[Curry] on the Luka ankle breaker: “haven’t been that open in a while”
Yeah, he had time to admire his work
He legitimately looked surprised for a split second before setting his feet. Just completely froze him.
and luka tasted hardwood
This replay gave me hardwood
Curry absolutely felt like he was sticking up for Yaxel today lol
It felt like he kept making a big point of trying to show up Luka and celebrate every time he scored
Curry is also prob the single worst matchup for the Lakers because of how much he moves off ball and how fast he is as a ball handler
Maxey is another player who will light us up
Curry is like the worst matchup for almost any team because he’s Steph Curry.
Lmao, that is a great point
I’ve spent 15 years looking for a team that matched up well against Steph and I still haven’t found one.
He’s obviously the best shooter of all time, but he might be the goat of off ball movement too. The way players talk about guarding him it’s like a cardio gauntlet. Just scurrying around the entire game running into a thousand screens.
Idk I do feel like there are some teams that are better at dealing with the Steph x Dray pick and roll. Just have notably better guard/wing defenders with one of them being big enough to size up on Dray.
Source?
He is the gravity in human form when it comes to basketball world.
Basically this.
Took prime Claw and LeBron to stop him
Hes been neutralize plentiful of time. Obviously one of the greatest shooters of all time but the whole 3 point thing ruined the league. Teams shooting 50 3 pointers per game is not real bb.
Anyone who can score is the Lakers worst matchup
A firefly will light the Lakers up
One of tye greatest players to ever touch a basketball is a bad catchup for your team??? Do you have any other amazingly insightful observations to share with us??
Yeah that Steph dude is a pretty good shooter too
Lol or you suck letting 38 year old do that to you
I mean he is half a size of Luka.
Kinda, steph shoots way under his average at staples his whole career. He’s even been asked why and it said the lighting at staples mess with his eyes.
See the problem with Maxey is he has speed everywhere just cooks us or anyone when he’s on
Lebron wouldve blocked Curry 5 times but hes gone now so
yeah but lakers fans dreams don’t count tho
He said it in post game that team had to pick the rook up and get his back.
He’s not hunting Luka every possession but when he sees Luka defending, he absolutely went to his bag
I missed that curry slide
if there is one player on the planet that you don’t want to play against with something to prove, its Curry. He has done this all his career. 2022 season was full on highlight reel when he put all the stars in his highlight reels
Remember when dame poked the bear and Steph showed him. Absolute pyscho
Omri Casspi went back and forth with Steph at the end of the half back in 2015. Curry started it and ended it with 6 makes but Omri matched him going 4 for 4.
Nothing really compares to 2012 ecf g6 lebron
All-time the answer is jordan
I don’t know why this was downvoted, when those two are perfectly valid answers to the prompt. I also think it’s Steph, of course, but no one can honestly say that the top 2 players of all time haven’t had legendary “prove me” performances lol
Curry does this all the time for Draymond. He loves when his teammates talk shit
Nah Steph is just that much of a gloater and lowkey troll when he’s hot, Luka has no bearing on that lol
why not both?
He was celebrating in ways I’ve never seen him celebrate. Did he hit the “X gonna give it to ya” suck it motion a few times?
Curry was All Might tonight.
100%
Luka hasn’t said a word about yaxel.
Off court? I can still picture Luka calling Yaxel a pussy and telling him to come back off the bench in his literal first NBA game
He was talking mad shot this game too when he would draw fouls or make a shot on Yax this game
All I’m seeing from Luka this season already is whining to refs over bullshit, beefing with rookies and dropping 50 point games that he loses. Crazy.
Maybe not about him to the media but there are videos of him talking shit to him.
It was weird to me last week that luka and yax got into it. Shouldnt it be that, luka and steph got into it? Why luka was going after a rookie is dumb
pretty sure yaxel told the press that he told luka he sucked. so I think the situation was actually the rookie went after luka…. and steph had to clean up the mess 😭
also at this point luka and steph have respect for each other, so it’s unlikely they’ll have drama like that
Yaxel didnt even say he was bad, just that he whines about every call/non-call.
