The Sacramento Kings are the last winless team in the NBA
With the Nets getting their first win against Indiana, Kings remain only winless team.
What are your thoughts?
Are they truly the worst team in the league?
I’ll respect them more if they went 0-82
still respecting bam with only 82 losses
With our rookie averaging 30/4/4 haha
You think Silver would give us an honorary 1st overall pick that superseded the tanking rules if the Kings broke the 10-72 record?
no
Id look at you like this shit gravy
“Disqualified.”
-Adam Silver
You guys play the Hawks any time soon? We like giving teams their first win
So happy about these new tanking rules, they surely won’t just end up punishing truly bad teams like us 🤩🤩
The Bulls and Bulls West (i.e. the Kings) have shown year after year that they exist solely to distribute valuable assets to the rest of the league at a discounted price.
Woah woah, we are not the defacto bad team in the east
I dont remember the Kings being Bulls West until they made the decision to trade for both LaVine and DeRozan after seeing it not work out in Chicago.
I didn’t say that the Bulls were. But I did suggest that they shed valuable role players for not much in return.
Hornets and Nets (assuming Wizzers have actually turned the page)
Plus your fanbase is usually pretty optimistic when they bring a new young guy
New management at the Bulls. Settle down.
The Bulls also exist to sell merch and somehow still sell out home games.
A team theoretically going 0-82 and ending up with the 12th pick is insane lmfao
My cope is we could’ve done it right and been out of the bottom 3, only to get the 15th pick.
What’s ironic is that Kings from 2024-2026 would be the exact sort of team that could have benefited from the new lottery system.
Never had one of the 3 worst records and was either a play-in team or one of the remaining non-play in teams each of those 3 seasons.
Unfortunately you guys got fucked over at the worst time.
Genuinely, how did you all end up like this after the Fox trade?
Last I heard Kings fans all wanted Fox gone and that he didn’t care, so building around Sabonis with 3PT shooters is the memo and they got back an AllStar who shoots 40% from 3s.
My cope is that at least they found THE guy in Acuff, so there’s not as much need for top pick/superstar player in the next draft (although obviously would always be preferred). Can try to find a defensive player with offensive potential with a low end lottery pick to pair with Acuff.
It’s like having to worst record in the league for the season and then getting punched in the nuts as the reward
Knowing the Kings that’s exactly what would happen if they go 0-82.
Real basketball historians will never forget the “light the beam” year. Cherish that moment forever.
We talk about the beam as if it was a close friend we lost.
They will have plenty of downside but it still beats having a third of the league tanking for half the season
Does it? Is teams that weren’t going to go anywhere that year playing hard in March more important than those teams (especially if they’re currently bad and in a small market) having a clear path to improve themselves?
Need a full rebuild. When Fox and Brown left it warranted building back from the ground up. Fox wasn’t enough to lead a team. What made anyone think that a washed Derozan and LaVine could salvage the team?
Trade everyone and build around Acuff.
This right here 👆🏻
Better FG% than Jalen Brunson btw
What a dumbass comment. As a 19 year old pg he’s averaging 3x Cam’s career apg
Tell me you don’t watch the games without telling me you don’t watch the games 😭
The point of the new tanking rules is to prevent teams from intentionally losing, not to prop up incompetent teams like the Kings.
Teams don’t need a constant supply of top picks just to not be one of the 3 worst teams in the league, and if they do they should be forced to sell the team to owners who knows how to tie their own shoelaces.
The point of the new ranking rules was to placate gambling companies, small market teams that are at the bottom having a very limited path to improve is just a side effect
Shoutout to gambling companies then if they’re the ones fixing the problem of teams rigging games and intentionally losing
I think the rules is designed to incentivize you to operate like an NBA team instead of doing what you guys are currently doing
hard to operate like an NBA team when you are not incentivised by the league to operate like an NBA team.
Prior to the real end of season tanking last year the Kings were trying to win games and were the worst team in the NBA.
They got investigated for tanking a game at the end of last season and when investigated the NBA decided they were just incompetent.
The Kings are bad because of Vivek. These rules just penalize shit owners more, which is good.
Well they also are penalizing the fans… not sure what I have to look forward to besides Acuff continuing to ball out
It’s professional sports, some team has to be the worst, how exactly are you going to prevent that? What about fans of the next team who will become the worst after the league decides to bail the Kings out for being poorly run?
But now the issue is the worst team is going to stay the worst. There is no way out without a good draft pick except attracting a free agent… Which free agency is pretty much dead.
It’s bad for a team to be bad for a long time. You lose the fan base.
Yeah what about us
Some team has to be the worst but do you really want it to be the same team forever? And the day the league bails US out for being poorly run, is the day hell freezes over lmao
Clearing out the cap sheet and using it more responsibly?
