They have the ability to get a quality shot every time down the floor when they actually try.. but for some reason they’ll have a weird stretch every game where they don’t. Tonight that was the 3rd

Lebron and Embiid just out there trying not to get injured

Few_Prune_1436 | WAS

17 | 3 hours ago

I feel they’re purposely going down or shit. There’s no adjustment you can make that magically allows you to score at will by the end of the quarter for the past couple of wins without it being some mental thing.

lets_talk_basketball

22 | 3 hours ago

I think Bron and Embiid try to coast and get in game load management, and by proxy the others follow suit.. i think by mid season when they’re doing that, the younger guys will start dominating

WindWalkerWalking

20 | 3 hours ago

Sort of the vibe I’m getting. They start pretty much every game at 70% speed. And then ball movement wise looks a lot like they’re trying to learn where each other needs to be. In 5 games, when with the comeback it’s hard to say Embiid and Bron have played many “hard minutes.” They’re running Maxey into the ground though

samuel33334 | PHI

13 | 3 hours ago

Maxey has been 40 mins a game for like 3 years now

HisExcellency20 | PHI

2 | 3 hours ago

I haven’t watched a ton of James over the last few years, but Joel absolutely does not go hard until the third quarter and then turns up more in the fourth.

Shamsyil | PHI

I mean I’ll take the win but Embiid having to play 38 mins to win this is ridiculous

GetOffMyGradey | LAC

Depth was always going to be their Achilles wasn’t it?

Quiet_Foot_9669 | PHI

25 | 3 hours ago

Center depth specifically. Depth elsewhere has been totally fine.

They’ll definitely sign or trade for a center come December

Otternomaly | PHI

16 | 3 hours ago

The center depth problem was supposed to be “can anyone of the 5 backups play well enough to survive when Embiid sits,” not “lol lmao actually they’re all injured good luck Joel”

I see what you did there

SLDH1980

They can’t really fix their backup C depth until December.

WindWalkerWalking

2 | 3 hours ago

Definitely too many minutes but even considering to comeback, his minutes haven’t looked as intense as they’ve look in the past. Pretty much coasting through the first half. Also on the ground less

Mood_Academic | LAL

Part of that was Wade picking up 5 fouls throughout the game

HisExcellency20 | PHI

1 | 3 hours ago

We don’t have the best bench bigs but missing Walker and Barlow hurts.

Dull_Passion6298

0 | 3 hours ago

Honestly it makes me wonder if Jaylen Brown getting minutes at the 5 would potentially be more sustainable in the short term than LeBron playing at the 5 at age 42.

DemonsReturns7 | PHI

6 | 3 hours ago

Of all the players on the team like Dean Wade, Adem, Tako, Barlow

Brown is the one you choose to play the 5

Man some of y’all IQ is bananas

Granted Barlow and Tako are currently Injured I’d still not play Brown at the 5. That’s not his skill set or can he defend real bigs in the post

Dull_Passion6298

2 | 3 hours ago

I mean idk I think he’s probably the closest in strength to Bron other than the actual centers.

I think Tacko would have played by now if he was playable.

Walker and Barlow should get looks at the 5 before Brown when they are available but they aren’t available at the moment.

DemonsReturns7 | PHI

2 | 3 hours ago

I can understand your train of thought but more than strength is needed for playing the 5

Brown is too short and most centers will just shoot over him or draw foul on him as he tries to body them to stop them

It will also take energy away from his offense having to bang down low defending bigs at the rim

MrShake4 | PHI

2 | 3 hours ago

Tacko is also Out iirc

Myrese_Taxey

Barlow isnt available rn but yes he should be the answer until we find a replacement or Bona starts playing better.

Dull_Passion6298

25 | 3 hours ago

If Joel Embiid can make it to the playoffs 70%-ish healthy (the whole big 4 needs to make it as well knock on wood) and Jaylen Brown remains engaged and bought in to his role, this team will be making it out of the second round for the first time in over 20 years for sure.

Lebron is acting like Olympics Bron where he focuses on facilitating, passing and defending but when the team has trouble scoring he goes LeThanos and does it himself.

Embiid 38 mins in an October game against the Pacers without Haliburton. They need to do an intervention for Nick Nurse

Saitsuofleaves

7 | 3 hours ago

I mean the alternative is playing Bona serious minutes and giving up a lot more regular season games in the process. If Embiid didn’t play 38 the Sixers lose this one by double digits.

Now yes, forest for the trees, goal should be the playoffs and the regular season is just practice/drop in the bucket but right now the early season is about building that winning culture. Team making it clear they’re gonna put in the effort and grind to win games that before they would’ve just written off after choking the 3rd.

dWaldizzle | PHI

3 | 3 hours ago

The alternative is literally to just lose the game because Bona is a walkway to points against in the paint and a black hole on offense

HisExcellency20 | PHI

7 | 3 hours ago

The Sixers are running offense mostly off of pure talent. Just too many scorers on the court at the same time for the entire game. Once they get 30 or do games together and start to really gel and compliment each other, and get better chemistry they will be a problem.

How rare is it for 4 guys to combine for 80 points. I honestly can’t tell if this is super impressive or sneakily common

They were awful for both teams

The Sixers Phantastic Four was dominant again tonight in Sixers win over the Pacers: 81 combined points (Maxey - 27; Embiid - 21; Brown - 20; Bron - 13), three double-doubles (Embiid, Brown, Bron), and a 39-21 4th quarter to make yet another double-digit comeback win!
