Is he our loud-mouthed version of Kawhi? TWO TIMELINES AIN’T DEAD

He is the Borg. The Borg adapts instantly. Resistance is futile.

Cyborg

We haters in here we hate both

6-9 from 3 last night and was lights out from 3 in pre season

He made 6 3s literally a game before. He can absolutely shoot from 3, it’s a strength of his. Not just off spot ups but off the dribble too. The fact that he can affect a game like this when his shot isn’t dropping is a GREAT sign

Was ⁸⁄₁₈ (44%) up to this game. He was 37% at Michigan. If he can average around 35% for a slashing PF that’s great. If he can hold around 37% then he’s where Tatum usually hovers.

Just an off shooting night, Yax can shoot

he can most definitely shoot. it percentage will be solid by the end of the year, and after another season or two of getting settled, i’m confident he’ll be a clearly above average shooter. i’ve watched him a lot and you just see the shooting touch and IQ. he’s going to be really good.

Yea we got one timeline + Steph crossing the line to hang.

r/whoosh

Yeah fuck all that development shit been there done that get some finished products now 😂

The other advantage is you lock him down for several strong years, rather than for a developmental period where he might fly the coop before his prime anyway.

THIS IS PRIME BALL 😭😭😭 MF IS ROTY

They needed someone old enough to fit in with their stars.

Podz is getting paid like a top 4-6 guy in a team. Not bad from where he got drafted.

Podz playing very well in 2 games so far.

nahh, they both equal right now. podz is more polished compared to last season. he’s better than moody, but him and podz seems like the duo the warriors will be going

Maybe Kuminga shouldve done 5 years of college instead. Yaxel had way better development

G league ignite scam

Yaxel also didn’t start playing basketball until he was almost done with high school. Massive slacker by his own admission, his mom kicked his ass into gear to go play, and then he started from the bottom and worked his way up. He was a likely 1st round pick even at UAB before he transferred to Michigan for a season.

By NBA traits he might not have been the “best” prospect but he was easily the best player on an all time team. If he was a more selfish player in a more funneled offense like Duke then the NPOY race would have been much different.

Yaxel is on a rookie contract though for several years

Idc if we do current yax vs rookie kuminga or peak kuminga or current kuminga. It’s just a world of difference in terms of their IQ and ability to process the game and make plays for others, not just scoring.

also that smooth jumper is money

Cool story bro yax is still better

those are only going to get better as the time goes on and game at NBA level slows down for him. But he needs to improve defensively he has the tools

Genuinely fringe all star ROTY shit

ROY. There, I said it.

And 2 all time quotes - don’t forget to add those to the stat line

He already is it runs through him like it runs through jimbo when he’s healthy

JK ans Wise were projects, fo said fuck another project lol

This. Getting a developed player on a rookie contract is a godsend with the new apron rules.

We carry the flame

what does jakob poeltl have to do with this

Michael Jordan is in his what 50s now? Bit of a steep price.

Michael B Jordan

It could even be Yaxel Lendenborg.

In other words, a lowball offer.

Dubs would be fleeced harder than the Mavs, unfortunately

2013 Bron really up there?

also 88 Mike might need to swap with 96 (but you can argue since 96 got the ring)

obviously 16 Steph but maybe 21 or 22 Steph up there too (22 Steph whole season was amazing start to finish)

thought ppl really liked 18 Bron over 13 Bron tho?

As a 30-year-old Michigan grad who has never seen any of his big 4 sports teams win a title, yes. This is exactly how I talk about Yax. He does miracles on people

Money doesn’t work out. Think Dubs would take Yax on rookie contract over Chet for $41.2 mil.

If heat keeps losing, maybe even Giannis if we throw in 2 picks

Yaxel > Chet and Jdub

No way im trading my goat Yaxel for a “Luka doncic”

Why on earth they didn’t trade multiple picks on draft night is shocking to me. Getting Mara made sense but they could have easily gotten both

Because its fun to speculate? You ever met another sports fan before or shot shit with the boys over your team? Why can’t this be talked about?

Yeah for sure the Spurs are chomping at the bit to trade Dylan Harper away for Yaxel Lendeborg. This isn’t an overreaction to a good night from a promising rookie, not one bit

And the Heat would love to trade Bam for him too, spot on

Spurs aren’t taken yaxel for Harper lol

Or like a legit third option with lots of upside on a stacked contender like Dylan Harper?

Zero chance and I say that as a fan of his

Stop sniffing glue bro

Healthy JDub is an elite two way who won the chip as a key player. Dylan Harper just went to the Finals as a 20 yo and was a bit contributor.

Respectfully there’s levels to this and they ain’t getting traded for a 24yo rookie who just played his 5th NBA game lol. Maybe when Yaxel proves that he can be at an all-star level for a full season, then we might be able to have such conversations.

He got ADA accomodations from the league to play with a cane

The inverse Jayson Tatum who is still 19

The sub would rather wait seven years for an 18yo rookie to develop into a 5ppg bench warmer

He ages 1.5 years after every game!

What’s funny is Luka is inadvertently dissing his own teammate lmao. Wasn’t AR a rookie at 23?

Yeah who would want a 30 year old rookie smh my head

I heard he’s 42

Those are the team captains.

Draymond licking his lips at the content Yaxel is feeding his part time job. lol

You said this so comfy cos you have 4 rings in recent memory and don’t care, must be nice

Seriously, he’s an old old man

Yaxel is an extremely unique case, development wise. He genuinely needed all of his years in college to become what he is now, if he had shown these signs sooner he would’ve been drafted sooner, that’s all it is.

Ultimately even if an older player starts off stronger, won’t mean much if they’ll drop off earlier as well

We’ve already seen this with Malcolm brogdon. Won ROY, then 6 seasons later he was already on the decline

Teams want a long term investment, not a short term gain

I can name 50 1 and done college players that became all stars, how many 4 year college players have done that in modern times? NBA front offices are obsessed with one and done guys because they actually have a higher chance to succeed the earlier you let them play against NBA level competition. Yaxel if he keeps it up is like winning the lottery thats why he is talked about so much on here because hes an anomaly, not because NBA execs are doing something wrong. Plenty of 4 year college players get picked later in the draft and nobody turns out like Yaxel.

no shit, its 4 games in, nobodys being serious about this

I try to draft guys with bullshit outlier stats like 15 rpg at the end of my roster, even if their stats elsewhere suck. So if I know I’m going up against a team and will fall behind on that stat, I can stack that stat and sacrifice where I can afford to.

It’s served me well.

Myers would have whiffed this lol. Dude was allergic to drafting valuable players.

So far MDJ has done a decent job. Not 100% but pretty solid.

Al Thornton the OG 24 year old manchild

What we just witnessed is a miracle and I’d like you to acknowledge it as such

It’s ok unc

woosh

What’s one tantrum vs the multiple per game tantrums of some other players

Right… The amount of insecure Lakers fans crying on every Yaxel thread says otherwise.

lol. download the real app and check out the comments on Yaxel under the box score. 8.2k right now and counting. Tons of Luka bros in there.

Luka shot ¹⁄₈ when guarded by him btw

Luka shot 0/7 (I don’t count heaves as successfully beating the defender).