Our owner is incapable of making winning basketball choices. He will continue to make the absolute worst decision every time one is put in front of him, I have no faith that him or anyone he hires can put together a competent roster even if he had unlimited funds and could take any player he wanted from any team.
We’re gonna clear cap space just to end up with Kuminga and Kuzma
Doesn’t happen unless Vivek suddenly becomes competent, which won’t happen, owners won’t ever force other owners to sell their teams for basketball reasons, so permanent suckitude it is.
Free agency doesn’t really exist right now.
lol he got pimped for NBA India with Silver and when he was a minority owner of the Warriors (seems like he still is) y’all were bragging about the diverse ownership group, etc.
Matina Kolokotronis is still in Sac. 27 years now. Until she and her cronies are gone, there’s no bright side in Sactown.
They’ll punish truly bad front offices. Which, is a good thing.
Why shouldn’t you guys be the worst? Worst head coach and worst owner simultaneously.
It used to be that IF you’re the worst, then you can get a great young player to try and restart and build around, why is this such a hard concept for people?
Because it doesn’t matter when you’re an incompetent franchise like the Kings, you guys had both Haliburton and Fox and traded them away for peanuts.
This doesn’t even include passing up Doncic lol
And kings have squandered that again and again. Kings have gotten great players in the last fewer years prior to the change, but has always shot themselves in the foot with awful front office decisions. The league isnt going to cater the rules for one team. Unfortunately, one team will have to be the most bleak, and it is no longer hornets or pelicans.
Wellll I wouldn’t count out those other teams yet lol
Yeah and then people got tired of watching young players flame out playing for garbage franchises
Because as great as Darius is, turning an entire franchise as awful as the Kings around by himself is too much of an ask. He will be amazing no matter what but when everything around him stinks, what is he really supposed to accomplish?
Are you unaware that concept has been getting exploited for the last 40 years, getting worse and worse every year?
then you can get a great young player to try and restart and build around
Don’t you guys have that though? maybe IF you guys didn’t trade for whatshisname, sign DeRozan, and keep sabonis so long you’d be better off
I think you guys are misinterpreting what im saying - im not saying that the kings deserve to be saved. Yes, we fucking suck, Vivek is the worst, DC shouldn’t be coaching a NCAA team let alone an NBA one, and we fucked up the beam team.
My issue is that for every other team, they were allowed to restart after they fucked up. But with these new rules it’s pretty fuckin hard to do that without fleecing in trades and doing stuff like that. That doesn’t really seem fair to me.
They expect one of us in the wreckage brother
Are you not allowed to get a top pick or something? Genuinely asking
They get fewer balls in the lottery to give them a chance at the first pick than the 4th worst team
The problem is you guys also sucked at the old tanking rules. Last years team was much worse than many of the teams that finished below them in the standings
yeah because this year is the first of the kings being dogshit. its clearly the new tanking rules holding you guys back
why would adam silver care about smaller market teams? the nba never has!
The OKC thunder are one of the main benefiters of the old tanking rules, although I agree with you that’s not what im tryna say here
I think Rockets ans Spurs benefitted more they both had more top 10 and 5 picks.
i get it. i just don’t agree with the changes, the draft and trades are usually the only ways a bad team can build themselves back up
Absolutely, people are so stupid if they don’t understand that the only reason tanking is a recognized issue now, is so that Adam Silver and gambling company’s can make a shit ton of money now that teams aren’t going to be sitting players or sneakily throwing games to get higher picks
Getting SGA was more important than any player they got via tanking.
Sure, but they still drafted Chet and Josh Giddey (who was flipped for Caruso, arguably a top 4 important player in their championship run) from their direct tank
I mean, no one is forcing you guys to have a rookie chuck 100 shots a game.
He’s the only thing worth watching on this dogshit team.
I think the major thing is coaching. I don’t believe Mike Brown would have this team in the playoffs or anything, but we wouldn’t be far and away the worst team in the league like we are now.
He’s both our best player, and our only good player
Err, Sabonis and Lavine are AllStars and Keegan was a No. 4 pick.
Keegan fucking sucks
Lavine fucking sucks.
I’d say Sabonis is the best player but Acuff is 2
me when I pull bullshit out of my ass
Even if you got the 1st overall and drafted someone good you’d just trade them for someone who’s 34 a few years later.
Not like your team made advantage of the old rule or even multiple high level pics. You had the 2nd pick and chose Marvin Bagley lol come on.
This really was my fear lol.
We might just end up with an NBA underclass
Your team has been awfully mismanaged, becoming Bulls west and still being shit doesn’t mean you deserve a better pick
Noone forced the Kings to make terrible move after terrible move. Why should they be rewarded?
