31/12/6 wow
+27, second highest on the team
To podzzzz. Eat it haterz
tell em
I’ve had my ups and downs with Podz but I gotta say. He is a fucking +/- demon and I don’t know how he does it.
He’d be 1 for 9 with 4 turnovers, they’d be cooking his ass alive on social media, calling Steve Kerr all kinds of slurs for playing him over kuminga (which makes no sense whatsoever ofcourse as they’re different positions). And I’d be the moron looking like a delusional fool trying to point out that this guy was +11 in a game we lost by 13.
He honestly really is the anti kuminga. Who would get a clean 20 points, solid efficiency, couple steals, and end up a nice -15 for the game. Whatever causes this shit is beyond my comprehension.
He’s what Kerr calls a great “connector”
It’s called defense!
He said rebounding in nba is easy. He’s right lol
He’s also 6’7⁄6’8 swole and spry lmao. The other big guys on our team are old so he feels like our center 😭
On 13 FTAs. Already has the NBA figured out.
This kid is amazing. Wish he and Steph had more help would be a great team to watch
It would be great if Yaxel becomes a superstar so we can have an actual Yaxel Luka rivalry
Brooks vs. LeBron type of stuff is funny but it’s even better when the guy talking trash can back it up
I legitimately don’t know the last time I’ve been this hyped this early in a Dubs rookie’s career. This is fun man.
Kum Bucket or Poole maybe? But even then those guys didn’t immediately rise to the hype.
Lmfao it was wiseman. And I don’t feel like a dumbass for it at all - guy is legit a monster athletically. He was 19 years old, a BIG 280 lbs, running the floor like Giannis. If i bet on 100 guys like that I’ll be right 95 times.
It definitely was NOT Poole. I had no expectations for Poole. I was legitimately more hyped for Jordan bell, Baldwin Jr, Eric paschall, even fckin Jacob Evans III
It’s almost more impressive Wiseman didn’t live up to any of his hype. It’s legit hard to be that bad at basketball when you’re that big and athletic
I fucking know dude. And people just write it off as another kwame brown, hasheem thabeet case where a semi-talented big man got drafted way too high and didn’t have anything to his game besides being tall.
Like no man, he’s legitimately a generational prospect from the neck down. He’s like Greg oden but instead of fucked up legs he’s got stage 4 CTE. If you were to rank all prospects of the last 20 years by pure athletic gifts, the only guys ahead of him would be hall of famers, Ben Simmons and Zion Williamson.
People are gonna see now that the Knicks signed him LOL. It’s baffling how good he CAN be.
I think people are confused by what I’m saying. Yaxel’s hype is growing in his first couple games in a way I don’t think I’ve seen recently. Wiseman’s hype died down pretty damn quickly when all those physical tools didn’t translate to any ability.
Basically the whole draft -> preseason -> early season hype cycle, Yaxel’s ascending and basically every other rookie we’ve had has fallen.
Idk I don’t think wiseman’s hype died down THAT quick as you’re saying. Everyone was convinced he’d be a star, and he would score 21 points (with 6 boards and -19 +/- ofc) and that would be enough to convince everyone including dubs fans that he was destined for stardom - “Look how easily he catches lobs! (aka jumps high, bobbles the ball, comes down, dribbles then dunks). The highlight reel is showing some jumpers too? Come on guys, the rebounding and defense and screening and passing and awareness will get there eventually”. And then he got injured and everybody thought it’s wraps cuz a championship team is adding a beast like that???
Until wiseman left the warriors, the MASSIVELY prevailing opinion was that wiseman was a hidden gem that Steve Kerr was holding back out of jealousy, bitterness and gay love for Kevon looney. All that shit died down within a month of him playing on another team….JUST like kuminga.
Kum bucket…
I really thought that Kuminga/Moody class was gonna take us back to the top.
I guess it did because we won it all their rookie year but it’s not like they were lights out studs lol
ohh got you now, I thought Moody would be Klay replacement, he always played with pose and like he was already a veteran whenever he got minutes you could see him doing the right plays within his limitations, then Keer sat him down and he started some bonehead plays but i still think he can be a NBA starter in a legit team
Wiseman moved so good, he was so raw but I was so excited to have a new type of player
Wiseman was so hyped up and exciting but he fell flat immediately. Shooting big man only had 3 double doubles his rookie year, Yaxel has 2 in 4 games.
