It’s hilarious that he shit on the system Day 1 and became a convert on Day 2. His narration of his own development as he learns the ins and outs of the NBA will continue to be entertaining.

He can also learn from Jimmy Butler, one of the best at drawing fouls

Past Yaxel lost respect for Present and Future Yaxel

He’s already lived long enough in the nba to see himself become the villain.

LOL

You beat me to it

But does he complain on every possession though

Oh the turn tables

Bah humbug

That’s pretty much what every player learns, they just don’t say it out loud lol… gotta respect Yaxel for keeping it real./

When people say he’s got no filter, they mean NO FILTER.

Not diabolical at all. It’s true

It also rewards complaining to the refs

Baiting guys into fouling you is just basketball. The OG 3 pointer!

But I know I need to study it, refine my skill, and really become an expert in the craft.

Amazing quote

I honestly think this is Ants next step in becoming more efficient. It sucks but hes gotta do it at this point.

smart take, diabolical system. playing tough gets you next to nothing until the playoffs.

I hope Yaxel Lamelo and Ant never get media training

Candor is a virtue when your job doesn’t require discretion

It’s the league’s responsibility to take it away. Leveraging officiating and manufacturing contact is a pragmatic approach to scoring. In a hyper-efficient era, where we just went through a three point revolution and the rise of analytics, that’s going more to an extreme.

Maybe I’m being dramatic, but I feel like the game is in a dangerous place where too much of the scoring will happen with everyone standing still and the clock stopped. This kind of candor is good. There’s nothing wrong with seeking out contact and selling some calls, but we want earnest attempts to score at the end of the day.

He has honestly vindicated my stance as to why the league needs to bring back hand checking and revamp the foul system entirely. I have been called a conspiracy nut for pointing out the scoreflation problem and how the game penalizes defenses. What made it very damning is when he said he only watches highlights, which perfectly describes the modern fans who only care about 3s, and tik tok crap.

Yaxel is part of that generation and as a player he has to care about defense…..until the NBA. This explains everything. From the rough starts Team USA had during the Olympics and FIBA tournament. The first few games they struggle because the rest of the world allows defense besides the NBA.

For a rookie to call out the foul bait problem, and stars like Luka complaining for whistles is harming the game. It makes watching some games a damn chore. Then again, actual fans and those who know the game aren’t the audience. It’s your zoomers who watch highlights, and only care about scoring. It’s basically Zach Lavine coded in a memetic form.

There needs to be changed now or the ratings will decline. The game isn’t getting as much views because of parity and no dynasty. It’s the frequent inconvenient nonsense from multiple stream sites and the game favoring offense and treating defense like a crime.

The modern NBA would improve overnight if you brought in the following changes:

Allow handchecks.

Free throws can only come from the act of shooting.

No more 6 fouls causing a penalty to get free throws. There is no penalty.

Flops should be a technical 2 and a fine.

Refs who make wrong calls are also subject to fines.

This will bring old heads back, force the highlight tik tok addicts to actually watch games because they wonder why scoring has dropped.

Before I get false accused, no. I don’t hate the 3 pointer. And I don’t hate every change. Eliminating the lottery system by record and punishing the worst teams at the bottom regarding high picks and rewarding seeds 7-10? Fantastic move. And the players are getting chippy early on and want to win. I’m just saying the game would be so much better if you stopped treating defense like assault and battery.

The way the NBA treats defense is the same way as MLB banning all pitches besides fastballs or the NFL calls holds the same way the NBA deems just playing and element of defense like a foul. This game is in danger of being irrelevant if they don’t address the scoring problem. This problem is possibly responsible for teams being in cap hell from aprons because any player can drop a 15ppg average easily and get a bloated contract as a result which causes idiot GMs to overpay a player.

and with the news of the kalshi/polymarket partnership with the NBA…

‘Oh ya respect flopping around here? Bet.’

He’s accepted the MVP mentality. This guy is going places!

Yax: flirting

Deni: harassment

NBA history is a graveyard of floppers and foul baiters who never won anything. Two of the biggest foul baiters of the last decade (Chris Paul and James Harden) are both prime examples. Lebron and Steph are both incrediblely winning players who don’t flop and shoot low amounts of free throws.

He’s literally the kid who played NBA 2K like 14 hours a day, until his mom forced them to do better at school and get a chance playing actualorganized ball starting his senior year in high school.

He’s like so fan-surrogate aware. He’s even wearing Webber’s Golden State jersey, which is the comp for best other Michigan player for the Warriors before everything collapsed with Nellie and Webber’s feud.

“Tell Luka he’ll live to regret this”

He’s doing the Sideshow part right.

He is so funny

he was the best player in the game tbf. Steph and Jokic have 5 mvp’s between them and he was running the show. Steph was also pretty damn good. Also funny that he already has a better whistle than two dudes with 5 combined MVPs

He’s making a mockery of it and I think all fans are behind this. Watch his antics devolve into ridiculousness. Soon he’ll have some fake blood pouches in his socks.

By being a Lakers fan lol