He did it all night this game too. Luka is an incredible player with some of the best highlights, but I hate watching full games of him.
I know every player complains so im not specifically calling out Luka, but I do think Luka is one of the worst when it comes to it being nonstop.
Lukas a front runner who likes to punch down
Because the rookie opened his mouth to luka fucking doncic. It then becomes a teaching moment for that rookie. Simple as.
Yaxel opened his mouth bc Luka kept complaining to the refs after every. single. play. He does so much crying it’s ridiculous. What lesson did he teach Yaxel? Be fat and cry?
siMpLe aS
Steph the only guy who consistently has big games against Doncic.
This lowkey might be the worst case scenario for Yaxel, he had his worst fans so far after running his mouth but his team still won so I doubt lesson was learned
Lmfao what lesson was he supposed to learn? It’s the NBA people trash talk no reason to be soft about it
lol soft is a reach but maybe he’s not good enough to talk trash to Luka, considering he was on the bench during the comeback I think his coach agrees but leave soft out of it, it’s irrelevant
No, soft is pretty relevant when an mvp is getting his panties in a bunch over a self proclaimed 24 year old rookie
Yaxel ahitstel did jack shit
“back in the day” is crazy that was only 8 years ago 😭😭
Think that’s longer than most player’s careers lol
That’s like 2 whole NFL careers
8 years is like 12% of the average lifespan. Long fucking time really.
Bro, I was planning on glazing Luka’s defense after this game because he was good for some possessions but of course Curry had to be him 💔
I think most ankle breaker clips are more slips on the floor, some nonsense, but this one steph had on luka was legit
The large majority of ankle breakers today are either slips on the floor or pushes, doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to witness.
I’m fine with slips, but pushes I can’t tolerate.
I guess im watching something different because the reason Luka falls is because stephs foot steps into lukas path and it more seems like feet getting entangled. Ankle breakers arent the same thing as contact between players feet. The concept is that a player switched so quickly or got them off balance that they cant support themselves on trying to keep up with them. That isnt what this is. Its just contact with feet that isn’t a foul or tripping because its not intentional or egregious but it isnt like steph lost him by some move. Luka had something just like this a week or so ago. It isnt an ankle breaker.
Yeah, you must be watching something different, you’re right
Also looked like Steph pushed off at the same moment with his right arm which led to the fall as well. Agree with you, classic case of not really an ankle breaker but hey, a clip is a clip
Luka tripped on Steph’s foot though?
nope, watch the slo-mo, he tripped over his own foot lmao. that’s what makes this so much fu
I was planning on glazing Luka’s defense after this game because he was good for some possessions
What? they was literally targeting Luka
He’s been fine this season on D, who cares? It’s a funny highlight, and everyone gets dropped.
He hasn’t, but that’s okay.
He’s been fine defensively but of course this doesn’t help the haters’ narratives lol
Luka now is a better defender than Steph or Harden were during their MVP seasons. Steph is a legitimately good defender now but up until basically 2018⁄19 dude was getting hunted hard. Luka obviously gets hunted too, but he does better than Steph did then in large part because he’s 5 inches taller and significantly stronger. The quickness doesn’t mean literally anything if the offensive player can just nudge you and you’re instantly no longer in a viable position to guard them. Go pick a random warriors game from before 2018⁄19 and see Steph getting bullied for yourself if you’re too young or have forgotten what that was.
Luka is a better defender than Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Dame, and Harden for sure. If he was on the Knicks and has what Brunson has to cover his ass on defense Luka would drop that “bad defender” label overnight. He’s got Walker Kessler now but otherwise has had the truly inspiring cast of Austin Reaves and LeBron (who saved his energy for offensive on the Lakers because they needed it) with the all-star rotation of Dominayton and Jaxson Hayes to funnel players into. Amen Thompson could be on the floor instead of Luka and even he’d look mid at best.
Unlike offense, good defense is always played as team. If you have more than one liability your defense will be terrible. You can have 3-4 bad offensive players and still be great on offense (2000s 76ers or any LeBron Cavs team from his first stint). Good defense goes over most NBA “fans’” heads because it isn’t as simple as “just stop the guy in front of you.” If I have Wemby behind me, then the best defense I can play looks like me getting blown by to most people. In reality, I’m just forcing my man into Wemby.
