The Grizzlies remain undefeated at 6-0
Let’s be honest, everyone saw this coming. We all thought they were gonna be the last undefeated team
Next couple of games look very winnable
Vs PelicansVs PacersVs Thunder (very injured)
Once you’re 9-0, and you take momentum into account, you’re basically at 82-0 already
Actually, why stop there? At that rate, 98-0 is easily achievable.
And Ty Jerome is All-NBA
Guy didn’t even need to play in the last game though.
Grizzlies this year are gonna be the new “can they hit 74-8”
Analytically they already are 82-0.
Thunder is a cup game too, they need to be motivated for that one. No reason to think they won’t be though
My guy have you seen us play these last 2 games
They should be cup favorites.
I feel like their confidence boosts can carry over on the court
they have like half their roster
Pacers obliterated with injuries too
Ours are shorter term injuries fortunately than the Thunder, though we arguably are missing just as much of our team.
Grizzlies/Raptors in a week or so will be interesting. Their guards vs the Raptors defense
Also, Pacers without Haliburton, ouch.
No Haliburton, no Zubac, no McConnel.
So short the PG and backup PG, Center, 2 backup wings along with the 6th man doubtful
Furphy and Sheph aren’t huge deals to be missing, but with other guys missing the lack of depth hurts (Shep our 9/10th man, Furphy had been ~12th in the rotation
9-0 start could be the difference for them in a playoff push towards the end of the season assuming they come back to earth.
Pacers got injuries as well.
Very injured, very vulnerable
You just had to jinx it, didn’t you?
HANG THE BANNER! Jokes aside, I am proud of this team. They play great ball.
As a Blazer fan I’m so happy for Jerami Grant and you guys.
Thanks! I like your squard too. Hopefully Ja comed back healthy. I am looking forward to the next Edey vs Clingan heavy weight bout.
BULLY BALL
MURDERBALL
It really is just a matter of time before the rafters are full at this rate. The grit and grind identity is holding up surprisingly well.
They’ve beat the Kings twice and the Jazz twice. Don’t get too excited
Boo this sad sack
You mean someone just stating facts. 4 of the 6 wins are against 2 of the saddest teams in the history of the nba
Here’s a fact for you: you’re lame HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA
Nobody who is ever “just stating facts” doesn’t come across as an absolute douchebag lmfao let the Grizzlies fans have fun they’ve more than earned it
Jazz were everyone’s dark horse darling in the preseason and we actually had to play one and a half games of a healthy JJJ and Lauri
Kings are in the 9th circle of basketball hell tho
A. The team doesn’t make the schedule. You play who is put in front of you.
B. You’re a goddamn loser.
Have you watched us the last 3 years. Imma get excited as I want.
If this was your team and you had these teams and records you’d be happy, so stuff it
I’m excited
And Golden State…
Didn’t they just beat the Lakers?
6-0 BABY!
Flair up homie.
Fun fact, this ties the best start to a season the grizz have ever had
With possibly the worst roster.
Nah it’s a pretty excellent roster top to bottom
They are fine in the West
GODDAMN STRAIGHT WE ARE!!!!
Narrator: They were not fine. They were in 14th place by December
Fuck you, bro. We talking about NOW
Narrator: The fanbase refused to completely understand that the entire roster was hurt. And with SGA, they felt like they could hold on to a playoff spot. But it wasn’t to be. Turns out the team was doomed for a retread.
real talk why is Memphis in west conference? tennessee is quite close to east coast literally
Grandfathered in from Vancouver
cuz we were from Vancouver, which is famously on the west side of Canada and if we went East, another team would have go to to the west. Also, we’re not that far from our division teams, anyone going west would have more travel than us iirc.
Analytically they’re west coast
Memphis is farther west than every team in the eastern conference.
The alternatives are either:
conferences with 16 and 14 teams, instead of 15 each,
or Memphis swapping conferences with a team that’s even farther east.
Maybe things change after expansion.
