Nico might have singlehandedly destroyed Luka’s career if it turns out he never plays on a good team again. Which Rob is making sure of rn

Luka has literally zero chance of beating a team like the thunder in a playoff series.

Also they acting like brown locked up Luka when he shot 50% against him. Celtics roleplayers just played a perfect series.

And it’s also crazy how devastating the second apron was for that team.

They were forced to break what wouldve been a perennial contender

“Many people are saying this.”

Luka was already hurt before that series dude, let’s chill out a bit lol

cool dude

Honestly… it makes a lot of sense for both teams

Bam might have one of the worst contracts in the nba

We didn’t pull anything nico pulled one on himself

I had this talk with you many months ago about how bad this Lakers team will be and you and all of the Lakers fanboys crucified me for it so it’s refreshing to see you change up. Handing out big deals to Grimes, Mamu, and Reaves while trading future assets and a large contract for a one dimensional big man. Very smart moves by Pelinka

He would ruin Flagg’s trajectory. Luka ball hogs too much to let a young player develop (see Brunson).

I don’t see what the other path was

38% from 3 is good

Love this. Coop’s playing like All NBA guy this years

That’s why I said budget.

Trade the farm for a big who can protect the rim and play in the PnR with Luka. Re-sign an off ball guard who plays well next to Luka and surround them with “3 and D” guys who can’t create their own shots.

Issue is that they’re just worse almost across the board at all those positions and the league is better now than it was in 2024.

I mean, DJJ and PJ weren’t/aren’t exactly reliable shooters.

Cameron Carr could be that maybe. I anticipate he will end up getting rotation minutes.

I think he had veto power on every single move and so he tacitly approved of any move he didn’t explicitly approve of.

He chose the certain type of players he wanted. He had a direct hand in how this entire process went

Exactly. Hearing the narrative that he got to cherry pick is wild.

I’m sorry, I love our rookie but Luka cooked him, Yax couldn’t guard Luka without fouling. Podz, Melton and Dray did the job mostly.

Yaxel talking all that shit when he needs more help

Yeah. In the finals. Reaves cant handle some intense ball pressure in October lmao

Kyrie averaged 1 PPG less than the guy who won FMVP lmao

how many Finals Reaves got under his belt?

The kyrie Irving? Stepback 3 on Steph Curry to take the lead on the final minute of a 3-1 comeback Kyrie Irving?

Austin Reaves is good bro, i like him. But he’s not even in the same stratosphere as Kyrie.

The same Kyrie who was instrumental in the 3-1 cavs comeback?

if letting him do so would let him play like kyrie instead of who he actually is let him sit out half the season

Austin Reaves is also a playoff dropper

cause Reaves sister don’t want a loser at her birthday party

Top 5 in steals for 3 years if i recall.

Lakers shooting was so bad it legit looked like they were throwing the game. Some Emmanuel clase type shots out there

Yup. Team scored total of 8 points with him on the bench.

Bro, I’m still baffled. I literally went into another post I was like “what Reaves is doing is not enough and the bench has provided nothing” I had like 20 downvotes on that comment in 3 minutes lol.

I just said to myself…are people not watching? Anything that happens this season will be a full on Luka carry job

I mean honestly this team is basically Luka going God mode every game, AR when he shows up (and he does….sometimes), Kessler being a nice addition, and JJ being a good coach. Lakers literally have nothing else to work with which reminds me of just last season

Him and Luka are also too similar. Kyrie could speed up the game and was great playing offball. Elite catch and shoot and cutting from kyrie.

yeah i see the exact same thing. this lakers team is fools gold because of this

Luka gonna have so many hypothetical rings and mvp’s by the time his career is up

If man strikes again lol yeah I can say if the Thunder had no injuries, we would’ve two peated

Reaves can help statpad your team’s regular season record but he’s a playoff deflator, Lakers are going to need to get off that contract before they waste all of Luka’s prime

Decent roleplayers but we can’t forget that djj was almost out of the league and pj was unproven and both can’t shoot.

A 24 year old multimillionaire in their only free time in the year

Because he has an agenda obviously, or is just willingly stupid

Also bro left out the fact that all the other players in the race outside of Embiid(who only ended with two more wins in a weaker east) had worse records.

And the 6 seed year (2022), the Nuggets only had 3 fewer wins than the teams for Jokic’s main competition (Bucks and Sixers), and Jokic actually played in more wins than either Giannis or Embiid.

None of those dudes are nearly as bad.

Steph? You mean the guy who has a slightly positive DBPM and a neutral defensive net rating?

Hyperbole. He’s been an average defender his entire career. Tired callout.

I think one bad defender is never gonna be the difference between a good and bad team, it’sa team sport. I think maybe there are just fundamental issues with his leadership we don’t know about, this many years of mediocrity with how talented he is, at multiple teams isn’t a coincidence.

And yeah he’d probably be covered in glory if he was on a superteam, that’s the way it goes.

These people genuinely never watch the games and just parrot what they read

Wrong

Watch the games and not the stats

Show me those per 75 numbers real quick, and some defensive highlights if you can

Sure wasnt

Why? SGA and Jokic that year, like every year since, had better advanced stats and more wins than him.

It’s not the points+rebounds+assists award, unless MVP is now just “Most Volume Player”

Username checks out

If you think he’s been better than the mvp any of the years he’s been in the league, you don’t watch basketball. Reddit is the only place that thinks Luka should have an MVP at this point

SGA vs Luka is like a psyop I swear to god.

It’s like the most disrespected player relative to his accomplishments (SGA) going against the most glazed and revered player in modern NBA history with no rings and no mvps (Luka) and this is the result.

In no universe does a 2x MVP and a champion have to prove anything compared to the guy with none of either.

There is no parallel player comparison like this, its like if people were still adamant Harden is greater than Curry all time.

Luka always carried bad teams in his career. Let’s see if SGA can do it this year with the injuries to Thunder

Sure lets bring up LeBron somehow why not