Anyone who still thinks Luka is a bad defender in damn near 2027 either has no idea what they’re talking about, doesn’t watch games, or both. You should watch this video from last season by jxmyhighroller that goes into it (the title obviously being sarcastic) and you should go actually watch games in full and see for yourself how few possessions reflect the highlights and discourse on here.
He’s not really a good defender, but he’s not a bad one. Being a solid defender with his offensive production is phenomenal when you compare him to other players like him (especially high usage guards). NBA “fans” would have you thinking he’s prime trae young on the defensive end. Basketball defense is close to football where it truly is a collaborative effort. You play in a system, and obviously you can be better or worse but if the system is bad/you don’t have the right pieces around you then you will look bad regardless of whether that’s true.
Imagine getting downvoted for speaking the truth
I think today reminded me I really need to appreciate this generation of players before it’s over. Curry, LeBron, KD, harden, hell even seeing Horford still out there getting minutes over these younger guys really shows how really special this generation is. Given how crazy injuries are these days with the younger generation, we may never see anything like this again.
I am so glad I got to watch his career from draft until now
I don’t know if I could love anyone more than Steph (sorry family). He is perfect.
I remember watching him in college when he went on that run with Davidson. Never thought he would be doing those same things 20 years later in the NBA.
“Until I’m done”
I’m not ready man
Was Luka hated this much when he was on the Mavs or is this a Lakers thing?
Luka has been hated for a long time. lol
Basically after his first or second year the hate started to pour in.
He plays like prime James harden, who we called Hitler because of his playstyle lol
Prime harden had more aura tho he was the og Hitler. Luka and shai have been doing the same recently but he invented that shit lmfao
Prime James Harden could literally just climb on the back of an opponent and get the foul call. Y’all forgetting. SGA is the closest in terms of what made Harden called Hitler.
Luka is more of a giant crybaby. He is nowhere near as talented at drawing fouls. And he wastes time whining about it.
Listen man. You can’t just compare Luka to Hitler.
Go read the old texts. The peak of Luka doesn’t even sniff prime Hitlers run.
We’ll talk when defenders are guarding you from behind with your hands behind their backs
Can confirm, it’s always been easy to dislike Luka. But it’s even easier when he’s on the Lakers.
But he was also reddits golden boy. Just look up his name here and sort by top all time, when he was in Dallas his highlights used to get 20-80k upvotes
I don’t think anyone denies his game. Dude is a certified baller.
He is ABSOLUTELY not hated on this sub. People here love defending Luka. Been downvoted enough to know.
My thing about Luka is I don’t hate him, but on the court he is an absolute cry baby AND shit talker. So when someone shows him up it just feels like he is getting a taste of his own medicine. He plays the villain roll and people like seeing the villain get theirs lol
The Luka fanboys are also annoying as fuck man.
As a Mavs fan I absolutely do not miss the whining.I love Luka but I’m grateful we have coop now
He’s always been ripped on for his defense and complaining. Especially on the Mavs. He’s just in an even bigger media market now so it checks out.
Hes a whiney bitch on court. Most annoying watch in the league
U still salty vlad passed on him for bagley 😂
I think he did it to himself frankly, nobody denies his talent, its just his extracurriculars on the court that people sour on, and being on the mavs made him a constant underdog which is much easier for people to cheer for as opposed to being on the most hated team in the nba
He’s not on the Celtics
Loved his game but his on court behavior and bitching is unbearable. Just hoop bro…no need to whine every play at the refs…
Luka complains ALL THE TIME to the refs when he is on the court, and it really is not a good look.
Its probably not Luka hate. Its just that it was such a big game everyone had circled in cuz it was a Rookie who spoke trash to Luka on DAY ONE and was sooo blunt about the state of the league.
Then Luka was actually putting in work and Curry comes in and… well… you know what happened…
They been hating on him since years.
