It was obvious the refs weren’t on our side when RJ got a loose ball foul despite the fact Bane was holding RJ’s right arm and Black was holding RJ’s left arm in Q2. That was so damn egregious even the commentators called it out.

Bet MGM

Man that was unbelievable amounts of horseshit. There were easily 3 fouls that could have been called on that play against RJ and they somehow called a foul on him???

I’m gonna get downvoted for this but he did grab his hand for whatever reason.

The swipes before should have been called a foul. But given that they weren’t, that was the right call after looking at the replay.

NBA isn’t watchable anymore between the free throws and travels

NFL may have more clearly defined contact rules, but it’s still an absolute crapshoot how it gets called - and with leagues going all-in on sports betting things aren’t going to get less crooked.

True

he was hitting a lot jumpers but also went to the basket a ton. he just wasn’t getting calls

Scottie was hitting middies all game tbh. Was still getting fouled though

You might call me biased but Scottie got most of his points from midrange fadeaways and getting to the basket. He only shot 3 fts. He had 2 three point attempts. He deserved to shoot more fts in this game. He’s so strong that he doesn’t sell his fouls enough. That’s a legitimate skill that he needs to work on

He was attacking all night. They called a lot of soft ones for them, but he couldn’t get the call because it seemed like he was hitting players first on his way to the rim. Idk I dont think that should matter. Legal guarding position is a thing and they couldnt stay in front of him for the most part.

I started counting at the second quarter and counted at least 5 times where Barnes drove to the basket with two guys all over him with no call, where on the other end the raptor player trying to keep up with the magic drive and they get called on a bump. Not saying the raptors didn’t foul, but the magic got away with a lot worse on the other end.

He hit pretty much every middy he took, and missed like 10 shots inside, probably half of them should’ve been fouls tbh…

He’s got the same problem guys like Embiid, Zion and LeBron have had where he’s so big and physical that when he gets fouled he doesn’t fall or get sent flying so refs just play on. Then you see the replay and you understand why he’s so frustrated.

But ya over 40 points on 3 FTA is kind of insane

scottie was shooting hella jumpers and that’s where he got his foodhe did yell a couple of times to the referees for some non calls

He shot literally all midrange fadeaway jump shots. Maybe first half he could’ve earned a couple more trips to the line.

We are not a physical team anymore. People keep saying this but it’s just not true. We don’t pressure the ball anymore and outside of the Pistons series when we did return to physical play we’ve largely been a mid defense. We still foul a lot but it’s more so from our shitty defenders trying to stop a guy who beat them off the dribble.

He’s a little jumpy as a defender to start the year, he’s had some great stretches but he’s gettin a lil sloppy, I trust him to adjust eventually

Except look at LeBron’s fts vs Barnes is noble. Pardon the pun.

But LBJ gets a way better whistle.

Only 2 3pta for Scottie out of 34 fga. Rest were drives and middies. So a lot. 3 fta

Bane had 12 3pta out of 18fga. 6fta

Do you think Scottie Barnes got 41 points and wasn’t driving to the basket?

To put in perspective, he was 8-10 in the midrange with 2 3pt attempts and 34 shots.

I dont care too much because in the playoffs, guess what’s gonna stay the same.

He shot 2 threes and the majority of his points came from the paint and the midrange.

Darko was trying to be nice and not get fine but everyone noticed how terrible the refs were tonight from the beginning of the game. So many delayed calls like they were indecisive at times. A lot of the calls going one way often just assessing the penalty to the reactionary contact and nothing to the one who iniated it even after review. Very sus officiating.
