Yeah that is a terrible call, “foot to foot” contact when V.J. was pulling his foot backwards?
That wasn’t some Bowen agitating shit where he used to jab his foot into his mans foot to smash their toes up or into the side of the foot, or get under them at all.
Refs made the call to keep the game close for ratings, gambling.
This accusation will be one that must be considered seriously as long as the league is promoting gambling.

What makes it worse is that it was reviewed and still called. Like I can understand if a ref had a bad angle and couldn’t really see what happened. But they took a break from the game, viewed it in super slow motion, and still gave Brunson FTs. Unbelievable.
I honestly don’t know WTF they were reviewing there. That was so obviously not a foul, I feel like the whole time they must’ve been trying to figure out how to call it a foul.

funny thing is nobody stepped on anyone. there was maybe a graze, but Brunson just slipped and rolled his ankle and they thought it was a foul. How they upheld that on review is mind boggling haha
you could see on replay that brunson was stepping forward and his foot hit vj’s high ankle area
my only thought is that they were both moving their feet. Even though brunson clearly initiated contact, maybe theres a rule that tie goes to the offender or something something needs space??? IDK. But yeah if you can just kick your leg into someone and get a foul then new NBA strategy unlocked.

The exact opposite thing happened in the wolves cavs game the other day. Wolves player stepped on the defenders foot and got an offensive foul
I saw it happen last year. Someone drove on Daniels, who was stationary in the lane, stepped on his foot and got a foul call. Pretty standard stuff for the Hawks who typically get a horrible whistle.
This is a standard call, usually it’s more obvious when a player gets tripped with foot contact but that little foot tap caused Brunson to twist his ankle and go down.

This is a crazy interpretation - Brunson twists his ankle b/c he steps on VJ’s foot, which is on the ground.
You can’t twist your ankle from a ‘foot tap’ in the air - you twist it b/c you step and put your weight on an unexpected surface.
It’s not clear there was any contact at all, but if there was even slight marginal contact it was initiated by Brunson stepping into VJ

Look at his foot. At what point is it stationary? He starts the posession stopping his momentum which is going left by planting. Brunson goes right as a response and Edgecomb recovers and cuts off Brunsons step with his foot.
Its a ticky tack foul but he tripped him and if he wasnt out of position Brunson doesnt take off like that and theres no trip.
Look at Edgecombs left hand, look at his shoulders, look at his body. He’s hopping/sliding to recover. Theres no way all of that is moving and you think his foot is stationary.
Edgecombe is literally in the process of changing position to move his foot backward when Brunson pushes his own foot into edgecombe’s. He’s literally stopped and you’re asking when he’s stopped. Do you have eyes?

When good aggressive defenders need to recover they dont move backwards, they open up and limit the angle Which explains his arms and shoulders. Why would he give him more room to operate by moving backwards?
