Kangz operate at a different level of consciousness from you NORMAL teams.

They’re like a dog shelter for washed up players.

Maybe if you put up 25 there and make cute puppy eyes, maybe someone will give you a forever home

Exactly, I wish I could just be an owner for a day and trade to get rid of a disgruntled player. Sometimes trading away something for what is perceived by others to be nothing is the best move. Addition by subtraction could actually make your team better.

Take a look at the Kings salaries for the next four years. They’re spending a lot of money on a core of players that can’t win.

This is a team that has been out of the playoffs for three straight years and they have a grand total of two incoming first round picks.

Came to say this

i think a guy like zach lavine would make sense. similar money, expiring. he’s clearly in a bad situation and unhappy as well. you can live with exchanging that out and getting a chance to restart this summer with cap space. maybe getting a second rounder. kings should be looking to make that swap

Someone on here tried to tell me Sabonis was a top 15 player in the league.

Hornets could use a Sabonis-esque player. I don’t think Naz Reid is enough for him though

Ironically the Jazz can do this with Nurkic, Josh Green, Okogie and Hayes.

My feelings in these kinds of situations is if you’re upset you’re not getting traded renegotiate your contract to a number another team wants to trade for

Hmmm who is making a lot of money with ties to Sac…

So Porzingis, picks and $20mil more. Got it!

I’d probably be all over that and I think pairing Jalen Green next to Acuff would probably be disaster.

Jalen Green Darius Acuff jr and Zach lavine on the same teams starting five means that only 2 people would play defense and never get the ball while the others take turns shooting the game away.

Hell no

Thats about as good slash realistic deal as I would think they’d get.

U wanna see sac backcourt chucking up 100s of shots each game huh

Jalen green and Darius acuff backcourt would take up 90% of the kings posessions

God I remember Jalen Green’s draft comp was…Zach Lavine lmao.

As a Suns fan, I’d do it. Jalen Green is what he is and as impactful Mark Williams was for us last year, I have no faith in him to be healthy enough to be a consistently reliable option. Yes, I know Sabonis is awful defensively, can’t shoot, and injury-prone, but at least he can rebound, pass, and offers size (which are our three biggest needs right now).

Might have to attach more. No one wants Green. Why would they? He hasn’t improved as a playmaker or really, at anything?

I think Atlanta and Golden State could also make sense. Maybe Toronto if they’d be willing to trade RJ Barrett. I think RJ is really good, but they do want an upgrade at center over Poetl

I’ve kind of always thought Jalen Green makes since as a Sacramento King. Like not in a roster fit sort of way, purely in a vibes sort of way. That’s arguably insulting to Jalen and I’m sorry because I really like him as a person, but I just always imagined he’d end up there one day. It’s like the team for him

As a Suns fan, it’d be a maybe. Sabonis’ defence is awful and I hate it, MW feels better, but ofc the rebounding, size and passing would complement well with what the Suns need, which is more playmaking avenues and being better on the defensive glass.

He can’t be on a contender. Any team where Sabonis makes 45 million is automatically not a contender.

Poeltl RJ and the Clippers pick swap for money match and Sabonis straight up

Sacramento is reportedly very high on RJ

I love him but I’d love to get off this Poeltl contract more

Not going to surprise me if there are lots of takers around the trade deadline. His contract isn’t terrible and there have been injuries to bigs on notable teams already.

There doesn’t need to be a logical fit if there’s a team looking to switch things up

Listen, imagine this. Giannis, Bam, sobonis. Spo had a big hand in small ball. Let’s rejuvenate big ball. That team is gonna 3 peat. Make it happen Pat.

Unless…

If the wizards end up having to trade AD for contract reasons, Sabonis could work next to Sarr. But it would have to be a 3 team deal.

AD goes to a good team who needs him

Sabonis goes to the Wizards with some draft capital

SAC gets a salary dump and also some draft capital

Raps do need his style of play at the 5. But not at his price, no way.

These dudes push for $200M + contracts that they aren’t actually good enough for, desparate small markets have to pay it to keep them, and then get mad when other teams don’t want to trade for them. Like c’mon, dude, you knew you were stuck in sac as soon as the ink was dry and that was never going to stop you. Just get the rebound for acuff and cash the checks.

Raps, Clippers, Suns, Hornets (Maybe?) all could at least use his archetype. Maybe even Pistons if you’re insane enough.

For the Jazz, the offense would be awesome. The pairing of him with Jaren Jackson Jr would be great because JJJ is a weak rebounder but Sabonis is a terrific rebounder, and JJJ can protect the rim which Sabonis can’t. But I still think the Jazz won’t do a deal because of the contract situations.

I made a video on this here if anyone wants to check it out:

https://youtu.be/BdKM1908MDc

LAC of Ingram. They could use his rebounding and passing.

Hornets might be interested

I could see a world near the deadline where the FA market dries up and the Hawks decide to roll their cap space forward to 2028 by trading a bunch of their expirings for Sabonis. I don’t think that they’d do that given how Onsi’s operated up to this point, but if their intel says that they’d strike out in FA and the Kings’ asking price goes down to something like 3 of McCollum/Kispert/Landale/DFS + 2RPs then I think it might turn into a “might as well” situation

warriors would probably do it.

Suns

Harden for Sabonis?

That would be funny, funnier than hali for sabonis. Well some fans would find hali for sabonis funnier.

