I’ve seen sports surgeries where they describe extra complications.

They won’t call it “unsuccessful”, but there’s sometimes a message saying something like “more damage was discovered than imaging revealed and further intervention is required”.

Everyone I know who has lived in or around Rochester has said the culture around it is really toxic and there’s a real entitlement/segregation between people who work at the hospital and those who don’t.

Not to mention they have bought up a bunch of smaller hospitals in the area and closed them so everyone has to go to their facilities. Further travel and higher costs for southern MN.

Mayo also bullies around our city council and has way too much control over the actual city. Downtown is terrible today compared to when I moved here almost 10 years ago

That’s the vast majority of medical offices, especially when push comes to shove. I have absolutely zero faith in the healthcare system in the US. It needs serious reform. And probably needs to be universal healthcare handled by the government rather than being a for profit model, but I know that won’t change.