We ALL expected this to be the timeline we were in. I mean in the off season it was just constant ‘is this Ty Jeromes mvp season?’
They even won without superstar Ty Jerome.
We may never lose again
shoutout to the Jeff Teague pod for the motivation, I hope someone had this clip playing in the locker room all offseason
Teague’s a funny mf but he don’t know ball
That Daniel Li video confirmed it lmao
I’m sure that the 21-year veteran of the NBA knows way less ball than… You.
there is an overwhelming amount of evidence to suggest that these dudes do not have good basketball takes despite being one of the best basketball players skill wise on this planet
Their team building is ridiculous at times, like Russ to LA.
he has been trashing the grizz since they traded ja. i tune in just to see him react to the wins
Boozer is gonna be so fucking good
He already is
Tuomas Iisalo in the early lead for COTY
They have the early lead for COTY, ROTY, and MIP.
imo they also deserve executive of the year because their draft picks have been excellent the past few seasons
Oh forgot that award. Yea it should be them if they just get into the play-in. The Sixers could win it too if they got first in the conference but that wouldn’t really be fair.
Don’t count out the Sixers new GM too. Way better than that Rockets GM we had who brought us nothing.
Correction. MIP MVP.
I love Boozer and I hope he wins ROTY. But Acuff should be the early favorite for ROTY imo. He is the lone bright spot on that Kings team.
I think Acuff would need to average 26⁄7 to win, assuming all the other rookies play as expected and don’t get injured.
He’s already got this reputation preceding him which hurts (think Glenn Robinson in 95 versus Grant Hill/Jason Kidd despite Robinson putting up bigger stats). More importantly, wins/losses usually don’t matter for ROTY but if your team is going 14-68 and Boozer’s team has a winning record, which is very possible, that’ll matter since it’s just so bad.
I’m not sure he’s a bright spot. Shooting 26 shots a game with horrible efficiency. Terrible body language on certain plays. Doma complaining to the press subtly.
Dude’s incredible. In 2018 he was a nobody coaching in the 2nd German league (where the entire roster combined makes less than a million for the entire season). A few years later he’s the top coach in Germany, gets hired by an ambitious but up and coming Euroleague team in Paris and another 2 years later he’s a head coach in the NBA. Has to be an unprecedented rise.
Also Zach Kleiman for GM of the year. We are supposed to be in year one of the rebuild.
Their frontcourt is really good.
Back in June I thought they should have paired Edey with Wilson. Good thing I’m not a GM.
No egos on that team, hungry tight knit group that just want to win games.
That’s hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn’t have.
Traded their big 3, became 3 times better, have a million picks, a future (current?) 25/10/5 guy. Life is good.
Also the most cap space in the league, and a big trade exception!
It’s 6 games and they’ve won 2x against Utah and 2x against Sacramento, relax.
Im perfectly calm. Wins are wins in the nba.
There’s no basis to say they’re “3 times better” when they’ve beat teams most teams would beat. Utah and Sacramento are a combined 1-12, with the lone win being a 1-point win against NOLA.
Genuinely just a well built team where everyone knows their role.
I think they lack that “star” guy that can go get them a bucket when needed most, but it is really refreshing to see a team that seems to understand who they are and the roles they play. Makes for great basketball.
I feel you! I will say as far as “star” and I know it’s early but Boozer did get us a go ahead bucket to help close the game out against the Warriors as the youngest play in the league
Cam Boozer is him
People seem to be ignoring the fact that we’re supposed to be the easy win according to basically everyone before the season. Young team swept a 4 game road trip with 0 all stars. Miss me with the schedule nonsense. You play the team in front of you
Ride the high for now but Grizzlies will probably barely make the play in
Which would have been considered a crazy take before the season. So even you are buying the hype.