This is multiple things
Thunder fans have hated Luka since 2024
Bron fans hate watching because of Pelinka
Warriors fans now hate Luka becuase 5 minutes of trash talk on opening night has somehow ballooned into a media circus and forced rivalry. Lakers media/Luka literally haven’t engaged with the whole thing since opening night it’s been entirely one sided from Yaxel and the media and now somehow it’s about him being a big mean bully who had it coming.
In general everybody hates the Lakers as is and probably spent the last 4-5 years excited for them to fall back to irrelevance after the AD and Bron era. Luka being gifted to LA is something that makes people actively root for the team to fail
The hate is definitely at its highest levels at this point. When Luka was in Dallas his best highlights used to get 20-80k upvotes here now people barely even post his Lakers clips. Every post related to Luka devolves into complaining about him complaining even when it has nothing to do with the post or anything happening in the game. It’s basically just free karma atp to say “dae luka cry”
It’s a Luka thing. I don’t care about the Lakers.
Faced each other in the Finals 3 times. Not even a feeling of rivalry for you?
Both. But MORE a lakers thing than it is being a former Mavs player. I can’t stand Luka because he’s always whining.
It’s also easier when you haven’t won shit
Its like ohtani on the dodgers versus the angels. People love to love you on a small market team but you go to a big market and suddenly youre overrated.
Not a fair comparison. Ohtani is straight up 1 of 1 in baseball. Multiple MVP’s, multiple championships and doing things which haven’t been seen since Babe Ruth. And does it all with humbleness.
Luka has no MVP’s, no rings, and has a reputation of whining to the refs.
People are already calling him the best baseball player of all time and it’s not even that crazy to say. Only people saying Luka is the best of all time is GenZ kids with a Prime energy drink addiction and Slovenian bots who haven’t been coded to defend his atrocious defense yet.
He wasn’t comparing accolades. He was comparing fan reaction.
No one thinks he overrated he’s clearly a great player, his personality suck and he’s the biggest crybaby ever
Its absolutely not lmfao.
Luka is like the reverse Othani, bitches non stop, useless on the other side of the court, no MVP and no rings.
2nd line is usually true, but Ohtani isn’t a good comparison. Rival fans hate Ohtani for going to the Dodgers, but most of them don’t say or think he’s overrated.
Ohtani has only enhanced his case for GOAT since arriving to the Dodgers. Was even having his best season ever this year in the 1st half of the season before injuries plagued him.
No it’s not. Not even close. Ohtani is a GOAT. Luka is just another star
Same guy, but on Lakers.
As a fan of whining, this is great
I think it doesn’t help that Laker fans go into other sub’s discussion threads to talk shit whenever Luka goes on a run. In both Warriors games this and last week, there were a bunch of accounts spamming things like “Luka owns your trash team.” and “Steph washed, Luka the goat.” just weird brigading. Pairing an annoying fanbase with a player already controversial for whining to referees creates quite a bad look.
He became insufferable once he was a superstar. I don’t like any of the players that bitch as much as he does
I have always despised Luka for his whining. But every time I watch him I mutter under my breath “goddamn he’s good”.
Teams’ fans that Luka cooked tf outta in the playoffs like the Suns, the Thunder and maybe the Wolves I guess have hated him for a while. But being a Laker has definitely amplified it for sure.
Simple answer is he’s a top 10 player with an entirely offensive game and he whines to the refs constantly.
Yes he annoying
What
People trying to gaslight. Its def a Lakers thing.
I mean didn’t the media make a whole segment ripping into Luka’s defense during the 2024 finals to basically say he was the reason the Mavs were losing? It’s even more exacerbated now but he was always hated even during his time in Dallas
Yep that finals was basically the Celtics playing 5 out and making Luka be the helper in pick and roll to then get cooked repeatedly
The luka hype train is crazy. Dude has the most fans in the league by a mile atp, after all the mavs storyline and adding on Lakers fans.
An equal amount of distaste usually rises up for the hype on stars this big (lebron, kd, curry). I’d argue this is nothing new, it’s all playing out like expected.
Good player but hated him for whining and flopping, also Luka fans are the worst.
