I was under the impression from actually reading the articles about that, that the partnership with the NBA is solely exchanging the NBA’s data for the power to disallow certain types of bets on the platform (that open the door for the scandals the NBA saw last year). It’s not a commercial partnership, there’s no money or sponsorship deal in place.

The Sixers are just headline readers, and are using the NBA deal as an excuse to actually put a branding deal and commercial partnership on the table.

There’s this thing called “money”.  You and I don’t have it, but rich people do, and they really seem to like it.  It gives them the power to make people like us do things for them in exchange for the empty promise of them giving “money” to us.

Sports betting is a system where people like us give them “money” that we don’t have in exchange for basically nothing, and then those sports betting companies pay some of this “money” to the rich people who own teams in exchange for being allowed to use their games as advertising to people like us, so that way more of the “money” that we would have goes to both the sports betting companies and the team owners.

If you are going to take something from the gambling companies you may as well sell your soul properly and take as much as you can.
