Wemby sets a screen for Castle -> big switches onto Castle and Castle’s man switches onto Wemby -> Wemby rolls -> Jalen Clark or whoever is too short to stop the lob. This happened like 3 possessions in a row lol

If Fox keeps finishing at the rate he is it’ll keep being good. Just crazy good

Lwk might be a good play to run for the 7’6 alien? Idk tho I’m not a coach

Helps when the refs would let you breathe on him. On the other hand they get to tackle anyone when they are on defense.

Insane that i still feel like hes leaving so much on the court offensively too, after he obliterated us all i think is it couldve been worse

Beringer I thought had a pretty solid game honestly.. Victor was absolutely determined tonight to get up 30 plus attempts and was super aggressive and like you said you guys simply just did not have the bodies to do much about it

I mean, had no Gobert and Antman and it was still a game all the way through

No other frenchman

Did you guys have any one taller than 6’8”? Wemby looked like was legit playing middle schoolers from the clips I saw.

nothing many teams can do

He’s probably on the floor

You better delete this when Luka gets 45 blocks next game

Where’s the guy claiming that Wemby’s offense is as bad as Luka’s defense? I wanna see something real quick

and

I thought he was washed and the league figured him out

There’s gotta be a name for this phenomenon. It’s really popular on this subreddit. Somebody claims there to have been an outlier take disrespecting a player - as in, a take that’s so absurd that it’s either (a) fake, (b) said by somebody lacking basic intellect, © rage bait - and then when the player has good game, you post the take and get upvoted.

Again, is it real? Unclear. Was it said earnestly or as ragebait? Unclear. If it WAS real and earnest, should we even care about it? Or acknowledge that the person who said it just isn’t very bright?

I don’t really know, but I see comments like this and I just think the discourse is a little odd. How did you end up letting somebody who says something so insane end up occupying space in your head? Isn’t it a little sad that your first reaction to a Wemby performance like this is to say ‘hah, I remember this one really stupid comment that is either fake/rage bait/said by somebody dumb.’ What’s the point?

LMAO this sub is so funny sometimes

The rest of the league did figure him out - they just need to grow a 7’6” alien to beat the 7’5” alien. ETA - 19 years.

It was like day 2 of the season and everyone in this sub and beat writers everywhere were calling everything.

and without Rudy, and basically without Lamelo who has a horrible game and fouled out fast

just an odd game overall but it never really felt like the Spurs could lose it

in a world without egos harper would stay on the bench and champagnie would become a starter again just like last year

Idk about that, it was a pretty easy 40 for wemby. It’s not like he was scoring in iso for most the the game

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t type of sh*t. Pick your side and stay with it bruh

I dunno if they “needed” 40 points from Wemby, it was just the easiest avenue to points given the lineup the Wolves had.

Quaintance will make a big difference i have a feeling

What does it matter where or who the points come from if the end total is the same.

If he averages 30 this year and the Spurs are a top three seed in the west, he’s going to be MVP for sure. Remains to be seen if that’s going to happen, but I’ve been very encouraged with how aggressively the team has been looking for him in the paint the last four games

I don’t think there is a legit question if he averages 28 and is in the top 5

That he’s 7’6” shooting 3’s and only hitting them at a 27% clip. Leaving lots of points on the board refusing to use his height

We could offer the Spurs every player on our team, every pick we own for the foreseeable future, our entire team’s staff, ownership of our arena, and the Washington monument and the Spurs would still fart on the phone and hang up.

Let Wemby be president

Not even OKC has the assets to trade for Wemby brotha, the trade package doesn’t exist. It would need 2 generational prospects and 10 first round picks

Anthony davis and a first?

Cooper flagg + 1 role players to fit flagg and also 2 frp

I think that this is the first time he’s tried to play hard on the defensive end and doesn’t know how not to foul. He doesn’t get there is a difference between being physical and being reckless. Spurs know the difference and that’s why they are as good as they are.

Melo was fully checked out.

Took him 45 minutes of game time to get 10 points? Fuck outta here

I’m not even mad about lamelo. It just a bad game with fouling to much. He be fine

Giving it 20 games before we even know what this team is, then another 20 after Ant is back. No need to burn it down in November.

the fuck? no.

we were down bodies this game, and we performed better than we expected.

Unlike last season he’s getting the ball much more on movement and in faceup for a shot. Not as much down low post ups, his offense seems a lot simpler for the better so far

They will be back the next time he has a bad offensive game, trust me.

It was worse in the spurs sub.  The complete fucking meltdown going on there those first 2 games.

Against the Wolves without Gobert or Edwards.

Against good defense he struggles a lot. Without gobert and ant this isn’t a good defense.

It’s not consistent

I consider myself a tier 0 Wemby glaze and the criticism is a consistent offense

he took 34 shots!!!!!! ANY NBA player will score over 40 if they take 34 shots along with 9 free throws. typical statpadder.

I can see some players lurking on here but I really don’t think Wemby’s one of them

Most Valuable Parent.

He’s got my vote.

Maxey should just get six blocks, easy

Maxey Very Pathetic?

The flair is hilarious! Welcome aboard brother! 😂
