luka doesn’t need to foul bait at the rim because he gets fouled on Every Single Drive because he’s the most dangerous rim finisher we’ve maybe ever seen. he isn’t attacking it in order to preserve his body. shooting a large amount of 3s is much better for longevity.

I don’t think you actually watch

His shot selection has been sooo goood. Everything we’ve been wanting for years

I always thought it was a fatigue thing. Its much harder to continuosly drive all game.

Extreme foul baiting occurred in the magic game.

Should actually analyze things like their FGA while driving the ball or at the rim. FGA on jump shots don’t really matter for FTA for Deni like they do Luka or Tatum. He doesn’t have the jumper abilities them two have to bait far from the rim

Get more disciplined as a defender don’t jump when they’re not gonna fucking shoot it. This foul baiting narrative is so fucking played out. Get the fuck over it. It’s been like this the entire entirety of fucking basketball. Everybody is trying to look for a fucking advantage. It’s what you do in sports.

Running backs

Yeah except Deni does this and converts the and 1s at an extremely high rate. It’s not like he’s out of control he’s just physical on his drives.

They’re more legit then flailing and jumping into someone after your clamped

Deni is at least trying to score. The other guys are throwing up shots that have zero chance to go in

Hence why Deni also lead the NBA in and-ones

Ant dropped 45 on opening night with 5 FTA, then 47 right before his surgery with 6 FTA.

Guys who play strong like Ant or Scottie don’t get those calls.

Yeah seems like this thread has no clue on on metrics that would lead to a higher FT rate. Drives per game, USG%, etc are all a big reason as to why someone would shoot more FTs and Luka just so happens to be at the top of those metrics the same way Deni is.

So do you believe SGA forgot how to draw fouls or the refs are just swallowing their whistle because idiots bitched and moaned about the wrong guy for 3 years?

Tatum drew 9 free throws on three different 3 point fouls against the magic.. all of them were real fouls, only 1 was a little scummy with the pump fake jump into franz.. if that becomes part of tatums game regularly the leauge is in trouble.

Said the same thing about Shai but y’all called him a foul baiter lmao

He genuinly isnt that great at driving to the basket or middies anymore. Majority of his points come from behind the 3pt line which is statistically the least fouled shot in the NBA.

Any smart coach would tell Luka to bulldoze through the lane if hes getting calls on 50% of his shots in the paint.

Or is it just becoming obvious that he has a disgusting whistle, the likes we have never seen.

Even prime steph who took a similar amount of 3s never took anywhere near the FTA luka does and hes got a crazy midrange/paint game

You arent listening to the point being made here and why Lukas numbers are questionable to say the least.

Its not about the the amount of shots being taken here, both SGA and Luka are taking just under 25 shots a night.

The difference is that almost 20 of SGAs shots are coming from the paint (where most people in NBA history get fouled) and Luka is taking 14 of his 25 shots behind the 3pt line, an area where players rarely get fouls called.

How is Luka converting more fouls in the paint than prime Giannis, SGA, MJ, Kobe, Wade and Iverson?

Like I agree he is offensively a beast, but let’s be real he purposefully jumps into defenders and throws up a trash shot to get a call when in a bad spot. If he doesn’t get his way he’ll cry to the official until it’s time to be back on offense. It’s happened too many times to not mention.

Lakers fans are really trying their best to convince themselves that Luka doesn’t flop

Not from Deni’s team. At least Luka looks like he’s having fun out there. Deni is the same amount of complaining and entitlement, without Lukas shot making, and he’s wearing a puss every second of his life.

No they’re not lol.

Luka is not athletic enough to score 90% of the time at the rim. Which is why he foul baits in the paint

If we’re being honest, pump faking in or near the paint is not even close to the only kind of flopping or foul baiting Luka does. He 1000% does the same petulant little throw my hands up and look to the ref move that all the stars feel they’re entitled to do when there is a slight amount of contact around screens or isolation dribbles. His whistle is so soft behind the arc that it borders on being ridiculous. He doesn’t do the barrel in to people and flail like Giannis or Deni, but he gets stopped before a drive can even start all the time and he’ll just give up and look the the ref.

He’s shooting 10 FT per game and has 1.5 FGA per game within five feet. Thats foul baiting man. It’s hilarious you’re defensive about it. Stop being such a homer, it’s obvious that you’re biased.

Correct. Because if he’s not drawing a foul, he’s only shooting if it’s a clear shot. Not hard to understand

Keep crying about it
