Cheers Nico

Simple: He ass

He is a 2nd round pick 55 and plays like it. Very unlikely to crack any rotation anytime soon

His daddy isn’t around to bully the coaching staff into playing his kid.

Bronny is baaaad.

He does nothing better than any of the players in front of him… He has always been a 12-15th man

I place him next to Jordan purely because you’ll say “I’ll never see this again in my lifetime.”

That’s not even trying to argue who would be the GOAT between the two, just what we get to witness. I was too young for Jordan but get to watch this crazy stuff.

Steph is my all time favorite player so I felt this way about LeBron… Then the Olympics happened and it was nice to be able to root for LeBron for once. Gotta respect greatness.

Right, I know old timers might be pissed off if I say Steph takes Magic’s spot in the all time list but he shows why he deserves it.

Same. The 2024 Olympics finally made me put my Curry hatred to bed. It was amazing watching them compete for the gold together, but I’d never want to see them on the same team in the league. I was so happy Bron didn’t decide on the Warriors this summer lol

Tbh after bron left Lakers I don’t really have that weird grudge on Steph anymore, and I start to appreciate him. Actually feel great when he beat the shit out of Lakers when some weird Luka stans and Kobe stans said the burden is gone.

I don’t recall another era when three players over 38 were this good. There’s only one player (KAJ) that I can think of that had this level of late career success. It’s remarkable.

He has lost it somewhat but that’s more a testament to how otherworldly prime Steph was than a slight in the still elite player he is now.

I keep expecting him to stop running but he’s still going.

Trent Williams type shit

In fact he’s gotten more efficient

In games like this and the last one, I dare anyone to point to anything he’s doing worse than 10 years ago.

The only difference is minutes.

Yeah it’s insane considering he was so injury prone in his early years. You’d think he’ll struggle like Carmelo in Rockets after all of that tears and wears, but Steph’s conditioning and retraining on how he should fall after a bump really done well to his longevity.

That first quarter was kind of painful in the beginning

I don’t think even the shooting was guaranteed. His shot is very athletic. If he felt as tired at 38 as I did compared with when we were 28, he would airball half the time.

age doesn’t really affect conditioning .. look at marathon winners

Unfortunately, this is what trying looks like.

They’re a decent team when Butler is healthy, at least.

this is our front office trying to contend 😂

Yeah, not every team can get LeBron James then Luka Doncic just gifted to them. Other teams actually have to do things like navigate the cap and trying to get fair value out of trades.

They gambled on Jimmy and lost. Hard for them to make moves now but they did try to contend. This was the risk sadly

Their 2nd and 3rd best player got hurt, what can they do

It’s just not easy to compete when one player costs over ¹⁄₃ of the cap.

Ground floor, you might say.

Grimes has been awful. It takes him a second to decide whether to pass or drive from a pass and it negates all the advantage Luka/ Reaves create.

At least from the two games vs us, it doesn’t look like grimes ever gets to handle the ball. He just sits in the corner all game

It’s game 6 of the nba season on a team full of new players. It’s hard for anyone to accept this…but any hot takes made right now are just dumb. It takes about 30 games into the season to actually get a feel for what a team is going to be.

When you don’t know why it usually means bad coaching

And that 5 pts didn’t change till the end of the game.

Reaves has like 15 TO in the last two games. Dude cannot stop turning it over

Maybe his kid

Wait til I get to the league.

he looks like he bulked up

Locked up AR

Yaxel came back to earth, which is expected. Good team win.

Melt was huge tonight

it doesn’t even feel like they paid podz that much. 22mil a year for a starter who’s aggressive on both offense and defense doesn’t feel awful but i’m not good at evaluating contracts tbh.

the warriors are absurdly over the cap space but it’s fine at this point

third option behind steph and yax right now, and it’s pretty cool to see

He has not been rock solid at this season and his numbers reflect that. Especially the turnovers. You guys are speaking for a emotional standpoint because he’s a fan favorite player. But his basketball ability is not at the level It should be to justify starting in the NBA. He is extremely inconsistent. But his flashes are good enough to give Steve Kerr a reason to play him for the same reason you guys like him. Because he likes him.

Certified gamer

Podz shot it well but those b2b offensive fouls were pretty weak calls, and then the no call on that flop deflated the lakers imo.

Same with his nickname. Cracks me up everytime. Minivan!