Coming from a mavericks fan is irony in its purest form I fuckin love it
That… doesn’t make any sense
Yall made THE terrible move in sports history by trading Luka Doncic, and got rewarded with the Number 1 pick with Cooper Flagg. Can’t tell if you’re being serious
Fox on this team wouldnt change anything, he wasnt the problem nor the solution
To be fair to Fox, you were 3rd seed, 6th seed when he left then you lads just nosedive all the way to the bottom overnight after the trade.
I don’t know what ‘solution’ you are referring to cause if it’s playing for playoffs, he clearly shown that he is (solo carried every post season with no help),
but if you are expecting a championship after 1 year of playoffs in 20 years, then I can say you are the problem. LOL.
Y’all were never going to be shit anyway.
Well this ensures it!
Imagine being a Chargers and Kings fan rn 💀
dolphins and kings here.. not much better
Dolphins at least look competitive and I like their future.
heard it too many times lol we’ll see what adding drew mestemaker or jeremiah smith adds
I’d like to enjoy our present for once…
Least I got the Thunder.
…oh wait
damn there are dozens of us
Haha same here
Chargers and Clippers, we’re pretty close!
I’m a Carolina Panthers/Kings fan. It’s not much better here.
Are you from North Carolina?! That’d be hilarious because I am but I still decided to be a Raiders and Kings fan when I was young lmao
I’m not from there but I lived there when they became a team in ‘95 when I was starting to get into football.
Tfw your roster is chargers, padres, Kings.
I’m a chargers fan as well and my team in the AFL (Australian Rules Football) finished last on the ladder with the worst record the club has had in its 120+ year history but at least we got Pick 1 in the draft lmao
Eagles & Kings. 6 straight losses with both my teams
How are my cowboys doing? I haven’t watched much nfl since basketball started.
They’re ass
Just lost to the Cardinals lol, altho I guess that’s to be expected
I’m here to tell you the Kings are almost certainly going 0-10, from there they may have a couple opportunities at a win, and if they don’t it could become all time bad territory.
Facts, we’ve lost games by an average of 19 points. That tells you that we can’t even win against the best team unless they have a catastrophically bad shooting performance
I feel like Lakers will be their best chance at a win for a long while, purely because Lakers defense is so bad it allows Acuff, Lavine, and Sabonis to go crazy.
I don’t think people wanted to build around Sabonis, but there are certainty fans that think Fox as your #1 is not viable(it isn’t). The truth is the Beam Team was a bit of fools gold, they squeezed every bit they could out of what they had there and it topped out at 48 wins in a down year in the West and first round exit. The rest is just typical Kings shit. Bad owner, bad decisions. Doug Christie is legitimately an awful coach, like worst of all time levels.
thing is next year yall has 46 wins. it at least showed it wasn’t like a fluke or anything, jus needed to upgrade a bit in the midst of okc/wolves rise.
then yall got demar
Vivek has a mandate for any coach/GM of the Kings to always be competitive/to make the playoffs ASAP and never lose on purpose. That means the short term is always prioritized. The Kings (a) never tank and therefore never get a good pick (by winning meaningless games at the end of the season against teams tanking or resting their stars for the playoffs) and (b) trade for players that make the team competitive at that moment in time (i.e., past stars/good players b/c no current stars would go to Sac and Sac lacks the trade capital to land current stars/pair them with other stars). If you have to be competitive and never get good picks, then you end up trading for washed up/aging players who might have one last chance to get you to the playoffs (but this never works out). Comes out simply to stubborness from Vivek. He also tends to hire based on nepotism/“friends of the team” (e.g., Vlade - a horrible GM, his daughter running/fucking our G league team, him hiring Scott Perry as our new GM without any interviews/process, Doug Christie as our HC because he’s a former player and been involved with the org for years, etc.).
The answer is Doug Christie
kings gunna end with the worst record of all time
If they win about 2 games a month between now and ASB, they’ll have 8 wins.
Then, they’ll starting facing a lot of teams who’ll rest players knowing they’re playing against the Kings. That could be another 7-8 wins.
They should win 15 games by accident. The last team to not do that was the Process Sixers and they were actually much worse than the Kings right now.
as a kings fan, we might not even get a win until late November lol the team is bad bro. i was exited to watch acuff at the beginning of the year but everyone else on the roster is absolute dog water
Even in the desert dog water is refreshing lol 😆
I’m trying to figure out which month we’re gonna win 2 games. Because it wasn’t October (preseason included) and it ain’t looking like November
Doubt it tbh. We’ve seen teams with much less talent
I have never seen a team so aimlessly coached with a bunch of non-fitting players. It’s like they tried as hard as they could to get the exact worst combination of players.
