I’d say Allen Iverson, but you can easily make an argument for Muggsy Bogues.

Calvin Murphy was 5’9” and made the hall of fame. Averaged 20 ppg five separate seasons. Scored 57 points one time and had multiple 40 point games.

How does Muggsy Bogues impact the meat off leaderboards with Shai and DMitch?

Chris Paul

probably iverson, no way that mf was above 6 feet. probably 5 foot 10. yes he got 7 inches on mugsy, but also a damn insane scorer. after iverson then i would say mugsy.

I had to look up Spud Webb’s career stats, but Muggsy’s VORP is 17.9 compared to Spud’s 11.5

Josh Hart would disagree

Justice for the Monstars, did anyone ever test Michael’s Secret Stuff for PEDs?

Wasn’t Lamelo wearing one that whole time???

It’s so wild to downplay Muggsy. The dude actually killed it. He exceeded in the NBA obviously he’s not in GOAT debates. But he was a starting caliber player for years which when thinking about every player in history that surpasses so many other NBA players.

Being short? You can’t be deadass 😂

Points: 12,009 (1st all-time) 3-Point Field Goals Made: 1,283 (1st all-time) Field Goals Made: 4,164 (1st all-time) Field Goal Attempts: 9,962 (1st all-time) Free Throws Made: 2,398 (1st all-time) Free Throw Attempts: 2,871 (1st all-time)

Kemba is Charlotte’s all time leading scorer, that should count for something

Every time I see Kemba smiling on the sidelines the darkness leaves me for a little bit

Growing up in NC? Ugh bandwagonners. The username checks out.

Kemba has way better stats than Muggsy, the only reason Muggsy is here is because of his height

He scored 8ppg on awful shooting, Kemba was an all star level player and even made All NBA, they are far apart and Kemba should get his number retired if Dell and Muggsy have

Probably after he fully leaves the team (Since he’s still a player development coach)

What about Cam 👀???

i think they did once. didn’t retire his jersey but i think they had a night honoring him during the 35th anniversary season or something like that

Without downplaying Kemba, Gerald Wallace is my favorite Bobcats player over anyone else. He wasn’t the shooter Kemba was but he was an elite defender and was good for a poster or two on most nights, and could go off for a random 30+ night every so often. I’m still mad we only got two years of him and Stephen Jackson together.

Neither were nearly as short as muggsy

My bad man I must be an idiot

Lol keep that shit on the other sub💀

Who hasn’t wanted to beat up Larry now and then?

lmao thanks for mentioning that i’d never seen this before🤣🤣🤣

Larry Johnson

Larry Johnson from UNLV was Grandmama. It was a national advertising campaign for Converse where LJ proclaimed his granmama could beat you in those shoes. He wore a flowery dress, pillbox hat and had his signature gold tooth and ferocious dunks.

The ability to block 7-feet Patrick Ewing at his height is legendary in itself

Damn they doing mugs dirty lol

HOF is just as much about impact as it is stats.

5’5 PG brother

how is it crazy? one of a kind player you won’t ever see again who managed to play for over a decade and was immensely talented

Might not have the hardware or accolades…

But you couldn’t post that man up no matter how tall or big you were. You’d get stripped almost immediately. And that’s absolutely a hall of fame level skill that nobody even a foot taller than him has been able to achieve. 6’3 guards get destroyed in the post.

A 5’3 guard would take the ball from you and leave you confused while he set up the perfect fast break

NBA hall of fame is not a high bar to reach

Idk about that. Using that logic you’re saying Dennis Rodman wouldn’t make it in modern basketball. You can contribute to your team without shooting. You’re a warriors fan you should know guys like Draymond Green with elite screen setting and defense are more valuable than having just another shooter. Bogues is legend no doubt

He shot .458 across his career. Which is slightly below the current average (last season) of .471 for the entire NBA.

And Chuck Hayes being the best center

Muggsy’s height playing in the NBA is like everybody on the court is Wemby.

Probably has to do with being short, but still competing at that high of a level.

If Bogues was 6-5 or if Barkley was 6-10 without adjusting their skill set, they would be considered the best at their positions.

I made this same argument for Steve Nash not being very quick or agile or tall, but still running laps around defenders for years as a case that he was the best basketball player in the league.

Charles Barkley is officially listed at 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m), though his actual measured height without shoes is approximately 6 feet 4 ¾ inches (1.95 m). [1, 2, 3]

He is 20th in rebounding all time, ahead of the somewhat undersized Dennis Rodman (24th and 6’7), could actually score, took the Jordan indomitabulls to 6 games, which included my favorite game ever, a triple OT game where Chuck had 24 points and 19 boards.

pound for pound you can make a case.

If you use inch-for-inch comparisons like pound-for-pound in boxing, I could see it.

Could Sugar Ray Robinson have beaten the much bigger Wladimir Klitschko? Maybe not, but many people still view Sugar Ray as the boxing GOAT. What he accomplished in his weight class was phenomenal.

5’3 with 39 career blocks. Like how does that even happen lmfao.

Different case, DJ fought people his size. Muggsy and Barkley played people bigger than them

This is pretty much the exact opposite. DJ fought people in the same weight class.

Muggsy played against people of all sizes.

The only similarity they share is their own size. Not the size of their competition

I think it’s tough to draw a comparison between a GOAT of one sport and someone nowhere near that in another sport

I mean no not really lol. DJ had much more success in the UFC than Muggsy did in the NBA, and he competed against people that were the same size as him.

Kemba wore 1 his rookie year before Gerald Henderson let him use 15.

Yeah the Pels did the right thing. OKC said they would give Seattle their history back if they ever get another team too, I believe

we’ve been the Hornets again for over ten years, tbh should have done this in like, 2018 or so

Like an NBA player being 5’3”
