That was such a weird outburst for a guy who seemed very in control emotionally.

Yeah I was watching the game and there wasn’t even any trash talk before this happened. Everyone was just kind of playing. I’m sure it was just a moment of frustration and he’ll be fine

He got off way easy considering how premeditated it was.

Disappointed and definitely deserved this. He’ll learn from this. He’s a good kid (I hope).

I really wish this is a one off thing and he learns from it but man you can’t be doing this 😭

So, the precedent is that you can sucker-punch someone with a direct elbow to the face and only get 1 game off?

That is truly insane.

I mean we saw wemby do it , they don’t care

Acrobatic_Quarter465

Ppl like to ignore that. Dude should have had a multi game suspension. Or at least defer it to the next season.

Wemby was being molested by the Timberwolves and got smacked in the face. Kingston just walked up and did it Artest style.

was he also upset about the wolves when he threw brunson down and laughed at him in the finals

ClassicRegular1934

Both teams were playing hard defense. Not an excuse. Especially Castle who constantly gets away with hooking players with his arm.

orangekingo | SAS

Are we really going to pretend that something that happened on-ball during a live play is the same as just walking up to a dude during a dead ball and cheapshotting him?

Nobody should elbow anybody but I definitely think this one was worse.

If his name was Victor would he not get a suspension? Weird.

Interesting_Prune513 | MIA

You’re correct, if he were a much better player, and this would be the playoffs, he wouldn’t.

Julio_Freeman | ATL

7 | 7 hours ago

How good a player is should never factor into a punishment. But I don’t feel there’s a double standard here since Wemby missed most of a playoff game with his ejection.

Now if they both deserved to miss more time is another discussion.

And also wouldn’t have to answer to the media about it during a playoff series.

Is the way it happened not completely different? Wemby was being held by McDaniels with both arms and was trying to rip him off him

I think what Flemings did to get suspended is way worse than what Alvarado did. Like sucker punched him but with his elbow.

And ironically Alvarado got suspended for two games for his altercation with Mark Williams.

Lu Dort teaching his discipline well. If something this blatant can only get a one-game suspension, wonder what other shit he’s gonna be able to get away with.

[Charania] Hawks guard Kingston Flemings has been suspended one game for intentionally elbowing Pelicans guard Bryce McGowens in the head.