Acuff, Sabonis and Lavine are all offensive players. All flawed to atrocious on defense. You need to pair all three of them with very particular players if you want to be good. Acuff is 19 and while it makes sense to build around him and he has shown a lot he is going to be inefficient and struggle on defense.
Sabonis needs a shooter that can block shots next to him and that type of player is extremely rare in the NBA. LaVine also needs defenders next to him.
They have Murray, who is a good defender but hasn’t been a good shooter in a while and they have Hunter who is a good shooter but not a good defender.
Their backup center is limited defensively, and is injured Monk also isn’t the best defender.
On top of this the veterans are checked out and desperately want out of the organization. The entire team needs a “new start in a different environment”
The Kings need a different coach and they need a rim running center and 3 and D guy if they don’t want to end up with a 10-72 record or whatever.
In a 82 game season that’s 11 wins. They will reach that number purely by accident, but they will do it.
I’m looking at their schedule and yeah, not looking good.
Viveked.
I wonder if he’s gonna do another roast of the players and coaches
What’s up with famous people being named Vivek being major idiots (ie Ranadive and Ramaswamy)
This is the team that Westbrook said he’d rather retire than play for btw
Man they been the worst team for the last decade
I remember the beam
I wonder if it still works. Maybe they dust it off and test it out every now and then just to make sure.

My pistons held the title for a couple years. But it really does look like sac is running for that losingest team record this year.
The other day I googled the longest losing stream to start the season. 15-16 76ers and 09-10 Nets at 18 games. That 76ers team beat the Kings around December of that season as one of their 10 wins. Next 14 games, 3 away & 11 home: 11⁄2 @ DAL, 11⁄7 vs LAL, 11⁄9 vs SAS, 11⁄8 vs MIA, 11⁄10 vs ORL, 11⁄13 vs POR, 11⁄15 vs OKC, 11⁄18 vs PHX, 11⁄20 @ LAL, 11⁄21 vs BOS, 11⁄23 vs SAS, 11⁄25 @ GSW, 11⁄29 vs MIN, 11⁄30 vs NOP
And of course you know that 10 more losses would mean tying the Pistons. There’s a Pistons following youtuber named Kofie who did a check in on the Kings Pelicans after last Thursday’s game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psTI6Mw2Lvc He purposefully wanted to appraise lesser followed teams so I hope he keeps it up throughout the season
there’s something in that arena
They might be but id rather be a Kings fan than a Pelicans fan because atleast they had the beam season. I feel like the Pelicans havent had anything since AD left lol
Hey we were good when we broke the playoff drought. It took steph going god mode in a game 7 for the dubs to win that series
Found the Laker fan
They’ve been the worst team in the league for a while. Aside from their ‘light the beam’ season, they’ve been ass for the past 20 years.
As a Mavs fan, the team that plays them next, I did not enjoy reading this.
As a Kings fan, I can say now with absolute certainty that we are indeed THE worse team in the NBA and might go down as one of the worst seasons of all time not just Kings franchise history but just NBA history.
Darius Acuff is literally the lone bright spot thus far, and that’s why I will fight all slander against him, I don’t think people quite understand just how dogshit this team is.
Keep in mind we are missing, Keegan Murray, Ben Simmons (LOL), Max Raynaurd (desperately needed) and Dylan Cardwell (Very much needed)
Our starting 5 is already pretty problematic, but now we have probably the worse depth and bench in the league, I think the last game Grizzles had 80 bench points to our 10.
I wish Acuff got more credit, just because someone has a green light does not mean they simply just produce, I know he had a rough start first two games, but after that he has been incredible, and the fact he is doing on this team is insane.
De’Andre Hunter has been playing decent as of lately also, but that’s about it.
I have never in my life seen so many teams who can simply run-down full court at a mild to even slow speed, and simply take it coast to coast without any handles, or skill of any sort, and have a completely free ticket to the rim.
We also can’t guard a 3-point shot for our lives, so like free ticket to the rim, warm up 3’s, yeah this is going to be a bad year.
I need a go fund me page to help fund for my depression and weed addiction, to get through this shit.
HANG THE BANNER
So this is what winning feels like. I like it.
We’re still not losingest team in California; that distinction belongs to the Chargers.
Come on man. I was just enjoying my broncos victory :(
Been like 7 months since the beam was lit…
They are trying to do a No Beam run this season. I think it’s an achievement for the platinum.
Acuff is gonna have the greenest of green lights all season long. His efficiency will be terrible but he’s gonna put up a ton of points.
His efficiency has been fine outside of that awful first game.
I’m honestly psyched to see 0-82
Go Kings and Titans baby
Kings could win single digit games and end up picking like 12th. Crazy!
The Nets are great again. League is cooked.
Yes