He’s hated because people are scared and/or jealous of him. They know how unstoppable he would be on a good team, so they downplay and hate on him when he loses, pushing narratives that are overblown or straight-up false, and blame him for 100% of his team’s problems.
Everyone knows he’s elite lol, it’s 100% the constant whining play style that turns people off.
floper and a bitch, that what he is, but stil top 5 player
The complaining about his complaining is just this snowball thing that’s taken a life of its own at this point and people looking for stuff to be annoyed by. Every single post related to Luka devolves into people complaining that he complains when it doesn’t even have to do anything with the post or what’s happening in the game. Like Shai discourse in 2025
He didn’t even really have any notable moments crying or complaining this season so far. Meanwhile Yaxel was complaining all night and Prime literally did a halftime segment making fun of how he was yelling at Kerr to challenge (which turned out to be wrong) and twirled his finger at him 41 fucking times and nobody says anything. If it were Luka that clip would be sitting here on the front page with 30k upvotes
Pretty much
People were talking about how Luka was gonna punish Yaxel for his insolence or whatever… They really forgot who the real monster under the bed is.
Ask Serbia haha
Yaxel been too loud. Got all the attention on him since the start of the season.
Okay peepaw
Ok this didnt come out as how i thought it would sound. What i meant is since all attention has been on Yaxel everyone forgot abt Curry still being curry.
Idk why people aren’t talking about the rook dropping a hot 6 in this game. Talked a lot of nonsense not to take shots.
Because steph embarrassed Luka amd thats a wayyyy bigger story……thats why people arent talking about a rookie
They won the game tho
Curry Vs the Lakers bench?
Did you not see the highlight everyone is talking about?
Curry still humble. 🥂
Yaxel had to get Unc to finish the fight for him and Unc delivered 😄
Luka had his welcome to the league this season before yaxel
Not really. Yaxel had his first game of the season.
Men I’m gonna miss this dude when he retires.
I’m honestly super curious about post career Steph. He’s a little too subdued to be an analyst on one of these shows IMO - so I’m curious what his post nba career trajectory will be. GM maybe? I could see him going the college GM route potentially… I know he’s got his production company - but is he really going to remain out of the limelight? It’ll be interesting to see what happens
Imagine if he gets a stake in the Valkyries. He is already a big supporter of the team. That would be awesome.
PGA Tour… no reason we won’t be able to see him in his 40s. The dudes precision for technique is obviously in the .1 percentile. I think he levels up his golf game in his next chapter.
If Dirk’s an analyst, Steph can definitely be an analyst.
Curry clip might’ve actually ended Luka’s MVP campaign because this shit is not going away for a while 💔
This won’t even be relevant in a couple weeks and forgotten way sooner. An ankle breaker ending an MVP campaign in October lmfaooo how unserious
Yeah that’s an insane statement, even for this sub
I still have Curry ankle breakers on CP3 (10 years ago?) and Harden on my mind.
lol, one ankle breaker? sorry but curry is cooking just about anyone, let alone a slower footed defender
It wouldn’t have surprised me if Niang blew by him considering how slow he looked towards the end.
We really aren’t serious people
it would be really stupid if MVP voters were influenced by one clip.
The greatest shooter of all time scoring on one of the weakest defenders (among top players) isn’t going to be remembered in a week.
I disagree, not because of the difference in skill (greatest shooter vs weak defender), but because it’s Luka and Steph and one of the nastiest ankle breakers we’ve seen in awhile
Edit: To be fair, if Luka did this to Steph, it’d be a similar thing
I mean, people might remember it as a thing that happened but it isn’t at all relevant to anyone’s MVP case. It was a nasty ankle breaker but Luka took on the challenge of trying to guard Steph multiple times. He’s going to get cooked almost 100% of the time, but he really put forth the effort of trying. It’s kinda like how volume shotblockers are the ones that are posterized the most.
Are we really having a serious discussion about an ankle breaker ending an MVP campaign? Like are y’all for real?
