confront and embrace those moments when a particular issue rears its head.
Like for alcoholics, it doesn’t erase the alcoholism, it addresses the triggers that would instigate someone’s proclivity to drink and redirect that energy. There’s nothing wrong with therapy and more people should seek it if they have an issue they aren’t able to process through on their own; Green earned kudos for advocated therapy for others, but he only seemingly knows one way to play basketball and it manifests all the wrong responses in him when he does.
