Dude is averaging 23 and is essentially the second most efficient scoring guard in the league. Next to Luka. He’s had a couple games where he’s turned the ball over way too much which this stat doesn’t show. But I think that was more flukey.

He was insane the first 4 games. North of 81ts%. Something insane like that. We are hitting the regression I think and he’s played the most minutes out of anyone on our roster so far (and 2nd most in the league) so he might be exhausted. He seems in his head too with the high turnovers. He’ll bounce back soon

He’s had two bad games a couple mid ones and a couple good ones

If it wasn’t for the high turnover games I’d be satisfied but those do hurt

He’s had 2 bad games and 4 great games.

in the three Lakers games I’ve watched the eye test tells me Reaves has been pretty bad

Did you watch the last three games?

First 4: 27 PPG on 82% TS

Last 3: 19 PPG on 50% TS

Confirmation bias

Last night was the 6th road game, longest travel from bay area, after long minutes and a L, to way other side to Toronto. He’s human, there’s going to be bad nights, just like Luka had a worst game vs. Clippers a week ago.

Hes a little streaky but is efficient even if it doesnt always look it. The combination of 3s and free throws is strong, just results in some games that look ugly.

A little bit of prime Harden to his game where the shot distribution is good enough where it can be still offensively elite overall despite some games that are tough to watch.

Reaves isn’t playing at his best to start the season, even though the averages and efficiency may look alright. He probably had like 2 or 3 good games so far. When he is at his best, he is an efficient scoring guard who doesn’t turn the ball over that much, and gets to the line a lot which helps the TS%. But right now he is having an issue with turnovers to start the season.

Reaves does not miss that many shots, has some horrible turnovers tho because he can’t dribble when there are physical defenders

He’s a good free throw shooter that benefits from the Lakers regular season whistle.

Guaranteed FTs are huge for TS%

I had to double-take earlier when I saw that he was shooting over 43% from 3 on almost 14 fucking attempts per game lmao He’s having of the craziest starts to a season of all time.

His FT% is crazy high, 89%. If he keeps this up, basically his only minor flaw on offense is going to be erased. 75% is not bad even for pure scorers, but if they go beyond 85%, that is a whole nother level

Pretty decent performance, probably puts him just behind Zion on the MVP ladder.

Unfortunately this impacts Ty Jerome’s MVP case 🥲

The Mavericks really just gave Luka to the Lakers

Laker fans in general suck but redditors on the lakers sub are an entirely different breed of entitled and delusional.

Maybe they’re looking at his performance on both ends of the court and not just glazing him. Austin Reaves is turning the ball over everytime he even thinks about doing a crossover.

Old ass unc Draymond Green, stripped him like a tijuana prostitute a few nights ago.

Lol I honestly thought he was having a crazy dip with how he was being talked about

reaves is great, most people just acknowledge he’s not really a “winning” fit next to luka, they’re going to need some crazy defenders around them to help make it work and they don’t really have that

history shows us like 10-20 games of heavy minutes for these two will have them limping/banged up

we’ll see if they can maintain, especially since it already looks wobbly and they’ve kinda only played pretty mid/shit teams so far

Through 6 games that season, Steph was averaging 36 PPG on 76% TS

Funny thing is, this season curry is also averaging 8 points fewer on 69% TS. Curry mvp season loading..

I mean for any position it’s insane

Can we stop pretending that Luka is a guard?

He is a point forward like Lebron or Simmons.

Dude ist 6’8 and 230lbs+

What guard is that big?

Obviously his numbers are still insane

The regular/postseason splits for Reaves are crazy. Literal double digit decreases in efficiency.

Too small of a sample size but so far

With Luka he has 78% TS and 50% without him but it’s 95 mins so

Last year Reaves had a better TS% without Luka

He’s just an ultra efficient player, he can draw free throws, he takes his time, he can shoot, his playstyle is just efficient

They’re both worse when the other isn’t on the floor. Luka less so of course, but their net rating is fantastic when both are on the floor. It’s really hard for teams to defend both when leaving either will result in a bucket or lob. The other thing is, when it’s just AR out there, teams know they can just double him and he’ll have to pass out of it. Luka, not so much, he’ll find a way to score regardless, but AR drawing attention still makes that much easier

Bro will beat 83 against Bam tonight

When do we play the kings and Milwaukee?

7 games into the season lolCalm down

eh i mean don’t let laker fans look to see what happens when they played good teams last year

luka was playing like this and they played OKC and AR and luka both got bitched in the first quarter and they got blown out

we need to see how they do for the season, are they going to hold up playing heavy minutes with the mediocre defense/turnover issues? are they going to play better against the good teams?

they score a lot but i feel like teams like spurs/okc (if healthy) and the timberwolves are gonna kinda dog walk them in a playoff series because AR has problems with athletic pressure and they’re not really athletic enough to be going full speed constantly

58%. Above average. Did you think you were making a point?

Higher than SGA’s. No lie. It’s true.