When he got into the face of Sexton, I was so fucking hype lmfao

90% of it is from the “not tweeting till Podz scores 30” post lmao

I do think Podz is a player that contributes to winning, but he takes some infuriating shots. Like early in this game, he took a long midrange stepback 2 with like 20 seconds on the shotclock. If you are going to take a bad shot, you better fucking make it and he almost never does. There were 3 or 4 bad shots that he took this game and he bricked them all. On the flip side, he did draw 3 offensive fouls, so that kinda makes up for it. It’s the games where he isn’t making up for it and also missing the shots he’s supposed to take when people understandably crash out.

It’s not overblown he’s not a good player. He’s really inconsistent with more bad than good but his good Is enough to justify his existence in the NBA.

I can’t stand Podz. Not as a person or anything. I just hate somehow about how he plays. It’s hard to explain, and I don’t even know why I feel that way. It’s not malicious, like it’s not hate hate, but I really don’t like watching him. It’s like, I dunno, like watching James Harden play basketball.

Duh, he’s white.

Love me some Bassey. When healthy he is solid as fuck. Hope he can keep it together

That block on kessler was amazing

He looks smarter and somehow also more athletic this year.

Idk if we’re really that good 😅

When you combine his playing career and his coaching career, Kerr is one of the all-timers in NBA lore.

Played with Jordan, for Phil, for Pop, turned GS into a dynasty. Still you’ll have “fans” slagging him because he couldn’t make Kuminga work or whatever petty stuff they will invent next.

We’re warriors

Porzingus a ho

“good opponent”

Luka is good. His team is cheeks.

Common refrain for my wife and I last season: “20 points ain’t nothin’.” 20 points didn’t mean shit until there’s maybe 2 minutes left.

THAT IS what he looks like lol. I kept thinking he was a wider and way meaner klay on the court

Klay Whompson

Everybody kept telling us how great Yaxel was almost like a clever distraction

Was about to say, this all started in the 5 seconds that Luka sat down.

Kinda been the story of Bron-era lakers and beyond

It was shocking to see how awful Sexton and Grimes are tonight.

They have no one to move the ball around, they desperately need a point guard to take the ball off luka

They can’t do anything without one of Luka or Reaves on the floor. Past those two and Kessler, this roster is awful.

Luka’s gonna get heat because he’s the marquee, franchise guy, but this roster is ass. They’re going to lose every minute when either him or Reaves sit

Why is that Luka’s fault? Thats on GM/coach

Yeah it’s not a good assessment at all lol…

The real take is 1st luka dominate, 2nd Luka tired and rests so Warriors dominate, 3rd quarter Luka comes back swinging to keep it competitive, 4th Luka is tired and thus the Lakers die under the pressure

Existence.

After watching Luka and Reeves twice now in the post LeBron era, I must say it’s too much your-turn-my-turn basketball. This team will be good in the regular season. Both of these dudes can get their shots on anyone. But they don’t feed off of each other at all, and there is no flow of gravity or energy between them.

Never heard that once

Our bench absolutely destroyed the Lakers, especially when Luka sat in that quarter.

Lesson learned! Don’t do chores!

Luka was so gassed that game. His face was bright red half way through the second and fourth.

Feel like he gassed, curry was attacking him too

Luka played all of the first and third. He wasn’t getting as much value in the 2nd and 4th even when he was in because of how gassed he was, he would have been even less value if he played more.

Stop it, Klay’s last 2 years post injury, do NOT define his career here, gross comment ngl

Edit - Draymond too btw, Steph just happens to be the only one of the 3 to be timeless

Nah, they’re hall of famers. Steph doesn’t win 4 without them.

A bit of an excuse because he was legitimately not good tonight, but he’s playing hurt. Honestly probably should’ve sat to rest his foot but that would’ve looked even worse than playing bad after the Luka comments lol

also harder to double steph when pod, yax, melton and even the other role players will start taking that opportunity once they double steph

Why? They doubled Curry when KD was on the team. It’s a winning formula and I’m surprised the Lakers didn’t do it

Collin sexton is a Westbrick. Plays fast and hard with 0 control. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn’t

They def need another stable option that can take the pressure and attention. Imagine if LeBron was on the Lakers 😮‍💨

When you build a Heliocentric offense you can shut the whole thing down if you can stop the main guy. Both peak Harden and Luka are pretty ass at playing off-ball so if you throw blitz and doubles at them if you can defend the first guy they pass it too you get to defend 5 on 4. Also the guards that have been paired with Luka have been combo guards that were above average playmakers but not elite playmakers. The role players in Helio-centric rosters usually have to be spoon fed buckets.

The only two complementary star guards that have been able to make Helio style offenses super successful are CP3 and Kyrie. Reeves is good but he’s no where near those two.

He doesn’t have the fast twitch to pass out of them?

Makes sense really… Luka absolutely cooks in iso situations. The double has always been the great neutralizer.

