Ayton and Hayes as your big man, Jake Laravia playing 25 minutse a game, Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent 17 and 19 mpg, Marcus Smart 29 mpg, even Lebron had a terrible shooting season last year

Exactly this. Thunder fans have been dismissive of the team around SGA helping his efficiency a ton and his superstar peers not having that same luxury. It’s just been obvious for years that other guys on that Thunder team would be a lot better individually. SGA is still amazing obviously, but I expect that a falloff efficiency wise is coming in a big way.

Not only were there the 28 minutes of 2 way play tonight, 17 of which are from a guy that was on no roster like a week ago, but also many of the role players are expected to take bigger and different roles than they’ve been planning for. Jwill playing the 3, McCain having less of a shoot only role, kenny actually playing, and Ajay being second fiddle (even though he seems to be a natural there). All of those new and or expanded roles will take time to learn and adjust to, both for them and everyone around them.
Of course its easier to be efficient when you have good players around you

Actually the rest of the team did well. For the 39 mins SGA was on court OKC was +7 and for the 9 mins he was resting, OKC was -2. Contrast this to the Lakers game yesterday where when Luka was on the court for 35 mins the Lakers were +27 and for the 13 mins he was off the Lakers were -21. Still a very impressive performance by Shai.
