Box score: https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/401909888

Kuminga also finished with 2 steals while Lendeborg finished with 1 steal, 1 block, and the W despite his 7 turnovers. It was a clash of past vs present as the former Warriors forward matched up with the new one.

Both players are 24 years old but took completely different paths to the league: Kuminga played a one-and-done season for the G-League Ignite and is now in his sixth season in the NBA, while the rookie Lendeborg played six seasons across three different colleges before finally beginning his NBA journey this year.

EDIT: The box score has since been updated to give Lendeborg 9 rebounds

Tbh, I saw Kuminga move the ball more than he normally would on the dubs

He has to, he is delusional but got humbled by the market that he could only get 6M

I know people hate him to a ridiculous level, but he definitely has been solid. Maybe it wont hold, but hes one of the best players in the league thats making $6M or less

wavetoyou | GSW

33 | 3 hours ago

I’ll start paying full attention if he’s still doing this by December. The lack of interest in him this summer has to be the motivation he needs to stay consistent effort wise

MG_MN | MIN

7 | 2 hours ago

Yeah I think thats a factor. Hes basically on a prove it deal right now. After seeing how dry the market was, he has to color between the lines this season to get a better deal on his next contract

bookhuntermnl

13 | 3 hours ago

Yeah weve seen him do this for the first 10 games for the Warriors last year then decided he was better than Wardell 😂

curry cant carry a team anymore, moving forward with young guys isnt that ridiculous. So many of you guys just watch ball for steph lol.

wadarheek

Moving forward with young guys is fine, sure. But Jonathan Kuminga? No shot lmfao. He is not good enough and never was.

Banned3rdTimesaCharm | GSW

13 | 3 hours ago

First 10 games are free. That’s the frustration with him. He’ll show flashes of brilliance then regress.

MG_MN | MIN

3 | 2 hours ago

Totally prepared for that. Have been impressed so far, but I know bumps will come. Just happy we got a playable body at that point of FA. He was basically the only ³⁄₄ available and I thought he was out of the price range. All he has to do is be better than Lyles, so the bar is low for him

mith_thryl | GSW

1 | 2 hours ago

he can be an consistent double digit scorer, that is true. i mean, warriors and wolves have different playstyles.

warriors value ball movement well and playing defense, but kuminga kinda gave up on the idea of warriors playstyle. that’s my main issue with him when he was with the warriors - he can actually be a great role player and a star had he played within the warriors system, but idk if he or his agent thought that scoring 20pts per game would be better and can get you a bigger contract.

if what you need from him is just scoring, he won’t disappoint.

Falling-James | GSW

I have zero ill will towards Kuminga. Bad fit, and he and Kerr clearly didn’t get along. Wish him all the best

Waikuku3

17 | 3 hours ago

What ridiculous level? That bum literally refuses to pass the ball to Steph and faked injury

TallnFrosty | GSW

1 | 3 hours ago

I think he’ll be good for Minnesota. Playing in off of Ant; Lamelo, Rudy is polar opposite to the warriors system.

He still leaves something to be desired- he’s more a 8-10% of the cap ($13-16 mil as of now) than he is a $20 million + guy.

milkhotelbitches | MIL

A lot of it sounds like sour grapes from Warriors fans.

mith_thryl | GSW

11 | 2 hours ago

tbf, it’s because he will show you glimpse of what he can actually do when he plays with the warriors system. but once he showed that, he will go ahead with his boneheaded drives and hogging the ball.

even steph was frustrated when he was wide open and kuminga still decided to drive it.

TheKeyNextDoor | MIA

1 | 2 hours ago

I think it’s mainly because he has a cool last name

mith_thryl | GSW

1 | 2 hours ago

tbf he’s hated because he outright refused to play within the system of the team he was in before, something that which HE CAN ACTUALLY DO.

it’s like your groupmate doesn’t want to do the assigned task for him and wants to do something different, only to find out he can actually contribute and do what he was asked to do on a different team.

if you made someone like steph got frustrated at you for not passing the ball, then there’s really gotta be an issue.

zigzagtravel01

1 | 2 hours ago

Kuminga generally plays likr a future all star for a stretch of a month or two then becomes like a G League player the next. This is a cycle for him but for 6M, that is good.

Kryptos33

1 | 2 hours ago

He did at the start of last season too. After two weeks or so he decided it was his turn and things got messy.

Yaxel is probably the best rookie in his first 5 starts that I’ve seen in the last couple years. This was his worst game and he still dropped 26 WITH steph.

Kerr hasn’t had a single guy like this In his tenure

The rebounding, passing, court vision, energy, and situational awareness is why Kerr allows Yax to play through mistakes. JK wasn’t just turning the ball over all those years, there was way more to it.