LFGGGGGG FUCK THE WARRIORS, FUCK THE LAKERS, FUCK THE THUNDER, AND FUCK THE WESTERN CONFERENCE CAM BOOZER IS YOUR FATHER
AND FUCK THE CELTICS
What 4 wins vs Jazz and Kings would do to a mf
And the warriors don’t forget the warriors. They suck too!
They beat the Lakers, so they must be good!
The Lakers also lost to the warriors. I do not want to minimize it either though because Boozer and the boys are playing great fucking ball. If they go on to make a bit of noise in the playoffs, it night be the quickest turn around from a team I have seen in my 31 years of life. This team is not a rebuilding team. It is an improved team. That GM needs a pat on the back.
What we ever do to the Grizzlies?
Yall are just the lakers but in green, and the lakers are yall but in gold
The Lakers are us if we were stupid idiots
And FUCK the Free World!
They’ve been a fun team to watch. Love teams like this that fight.
I want 10-0, the Grizzlies have had a 9 game win streak in 3 of the last 5 seasons but never 10
What is this feeling? I’m having fun watching basketball?
Yall might go 8-0
98-0
99-0 if you count cup title game
“I knew Ty Jerome was going to be the MVP this season”
Lost in the stuff about the schedule is they swept a 4-game west coast road trip, which isn’t easy for any young team.
boozer already looking better then his dad ROTY!!!
Can the Grizzlies knock it off? It is overshadowing our great season so far.
Not that I pay a lot of attention to national media but I figure they’re ignoring us like they always do
They haven’t played the Mavs yet. 😈
And wont until January lol
They’ll beat them too.
Boozer a culture changer on the real
They’ve played shit teams still good tho
Softest schedule in the league but they only can beat what’s in front of them. Hopefully they keep it up
At least we beat the warriors
Ain’t our fault everyone decided we were going to be a bottom 5 team this year just because we moved on from players who were always injured (and look at them now, JJJ and Ja are both out for a month minimum). Plus, we did beat the Blazers, a team that by all accounts should be pretty good. IMO everyone wrote us off without thinking, and now the league’s gonna be big mad that we’re in the play ins/low playoffs because they scheduled us for 2 national games.
Ja and Jaren 100% would have lost the Warriors game. And maybe the Portland game too.
Go look at our schedule for the next 8 games. We could win them all and yall still come up with the same excuses. Where yall fucked up was thinking we were gonna be ass.
Bulls started the season 5-0 last year
Let them be delusional for a few more days
It’s no longer delusion though. We are 1st in win%, 1st in points per game, 1st in rebounds, 1st in 3pt%, 1st in +/-, 1st in net rating!
We’re just a good effin team!
With all the injuries in the league now, the path is actually open to 20-0, and I’m dead serious. Tuomas Iisalo is the truth, and everyone is going to see it this season.
Were talking about the 6-0 Grizz
They aren’t the Bulls.
Just look the NFL. There was a team last year that made the Super Bowl off of nothing but a cupcake schedule and got their asses handed to them by the one tough team they faced in the Super Bowl.
Do you honestly think Grizz fans actually believe we are a real contender? We are just over the moon that we look this decent year ONE of a rebuild and that we are beating all these teams who have already been rebuilding for years.
Embrace the hate
There was also a team that started the season 8-2 through the first 10 games and then proceeded to lose every single game afterwards of the remaining 7 and miss the playoffs.
First two months are kinda soft, but sorta becomes hell starting December jeez
This is spoken like they have been a top contender for years.
If they were as bad as many predicted in the preseason they wouldve lose a couple by now
Yeah they’re good but their schedule has been super weak aside from my Blazers, who they smoked by 20. They’re good but they’re not as good as the record seems
Good teams beat the bad teams
Warriors were a better win than the Blazers.
Dumb take.
You’ve literally faced Jazz twice and Kings twice. It’s a mickey mouse schedule that doesn’t mean anything.
It doesn’t mean anything to a couch warmer. Easy or not, they’re winning the games that they need to win. It matters to them. You literally are a nobody, nobody cares what or what doesn’t matter to you.