I never said that at all. I just disagreed with the statement that this play wont be remembered in a week. It obviously has zero impact on an MVP campaign
It wasn’t an ankle breaker he tripped on Steph’s foot
No he didnt. He tripped on his own foot
Show me proof that he did and I’ll be happy to admit I’m wrong, because the replays and angles seem to show him tripping over himself
Yes it will be remembered. Star vs star ankle breaker
Luka hit the floor, no tripping or stepping on his foot.
It’s like joe johnson on paul pierce, this one will live forever
He pretty clearly trips on Steph’s foot though… Not saying Steph did anything wrong, but he didn’t just fall down on his own. Watch the clip again.
I love how confidently wrong you are. There’s literally angles from the other side and u can clearly see Stephs foot doesn’t touch him lmao
The cope is real. No one is forgetting this bro
Gonna be in every YouTube highlight of him like the CP3 one
Its game 5 🥀
it’s gonna get replayed a ton throughout the year
a 50 point masterpiece from Luka can easily drain it away. But that was pure Shaqtin moment.
I doubt it. Luka tripped either on one of curry’s feet or his own. Hard to tell from the camera angle. It is funny, but it aint nearly as good as some are making it out.
Luka tripped over his own feet because of Currys insane handles… It’s literally as clean as it gets.
Top6 finish should be enough for mvp with that roster
“Big brother does the dirty work for yapping little brother who failed to show up for the fight. More at 10.”
Steph is sick.
I will say this was the worse timing for Luka because he’s actually been much better on defense for awhile now (while it’s ignored by everyone)
And now this one play will be all the masses need to keep this narrative going 😂
Is it supposed to be front page news that he’s actually trying to play defense for the first 5 games of the year
That’s the whole issue. If he does play decent defense you say things like that. And it never ends. Dating back to January of last season he’s really been much better defensively, when does it start to ever be ok to talk about?
Come back when he’s had at least a 5 year run of playing on both sides.
Is 5 games supposed to equal years of not even trying? I ain’t ever seen him even lower his stance
Come back when he’s had at least a 5 year run of playing on both sides
Nah ridiculous, this is just silly
When he does it over 2+ years? He’s been ass for his entire career.
They called steph bad at defense for 10+ years and it wasn’t even true
Hes actually been playing pretty solid defense for much longer. You wouldnt notice because you’re just going with the narrative and dont watch the games.
Or Lakers and Mavs fans are biased and other fans can see he’s a sloth on defense. Trying harder doesn’t mean he’s playing good. And he still whines to refs and doesn’t get back on defense and jogs down the floor. He’s been moving in guys’ way more often, sure. T
Luka fans have been saying he’s improved on def since like 2022
Nobody is saying he is a good defender though. You are boxing ghosts because you have made up your mind.
He defence off ball is actually pretty good. He sees the lanes and clogs them well, actually quite similar to jokic.
The issue is he is a guard and gets ripped when he’s POA
Tf you want him to do 😭😂poor guy has to score 30 every night to carry this garbage ass bench atleast he tries to get steals and hustle on defense, like literally only Luka gets a big microscope on his defense out of SGA (who is a decent defender) and Jokic
You have no idea what I have or haven’t watched
Good point. Maybe you are watching the games but just lack comprehension. Or possibly you are just so filled with hate, it blinds you. I apologise for simply assuming you were ignorant.
Lmao
Been playing well since last year but someone’s gonna post a blowby and people/haters gonna run with that.
This game had lot of blowbys tho…
Curry did something similar to Kawhi too, he didn’t fall but he got spun around. So it definitely even happens to the best defenders. No shame
This can be his Rudy Gobert moment
You know that time Luka hit a big step back on Rudy and Rudy got shit for it for like 2 years even though he actually was doing a great job switching on the perimeter
As a Warriors have I’m here to say I did notice actually
He was a plus defender in the first half, caused a lot of those turnovers and was super solid.
Then he got tired/stopped trying. How Luka lol
Maybe he got tired because his team played like shit?
Luka getting tired after the first quarter is as inevitable as taxes. He is the best first quarter player in the league and has been for years. Dude always has twenty points, some boards, some dimes, and maybe a couple steals in the first quarter of like every game, but he’s tapped out and pretty ass the final three quarters. It’s like this every game.
