They could have gotten 5 Firsts for Herb and Trey 2 years ago.

They’ll end up with both walking in FA while having a bottom 10 record for their entire stint

Pelicans don’t want to trade him which is why they keep quoting this 2 first round pick price. It’s a price built on his best year in 2024, and not based on his current performance.

It’s a fuck off price.

no one is willing to pay that. at most you will get a protected first ig

Absolutely delusional. Maybe you could’ve gotten something like that 2 years ago. New lottery odds made first rounders even more valuable.

Pure insanity. Joe Delusional at work.

He’s not even playing much so far, this organization is such a joke

pels fucked up not selling at his peak.

I can’t lie, I think one first is insane at this point.

Maybe 2 shitty firsts

Their coach should probably play him at least 20 minutes per game if they want to showcase his value. Oh wait

I love Herb like he’s my own son but 2 (real) first round picks for him is insane at this point unless a team is also getting off a ton of dead money

Maybe he gets hot and looks like peak Herb again and fetches that at the deadline but there’s a reason why he hasn’t been traded yet – no one has come close to that asking price

The second he’s on a winning team people will realize he’s worth it

Who’s also 28 years old

I was about to say I like Herb, but he ain’t worth 2 FRP

2 second round picks sounds more accurate

Don’t the pelicans ever get tired of being the bargain bin team that every other contender goes to when looking for an upgrade

They still are. 2 first round picks?

Not unless they’re GM gets fired. I know some of the asking prices he had on some of their players last year was preposterous

He was in demand until he got hurt and 3pt shot fell off a cliff.

They’re still asking for something ridiculous

The Pels are still asking for 2frp, which is ridiculous

I feel like Dumars gets clowned plenty but I am happy to jump on the band wagon. Add in things like ridiculous overpays for signing players that didn’t have a market.

He doesn’t receive enough because nobody cares about NOLA

Let him be the GM of LA and he would’ve been the manager of an In and Out by now

Agreed

Don’t judge him not being in the rotation as a reflection of his skill

Idk what the fuck our coach is doing (again/perennially)

He’s not out of the rotation, but nobody playing 15mpg for a dumpster fire team is worth 2 firsts

Or they will double down and trade another frp for another 13th pick this year.

Brook Lopez?

That’s Kevin Looneys music

Warriors knocking??

Give us Queen please.

Derik Queen? The bum who can’t even start ahead of Deandre Jordan?

/s

If I’m NOLA, trading Queen for a few 2nds after giving up your 1st this year is such a slap in the face

One of the biggest sunk cost decisions so far

They could even make it in between the end and start of each season so front offices could solely focus on creating a viable team or amass assets.

If they are going to get two firsts they are going to be low quality firsts that have heavy protections if that.

Far be it for me to defend my garbage team but personally I think Zion was doomed from the start. Maybe a team like the Heat could have gotten through to him but from the jump Zion had terrible habits, work ethic, and awful people around him so trying to get through to him was always going to be a challenge, though most teams probably would have done a better job, I’m not sure how many would actually be successful. The best thing a team could have done was trade him when his value was high and hope him bouncing around the league would be enough to make him question his decisions.

Well yeah because the Kings would’ve traded him already and he’d be flourishing with some other third team, Pelicans are like the anti-Kings, they hold onto everyone as long as they can despite being a bottom seed every year, the Kings start shipping people at the first sign of anything…

nah DJ was happy & excited to be with us, we just (rightfully) traded him away bc we wanted to tank for Wemby

sure DJ had a loud mouth after the trade but taking context into it, it was due to him missing us & he saw how not all franchises are the Spurs. he took the NBA emotionally instead of professionally as a business & found out the hard way that it’s all about business

I get why he wants to leave because the team wants to invest more in Fears but he actually hasn’t been a bad vet for the team. It’s unfortunate he got injured so we never got to see that lineup play out pre-Fears/Queen but I honestly have no complaints about the team trading for him. I’m still pissed as hell we traded for Poole though.

Joe Dumars says 2-3 firsts for literally every player, he bargains like a Facebook Marketplace seller, I wouldn’t be surprised if DeAndre Jordan had a 2 firsts asking price at this point…

They are indeed smoking the Herb.

You have my support.

The vision our incompetent FO has for the team differs greatly from what’s left of the smart fans. Personally, I’ve been wanting to send Trey to a winning team and get as many picks as possible since last season.

Same reason we didn’t trade Zion or Jones when they had high value. The front office desperately wants hope and Trey is young enough that they want to believe they’re a piece or two away from it being all figured out. They’re hoping to build around Fears and Queen and hopeful that Trey is a part of that, as foolish as it is.

I think Miami could use that moldy sandwich.

Really wonder where Murray goes. I also have him in fantasy this year lol.

Gale is neverrrrr selling bro.

Best we can hope for is a rebuild around Fears, Queen. Missi.

Trade the rest fr

Think the owner is better than what the alternative would be. Just look at what happened with the Lakers, Blazers and all the private equity owners

How’s Dejounte been playing so far? I remember him for defense but less so for playmaking and scoring but I haven’t been watching him play the last few seasons.

He’s overqualified to be a backup somewhere, he’s solid.

Yes let’s trade pacome dadiet for him.

Pacome has GREATTTT UPSIDE for the pels 😂😉Well even throw in a second round pick

This is one of those comments where people look at a box score and feel qualified to have a valid opinion

At this point, if your guy is still Zion, just say fuck it and go for vets who have a history of winning

He’s in year 7. There’s no reason on Earth he shouldnt be surrounded by 3 point specialist and a facilitator at this point in his career

Him playing n NOLA is like doing a bid.

Even next to prime Curry, he looked like a non-functional NBA player in 2023.

… and a team-first, solid locker room vet that young players can look up to and emulate.

Fans are not the front office. Not many fans would expect that much for him. Most likely this is the FO asking for a pie in the sky in hopes that someone pays it.

Idk what our coach is doing tbh. He seems like an elementary school gym teacher  when it comes to rotations.
