Funny enough my family stayed in the Plaza hotel back sometime in the 90’s when Kobe had just entered the league and was still very young, and the lakers were playing the Knicks and happened to be staying there. A lot of the team was eating breakfast together one morning downstairs, notably minus Kobe and Shaq, but we did run into Kobe in the lobby later and my parents had my very young sister (maybe 5ish at the time?) ask him for an autograph and he told her straight up no lol.
Another notable moment from that trip, also ran into KC and the sunshine band in the lobby. KC was either drunk or pretty fucked up and proudly proclaimed he was the baddest mother fucker in the world to everybody in the lobby, and my dad told him to calm down because his kids were there. Funny memories to look back on now.
