I don’t think enough people appreciate how rare this guy is. Good size & mobility, elite spacing, can drive, can playmake, and is very solid on defense for the last few years. You really can’t ask for more as your 2nd option.

By the refs, maybe. He definitely wasn’t winning it after the last few games of that series.
I’d say he was in the running for Finals MVP but the refs started calling a shit ton of fouls on him and Towns himself didn’t score enough the rest of the way.
Still very impactful games 3-5 but the fouls and lack of scoring did his chances in.
I don’t know how people say this when KAT, OG, and Brunson all had a legitimate, and arguably relatively even case for FMVP.
3x more fouls than points in the closing game. No way he was gonna get it doing that.
Maybe if it ended at game 4 with the tipped ball but not after game 5 lol