It was more when Steph started embarrassing him
Statistically speaking, his defense has been bottom tier, its improved slightly but it’s still awful
No, statistically speaking his defense has been almost exactly average. And now it’s been slightly above average.
Getting postered or ankles broken is inevitable for anyone who tries on D.
Ankle break is far from inevitable lol, it rarely happens. Nowadays ISOs aren’t really that common
it happens a lot, the person who broke the ankles doesn’t always make the shot tho for example bron got his ankles broken by Nembhard a few games ago but he didn’t make the shot
The thing is he only got dropped because he is playing better defense. Like Luka the last few years would have never given enough effort to get dropped.
CP3 is a great defender and got dropped by curry this isn’t really that bad, Luka at the end is still 6”7⁄8 ish and just not as mobile, but he would fry Curry if he didn’t dodge him. So it feel weird talking shit in a match up where you are only able to play on side of it.
Getting your own feet crossed once in awhile means you’re trying to dig in and move laterally. If you stand like a traffic cone and let people blow by you never get your ankles crossed.
I think the only way to change the narrative is by winning a ring, not even a great finals run or literally playing good defense an entire season will do it
I’m a warriors fan and I used to get so mad when people said Steph was an awful defender when to me he clearly wasn’t, it actually took 4 rings for haters to finally shut up because if 2022 didn’t happen they would still be around 😂
Steph is massively improved defensively over his career but he’s still dogged for it - it’s a stain that doesn’t leave the narrative unless you become undeniably elite at it. As a fan, you ignore the hate and know you’ve got a gem
Lol true. But oh well. Let them talk. Nothing he does will change the narrative. The herd mentality that Reddit has only adds to it. They don’t even watch full games and come here arguing with their full chests😂 . Its silly and funny more than anything because its so obvious they don’t watch games.
It’s not the Lakers defensive scheme, it’s the players themselves. The Warriors offensive scheme is almost unguardable when Steph is hot. The defense gets out of position the moment Steph gets a screen.
I love this for Luka
Gotta love that set. Is that the frequent flyer lounge?
curry gonna torch luka everytime in the perimeter but luka gonna own him everytime in the post. they are different type of guard bad matchup everytime
MENACE
Oh no curry don’t make luka angry
He dropping 70 next time
70 on 100 shots maybe
they were hugging after the game lol
Luka already had 73 on 33 shots lol
Dude had the most efficient 70 point game of all time and yall say dumb ass shit like this
Why didn’t luka do it again this game then? Y’all talk like he can do it every game lmfao
“Why doesn’t Luka just score 70 on 30 shots every game?”
Nobody has had higher standards for perceived success since prime LeBron.
When did LeBron score 70 lol
That’s my guy!
If Luka doesn’t drop 50 points he’s painted as the worst player in the league damn😂
So YOU can post comments hyping up “Mad Luka” and saying he’s comparable to the GOATs of basketball and shitting on Yaxel even calling his name stupid.
But when Luka takes a loss now he’s the victim and being held to high standards? LMFAO
Luka stans just acting their personal GOAT
Luka is hated for the bitching and moaning after 80% of his misses - nothing more. No one who loves basketball can watch him actually play and hate on it - he’s incredible. His attitude on the floor makes people despise him. If he’d just keep it moving afterwards he’d be beloved. How many times over his career have we watched him not get back on defense just so he can bitch to a ref. It’s disrespectful to the game.
What moment did Luka have last night or even in recent memory that was as bad as Yaxel yelling at Kerr for an incorrect challenge and twirling his finger in his face 41 times? You know for a fact that if Luka did that it would be here on the front page with 30k upvotes
You don’t see the difference between a player telling his coach a replay is needed and a star player bitching to the refs at every perceived slightest contact? Ok
Lol he dropped 52 few days ago people were still hating
Nobody is hating on the amount of points he scores. They are hating because he constantly seeks his team out on defense because he would rather cry to the ref than hustle back and help his team.
Is number of times a player cries to the ref some new advanced metric or do they show highlights of luka crying to the refs?
In a win.
Lukas defense is ass
