Let’s not write off rookies in the first week of their career lmao

Curry was flamed during the first week of his rookie year, look where he is now

Dunno, he still hasn’t proven it to me yet

ZandrickEllison

Also Curry was about 3 years older than this as a rookie.

People just hate offensive engines unless they are on a winning team then all of a sudden their “defense is good enough”.

Enough_Response_20

It’s not writing off it’s noticing he and other rookies playing like shit and then stating it. Let’s not swing the other way too crazy now after a good game

michaelalex3 | CHA

1 | 8 hours ago

Did people actually write him off though? Also a lot of criticism for him is related to defensive effort, not scoring.

Chargers23 | CHI

48 | 8 hours ago

I just saw that post like yesterday about him being a bust because he’s an “inefficient shot chucker” lol. Almost like young guys will have ups and downs.

thrownaway22_ | SAC

43 | 8 hours ago

Im genuinely so serious, no one fucking watches the Kings - not that I blame them.

He’s definitely chucked a few up, but if i have to see another brain dead X post, just highlighting the box score, accompanied with a clip of 3 bad shots (he’s a rookie), I’m going to lose it.

If anyone actually sat down and watched a Kings game they’d:

Want to end it all

Realise he’s going to be very good

AffectionateFace5858 | LAL

12 | 8 hours ago

He’s playing insanley well, he passes the eye test every time I watch. People don’t realise his efficiency is being tanked because he’s being super over used for a 19 year old but he’s started a lot of games hot and then ended up missing exhausted shots at the end. He is the franchise, anone actally watching your games can see it

PlatosLeftTit [OP] | MIA

2 | 7 hours ago

It just happened again lol

Was absolutely dead tired in the 4th from the pace of the game and his outsized usage, his 3’s started to fall short and his handle got sloppier. I was still super impressed from what I saw from him and Fears though, both are going to be very good.

AffectionateFace5858 | LAL

2 | 7 hours ago

Yep, it’s so sad to watch he needs a wa better supporting cast. Big fan of both him and Fears though so happy with the game, a sham Queen doesn’t seem to be panning out.

joshuakyle94 | Darius Acuff Jr.

He would have double the amount of assists if Lavine and crew just made their wide open shots. At least he has Sabonis

supotnak | ORL

Mammoth-Physics6254 | DAL

If you think Acuff is an inefficient shot chucker a game where he goes off for 40 shouldn’t move you though.

YoungCri

-12 | 8 hours ago

one half doesn’t change that he’s taking the 2 most attempts in the NBA so far and missed damn near all of them.

Jazzlike_Juice7031

4 | 8 hours ago

He’s a 19 year old who’s asked to run an NBA offense you dolt. Of course their will be struggles

YoungCri

-5 | 8 hours ago

He can still pass the ball and play defense.

penis_showing_game | SAC

5 | 7 hours ago

He has 12 assists with 5 to go in the 4th lmao

U new to watching hoops?

ValorantEdater | Cabo Verde

-6 | 8 hours ago

None of that changes the fact that he’s been an inefficient shot chucker. Some of you guys are legit braindead.

Does saying he’s a 19 year old inefficient shot chucker make you feel better?

Being 19 isn’t the opposite of being efficient or not taking 25 shots a game.

The fact that he has taken the most shots of any rookie ever should tell you that it’s a him problem, unless you think no 19 year old has ever run an offense before.

Jazzlike_Juice7031

5 | 8 hours ago

Before you just start spewing shit do you actually look at how bad most superstars were at 19 years old??? Him having a game like this ALREADY puts him ahead of the curve. Are you so braindead that you forgot Cooper Flagg didn’t even score 30 until his 20th game in? Acuff already has that at half dipshit.

thats a very impressive stat line for 19 year point guard. especially given that Acuff is probably being asked to do too much as rookie. exciting stuff for kings fans in very difficult season so far.

Emergency-Finance-26

He should have SO many more assists not just in this game but on the season. He is generating a lot of good looks which is impressing me more than the scoring despite the turnover rate. Future star imo

joshuakyle94 | Darius Acuff Jr.

2 | 8 hours ago

Lavine and crew do nothing but brick his assists to wide open shots

4719837

5 | 8 hours ago

People really acted like a 19 year olds career was over because he shoots the ball a lot. His defense is a huge problem but shot selection/efficiency will improve

KazaamFan

I get rookies struggle. But acuff had good shooting splits in college. No reason to expect him to shoot poorly in his nba career. This would be the year it may be lowest, as a rookie, but we’ll see

Express_Tune5770

7 | 8 hours ago

I feel like most rookie are pretty inefficient so I think it’s ok/

refreshing_yogurt

1 | 8 hours ago

Yea, I think being able to get shot attempts up as a rookie is generally a more positive signal for rookies than inefficiency is a negative.

thrownaway22_ | SAC

4 | 8 hours ago

He’s still adapting to the speed, new teammates and a new system (albeit a shit one).

He’s been prone to a few chucks but watch the tape and 90% of the time he gets to his spot with ease, just bricked a lot.

Once those start falling he’s gonna be unreal.

Sir-xer21 | LAL

I thought he was a smash pick in this draft and i had him over Wagler and Brown. He’s a gonna be a superstar.

TJFLASH1

3 | 8 hours ago

People were questioning if the college splits were real because he didn’t shoot nearly that well in high school mainly

joshuakyle94 | Darius Acuff Jr.

1 | 8 hours ago

Well duh, he’s playing against the best basketball players in the world so he has to adapt to the defense and length and how big these NBA players are

gundam1983 | SAC

1 | 8 hours ago

I can see it if he was more like Jimmer. Gets to the NBA and can’t get open and constantly blocked due to his height, but this hasn’t been the case at all. Acuff pretty much get any shot he wants with anyone in front of him. The way he slithers through traffic without losing the ball and gets the shot up is incredibly impressive.

_WiggaInParis_ | SAS

3 | 8 hours ago

Ik its crazy people wrote him off asap

Getting used to NBA takes time. I will say they he REAALLYY needs to work on his defense but he’s 19 so its okay, as long as he develops better defense by the time he is 22-23

dillpickles007 | ATL

1 | 6 hours ago

He’s in probably the worst situation I’ve ever seen in the NBA to develop better defense lol