Sabonis would be absolutely perfect playing next to Wemby, but yeah this ain’t happening for a variety of reasons.

It can happen but in a 3way on a team that wants fox. We got no good players but we are set on PG

It’s crazy that in a league where almost nobody is afraid to shoot, the Kings had 2 guys on the roster to start the year that hate shooting outside the restricted area

He’ll no doubt pull a Blake Griffin.  Just like Blake suddenly became able to dunk after joining the Nets, Sabonis will no doubt stop being afraid to shoot after leaving Sacramento.

It’s sad that I don’t know if Acuff having a 257% usage rate lowers Sabonis’ trade value because you can’t showcase him, or raises his trade value because you can hide him.

It’s so insane that when we traded for him, he was considered automatic from mid-range. Now he can score only when he bricks his own layup.

Half the reason for the lack of a market is that cap number is a bitch to match mid-season.

All this shit makes you wonder how they even had that one year. Like did their GM get a head injury, make great moves and then recover back to being a dumbass? I don’t follow the Kings, I just remember that season and then ever since it’s just been total shit.

They drafted Hali. But then they obviously had to fuck that up.

Staukas

And even that year was predicated on having trade Haliburton for Sabonis

I think his issue is the play of Acuff and Lavine. Get their own shot with no regard to the other 4 and how smart of a shot it is.

I kinda wish the NBA could do what the NFL does and pay part of the contract that’s being traded. Sabonis would be way more sought after if the Kings were willing to pay part of his deal to facilitate a move.

Man i might be high but I kinda think him as the 4 next to Wemby would wreck defenses. Sabonis is great on the offensive end and Wemby is enough of a monster that he could help cover for him on defense.

I guess it just really depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for someone that can be the third best player on a 40 to 50 win team, average a double double, and do so efficiently then he might be nderrated because a lot of people probably think he can’t do that and I believe he still can

If you’re looking for someone to give you 30 plus minutes in a playoff environment And still give you a chance to beat genuinely good teams in a seven game series …then no, I don’t think he’s underrated because I simply don’t see any reason to believe there’s any shot in hell he can hold up in that kind of environment defensively exploitable players get run off the court

He’s one of the easiest to exploit players on that end in the entire league

Regular season merchant. He can’t defend and can’t shoot. Got exposed in the playoffs

The issue as you said is his contract, as a raptors fan i would love to trade for him but it would require rj barret/immanuel quickly and poeltl’s contract. Obviously trading poeltl for sabonis is a positive but imo RJ and quickley are kind of underrated, I like RJ more as a player (also I am stupid and silly and like having a canadian on the team lol) but quickley’s playmaking is important because it doesn’t put too much pressure on scottie to have to be a great playmaker. I suppose on paper it would be worth it though. Sabonis might be a poor defender but the raptors are elite defensively and sabonis is all time great at rebounding and has an amazing touch at the rim.

Are you the kings gm? I don’t believe you lol

I love Sabonis but he doesn’t fit on a good team.

It’s enticing but he doesn’t really fix any of our issues at the 5

And he dont have AIDs!

Bona for Caldwell who says no?

I’ve been poisoned by my Sacramento constituents!

Salary match problem

Who can they give up for Sabonis? Draymond and Porzingis? Doubt even the Kings are going to be wanting Porzingis right now.

Nah. I’d rather not see the other 4 players have to cover for Sabonis’ defense

Didnt the Warriors center just score like 30?

If they want to keep Jimmy and Draymond, the only salary match is Porzingis, Moody, Horford, Melton and Will Richard, which at that point, is a net downgrade since they need a deep roster to maintain Steph’s health

He’s type center Kerr would absolutely play around, great passing and rebounding. Unfortunately history with Draymond and salary won’t ever make sense. Personally I think he’s solid piece somewhere just have to find right to fit. Kings is just where vets end their careers.

I think there’s a slight difference in salary

Pwill+Claxton for Sabonis is what i think happens, Sabonis is a nice fit with most of the roster tbh

We kept getting labeled as a tanking team last year but our FO has been trying to build a competitive team this whole time. Every year the goal is to win and they just keep making a worse and worse team

Many of us are taking a gap year or two

I had to stop for my own sake.

I’ve always thought sabonis with a rim protecting big would be good, jjj, mobley or wemby would be great with sabonis’s passing and rebounding

JJJ even at his worst is way better than Sabonis

It’s just the Utah Jazz and no one else.

Jazz, Wizards top 2 imo. Send Davis somewhere else.

Sabonis needs a lot of touches to be effective, and I kinda feel like San Antonio already has enough guys on the team that need touches. Spacing wise, I’m not sure if all the slashers would necessarily love a guy that wants to live in the high post

I’d honestly love to see it, but at his price I doubt he makes enough sense for them to try it out

It’s really one of the few teams he’d be great at. But who do Sac get back? Tobias Harris, Carter Bryant and Keldon Johnson? Maybe throw in Fox to open up a 3 team deal since Harper is a starter now

Fox and Domas don’t like each other anymore unfortunately

I can’t think of many players I’d want less to be honest. Spurs just drafted bigs on good contracts. Fox has had a brilliant start to the year. And haven’t even seen how lineups with Tobias Harris go yet.

A great way to sink the spurs title contention!

Wemby is not a floor spacer.

And Harrison Barnes!
