I feel like only Celtics, Heat, Knicks, Raptors fans have truly recognized how good Maxey has been for multiple years now (outside of us ofc)

Mainly cuz we play yall so often, but the rest of the league and media didn’t particularly care for him as much as other stars

Feel like people know he’s good, but not this good

People have already been saying he’s our best player as Embiid slander for years but now they actually believe it.

First few games got me thinkin he has strong push for MVP conversation and top 5 player this year.

embiid by playoff time is probably the best, he makes everyone better when he’s on the floor

1A for sure

Why are you in this thread just to shit on Brown, you’ve made multiple comments on it.  Salty Celtics fans obsessing over him are crazy.

with all respect, people will never learn. it’ll be embiid until he’s done.

It’s almost like all the players together are very important as if they are some type of… squad

Maxey would be carrying the team for most of the regular season, but Embiid is the one who unlocks the championship ceiling.

Against good teams his presence is critical just his presence

He is though. For years the team has fallen apart during any stretches without Embiid, even with Maxey still playing. Maxey is great, but the value Embiid provides to the Sixers is unmatched.

All we need to do is look at the sixers record with and without Embiid. The past 3 seasons combined they are 63-33 (65.6% WP) with him, and 53-97 (35.3% WP) without.

To put that in perspective these winning percentages would put them at the 3 seed with him, and the 13th seed without him last season

i mean he is but maxey just had a big game so we cant say that or itll be downvotes lol im just glad to get the win

Cause it’s true. Maxey is arguably the better player but it’s still Embiid’s team

I don’t think that is a crazy argument. Losing Maxey would hurt badly, he’s our most reliable offensive weapon. We have a black hole of nothing behind Embiid at the 5.

Maxey is the better player at this stage, but he’s just less irreplaceable from a roster construction perspective.

Maxey is the best, Embiid is the most important (in part due to our lack of center depth)

He still is. He’s the team captain

Yeah, no.

lol how was the hate watch you rat?

Lebron whoops the Knicks every time he comes to MSG, don’t start.

This is LeBron’s farewell tour it’s as all-in as it gets lmao. They just can’t make any moves until December because of their situation

I figure if the season is still going well into December and January, we are going to start evaluating the market for whom may be selling. We are off to a good start, but obviously you wanna see how things keep going before you settle in for sure on a move.

I mean they are already load managing so. I know lol.

Philly were missing both their best defenders. They’re the best two by a big margin as well.

IMO it’s too early to be going off Ortg/Drtg rankings. The Knicks have, in part, acquired such a bad offensive rating due to a third of their games being vs Philly.

The defence of these sixers is very visibly what’s allowing them to beat good teams; their offence is quite dodgy still.

That’s why OP said that they need a serviceable center. They managed to go on 11-0 run and deny all points at the rim during last couple of minutes without a proper big.

We’re also missing two of our best offensive players, so, eh??? Sixers defense is alright I guess, but they’ve also mostly played against bad offenses. This season the Hornets, Knicks, Pistons, and Bucks are all in the bottom half of the league for offensive rating. And the Pacers and Cavs aren’t much higher at 15 and 14 respectively. They haven’t played against a single top 10 offense.

He’ll get recognition if he continues to lead us to #1 seed all season but otherwise he’s never gonna have the narrative to be put top 5. But at his best he really feels that way

Hm….true. But what if Tyrese Maxey?

Tyrese Maxey

I’m a Sixers fan… but I’ll accept it.

First team is basically the mvp short list

Even if the merit is there, the media wouldn’t give it to him. There are 5 MVP and 5 FMVP awards in the starting lineup with him. You’d have to win 70+ and he has to clear anyone else on your squad without a shadow of a doubt to get it.

We will see, fingers crossed.

GOAT level actually

Wemby, haven’t seen Cooper play that much but maybe him as well looking at his stats

Yeah like anyone that wants to pretend this will end like Sixers of old wasn’t paying attention to what this team was for so long, Maxey and Embiid (when healthy) willing the team to wins and the roster genuinely only going like 5-6 deep with any confidence.

When healthy this team has 9-10 playable guys with many of them capable scorers. We had 2 starters out, (one of which is Embiid, the other one of the greatest of all time), and we still had the horses to win against a solid if not average team. It’s absolutely a game we lose in most seasons of Embiid’s tenure. And they will add a backup center at somepoint to make that number of playable guys larger.

Idk why brown even played man, didn’t look himself at all

On a back to back

Sorry bruh, Dennis is a menace and not the good kind this time. Hope you guys get Kon back soon

There’s no rule that a dawg can’t play basketball

Those are just called Bona minutes

Regular Bona outing

That’s why I made draymond comparison

He’s been our best player for the last two years. Really showed it two years ago against the Knicks in the playoffs but last year he had an injury to one of his fingers or something and didn’t have as big an impact. So it makes sense he’s been flying slightly under the radar from a national perspective

knew it from his back to back 3s to start the knicks opening night

Who is in your top 5? I feel like it’s hard to put him above

Cade, Ant, Steph, Brown, Tatum, Embiid, Brunson, Giannis, etc. without a bigger sample size

Like he can obviously be above some of the names in that list, but to be definitive about him being above ALL of them, that takes time

The only people I’ve seen say different are only trying to push the Jaylen Brown narrative lol

He can get outsized by some guards but he’s a very willing defender. And that’s a lot more than most guards

He never used to, it’s something he’s actively worked on over the last 2 seasons. Which makes it even more impressive IMO.

Luka is top ten and doesn’t get blow out wins every night.

On second night of a back to back without Embiid or LeBron. This was basically a scheduled loss and he just willed them to a win.

Back to back , resting players, no playable center , new players playing for the 1st time and a motivated hornets squad. Nothing is promised. They grinder out another win in a trap game

He has more 4q points than anyone in the league by a good amount. Best player on 6-1 team. Hes early season mvp talk

You know it is a trap game, right?

I mean, no Lebron and Embiid.

how often do you actually see a complete blowout with rested players, and you act like hornets are complete ass going 0-6, they were 3-3 going into this match

Few in either conference imo. Everyone trying to avoid the “relegation” zone

Kon and Coby haven’t played yet this season and the hornets are 3-4 with ²⁄₄ of the losses being less than 10 points to the pistons and sixers. They could be pretty decent when they return

The game was close because of the center postion. No one could protect the pain and Mouse was doing anything in there.

we too were missing two starters and we have aspirations of being a play in team

Just turn him into the most valuable commodity in the nba outside of a superstar. Some players don’t want to become role players even if it makes the most sense, and most can’t become a big enough threat at both ends.

He literally just can’t shoot this year. He wasn’t a great shooter as a rookie, but he still shot 34% (on low volume). This year as a starter w/ Kon injured he’s shooting 15% on 5 attempts a game it’s been really bad.

I’ll do it. 6’0 215, lots of heart

Money’s gonna be an issue there.

As was Simons 🧐

bro what Simons went 5 for 9 from 3

Simons was key to this game (and their last win).

Last year this is a game we waste a great Maxey night and lose

Say what you want about Brown but Simons has been a godsend for our bench

beating you all in the playoffs then starting the next season 6-1 thats my thing

Definitely our thing, because the entire rotation is league average 3pt shooters at best outside of Maxey and KCP

He didn’t even have the worst game tonight but that missed wide open layup was the most frustrating thing I saw all night cause it basically sums him up as a player. At least Schroeder has won us games this season, Sion is just a complete non factor on offense every single night.

Shit is crazy too because last year he led the entire league in 3p% through like 15 games or something. Dude just totally lost his shot

Lesion

His flair may have changed but his body is still adapting.