He needs the ball. Obviously a 1vs2 is not efficient basketball so he passes the ball and then it’s on his teammates while he stands around

You’d think he’s never seen it before I mean my god

And that’s fine, make someone else punish you. They didn’t try to at all.

Thank you. I’m sorry but we think Niang and Williams and Richard are that much better than grimes or sexton? Warriors coaching actually put them in positions to succeed and slot people in. Every single person on the lakers are treated like 3 and D wings aside from Kessler who’s not involved in any action whatsoever.

The bear is still complaining to the refs about the technical

Unfortunately for them, the true bear is with the dubs lol

Teddy bear

The bear did went night night later in the game

They literally won his minutes. Not his fault he had members of the bench going -23

Nope I need a knicks playoff collapse loss for it to be the ultimate hate watch

Literally same

I keep saying this but I want both teams to lose every game for a very long time. everyone is so annoying 😭 on games that had nothing to do with each other, people were making luka posts (and in commenting in threads) saying yaxel would never struggle against bad teams like him, yaxel was better as a rookie than luka, etc.

and OF COURSE it’s just as bad on the flip side, saying luka was going to give yaxel the belt, can’t poke the bear, blah blah blah. genuinely losing their minds

if both teams can’t lose, I’ll settling for both players losing their respective narratives among fans (and I genuinely like both of them) because the fan bases can’t stop trolling each other and we all have to suffer for it. it’s not even an interesting rivalry. yaxel literally just got here and the lakers are hot garbage

love to see it

That’s actually a wild swing

while making luka taste hardwood floors

That he OWNED a rookie!

(He didn’t, Yaxel actually was clamping Luka on ball and sure he gave some fouls but he stopped a guy that was going nuclear to that point and brought him to room temperature heat). I love Luka but fucking dweeby Lakers fans can’t accept that Luka is great but Yaxel was awesome that game (and a couple other games but not this one outside of defensively)

“MJ level grudges” is a nephew take lmao.

They all hop on a conference call so he can berate them on his drive home.

Woah. You need to relax brother. Luka clearly started playing poorly because he was reminded of his ongoing custody battle and because he tweaked his hamstring at the exact moment the Warriors gained momentum.

Act like you know ball ffs

Poked the pregnant polar bear.

i mean anyone with eyes knows luka played well this game, u cant win without anyone else doing anything

thats just normal laker behavior

Day, ending in y, etc.

night night

Woah. A lot of them, my cousin in the Philippines included, were just waking up when the game started

He allows blowbyes in 1v1 defense more than 43% of the time, it’s the 4th worst in the entire league. Matador ass player.

37 points isn’t mediocre. +9, not horrible shooting.

His bench got outscored by 50. Exact same game with a better performance when he’s out and people are praising him.

He a great 1st quarter. Great. But the Warriors had a great 2nd quarter and it was knotted up. And Steph was consistent through the rest of the game, same with podz. And that was the difference.

It all depends on his jumper going in or not. He does not get to the rim anymore. It’s either a step back three, a rare catch and shoot three, or a slow drive into a floater (all while trying to grift for foul calls).

I am a laker fan btw

Luka fans are terribly annoying; dude’s great but he has too much leash for someone who really hasn’t done much yet

Fucking bitches

Some box score watcher is going to get tricked into posting a despite the loss thread

Yeah this is asinine.

They’re out there

Unfortunately a loud enough minority exists. There were some awful stan wars last year in the Lakers subreddit.

I refuse to believe there was anybody saying that - Blind man

Tbf I wasn’t celebrating it per se, but I knew we had to part ways if we were ever going to get a serviceable big. Keeping him here was going to delay the roster reconstruction that was always going to have a couple of rough years.

We don’t have a complete roster yet but it’s on the way to being more balanced. I think we’re still at least a year away from getting it there though.

Grimes and Laravia won’t even shoot it. Man I missed Zaire.

Niang is so good for how slow he looks

Someone mentioned those two played high school ball together and won back to back state titles.

0 points in like 6 minutes

He’s like of carm was single white female-ing Steph curry.

That is Podz aesthetic now

Everybody has been neutralizing Kessler recently. He really hasn’t done much after the first two games

They really should use Bassey more or even Ike for a time. We cannot wear down the bodies of Dray and Al this early.

Dude was invisible most of the game.

Yeah, doubling/hard trapping Reaves/Luka to get the ball out of their hands made it so the others had to feed Kessler and well….those Lakers players aren’t known for that lol

Ya I couldn’t watch. How they do it?

You don’t have to discredit luka to clown the lakers cornballs

Dumbass comment
