This should be his “Go To” move. Seems unstoppable.
This is increasingly becoming his go to move
He tried it a few times in the WCF when he was struggling to drive. Looks great when it works but he looks like an idiot when it doesn’t
Yeah it’s hard to do when the other teams have decent big men trying 100% to bump you off balance.
It’s a regular season shot.
and if you do it over and over again, it becomes predictable. those other bigs will just wait for the rebound
Idk if he “goes to” this he probably doesn’t get all three to contest and coaches warn someone to stay down for the board
Wembackboardyama
Only way to counter is to draw the charging foul by planting your feet and taking a HEAVY hit
It’s like playing monkey in the middle but with himself
It’s a lot easier to do that when these are the guys guarding him. But if you have Gobert there then probably not gonna work as well
The Harper steal was so quick that you don’t hear a crowd pop because they’re still celebrating the Wemby dunk. This team has so much talent man
Harper was the only guy not gawking in the moment lol
The only guy not doing what now
Not even hyperbole, but he legit must have the most in game self alley oop dunks of all time already
Giannis would have a fair few?
Definitely, I’m genuinely curious how many each have in total. Rookie Wemby had a few and then his 2nd and 3rd season he had even more.
This one from this post is Victor’s 2nd self lob in 6 games so far
type of shit he should be doing consistently
is that rashard lewis
Yes it is lol
He’s been our shooting coach for a couple seasons now
Player Development Coach
Why doesn’t Wemby do this every time down the court? Is he stupid or something?
The witcher is here to take out the wolves
Yeah that was nasty.
No joke he should be doing this at least once a game.damn near unstoppable
no need to dribble just chuck it and catch
Well someone just needs to know he’s charging for the slam and plant their feet and get a charging foul… But that’s going to be a HEAVY hit
It’s not like he’s Lakers Shaq. Despite his height, there’s plenty of players heavier than Wemby in the league.
He’s done this actually before in Metropolitan’s.
The first time I saw it, it was jaw dropping….. instead of going through the paint, he had attempted a 3, he then proceeded to run in and knew the shot was going to hit and bounce off glass, he caught the rebound and dunked it.
That was my first moment ever seeing Wemby and I knew the league was fucked the moment he arrived. A backboard rebound / dunk like that is impossible to fucking counter….
Its fantastic and feels like a signature move for him.
He used his Witcher senses on that one
Lmao Jesus Christ
He should do this every game who could stop him?
We should start calling this move the Wemby at this point.
Playing ball against a real life Slender man
One of the best in game dunks I’ve ever seen.
Good luck guarding that 🤷🏻♂️
jesus christ
Why doesnt he join the dunk contest and just do this ? 10s every time
It’s starting to just be a normal move for him.
Okay i asked this in the game thread and nobody reaponded, but to me it looks like Lyles is set in a legal position for the rebound and Wemby jumps into him and makes contact into his back before he has possession of the ball.
Is this not a loose ball foul? Or is there something that I am missing?
Passing off the backboard is kinda a black hole in the rules right now. If you pass it to someone else off the backboard it doesn’t count as an assist. So it’s not a pass but also not a shot? Which is why it’s neither an over the back on Wemby, or a shooting foul on Lyles
Replay shows Wemby clearly air-borne grabbing for the board before dude tries to box out
If anything it’s a shooting foul which is why he’s indignant all the way to the bench
Eh. He standing there. If he was like, squatting and in super box out position maybe he’d get an over the back
But it’s wemby. League ain’t gonna call that
Rule of cool
Go frame by frame, he moved in while Wemby was jumping. If you had to call something it’d be a defensive foul.
I don’t really agree but if it’s that close where you have to go frame by frame then I suppose that justifies no call
Yep, my thought exactly. Really just wasn’t anything there to call.