Wiseman problem is that he doesnt know how to screen, like god damn young man, we all want you to succeed, please play like a center, you are not Embid.
general consensus around poole his rookie year was that is he nba player material? steve kerr said he looked lost his rookie year https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/y7874r/steve_kerr_on_jordan_pooles_development_i_never/
There was a stat saying Poole was the literal worst player in NBA in 2020
Are we forgetting that we sent him to the gleague dungeons
Pooles rookie year was so hilariously bad. He really lucked into a situation, being able to get so many reps in though.
Problem is his story has led the warriors staff to think they know what they’re doing.
and is lost now, g*d damn that punch and that contract got the game out of him
Yeah not sure what I’m thinking of. Pretty much as soon as I hit send on that I remembered he spent a while in Santa Cruz lol
Zero chance there was this much excitement for Kum Buckets this early. He had a slow start
There wasn’t. He was a pretty raw prospect. Had a crazy game against the bulls early on that year. He was always potential and eventually that potential wasn’t paying enough dividends. He really disrupted the flow of the offense
That’s why Yaxel is being compared differently. He’s being compared to peers of his age instead of years of experience in the league.
Announcers were saying it in the game too. Podz been in the league for 4 years and Yaxel is older than him lol. He’s pretty much running the Warriors offense now as he’s a better shot creator than Podz.
Wiseman had a pretty crazy debut, remember people screaming Giannis when he ran a transition fastbreak (i was probably lumped in with those people lol)
those guys weren’t coming in the league at 24 lol.
Not making fun of his age. But if they drafted him at 23, turning 24. They are SPEED running him playing time. He probably wouldn’t get this attention if he entered the draft 4 years ago.
As a long time Dubs fan, last time I was this hyped for a rook was when we traded for CWebb at the draft.
It is a great team to watch. Podz is good also. Jimmy is hurt and when he’s back, this team will cook. Just need to hopefully turn KP and picks into something
Seems a bit late for dinner to wait for Jimmy
Kid? He 24.
Daawwww
Kid? That’s a grown ass man no disrespect tho
So interesting to see the discourse with Yaxel compared to Austin Reaves…
Not really that comparable . Undrafted guys and high firsts have different expectations .
I think they meant they stayed in college for a long time, Yaxel stuck around for 6 (technically 5 and half of college bball) years while Reaves did 5 (4 with 1 year red-shirt) years
Draft capital means nothing once the season starts, only production
how so?
One of these guys was trash talking a superstar while getting blown out from day 1. The other wasn’t. Reaves was pretty quiet and always has been as far as that goes. Yaxel being a rookie and trash talking at a superstar level is incomparable to anything about reaves.
What exactly are you trying to insinuate? Genuinely curious. What about them would ever demand the same “discourse”??
You’re an idiot lmfao. He means they were both old rookies.
worry about your own guys bruh he just broke his leg
Dude, wtf
After watching French vs Japanese Twitter throw down this doesn’t even register as out of pocket idk
24 is not a kid anymore LOL
You mean this 24-year-old kid.
24 year olds are still pretty young in my eyes. I’m 42
42?! Just a kid
He’s an adult
Reaves joined at 23 and Luka’s been his backpack half the season🤷🏿♂️
Reaves is a borderline allstar at 28 after entering the league at 23. Yax got a chance
Blessed to see him and Curry able to play together before they both die of old age
lmfao
cant wait for Yax to body Cade in their match up
I love Yax (Michigan fan), will be a fun matchup so let’s relax a little. Don’t know if he’ll be able to body Cade just yet… am curious to see if he’s able to get to the rim against a team like the Pistons with the same kind of ease he did tonight.
Ya bro is the definition of NBA ready out of the draft
I’m guessing Morez must be really good for his own coach to take him over Yax, or Mara.
They already got a star wing in Flagg, and they desperately need PF/C depth with Lively not returning anytime soon.
Hiring ceiling timeline aligns more with Flagg.
Seems like the Mavs needed more defense and rebounding which Morez can provide. Whereas drafting Yax would be redundant since they have Cooper Flagg already in a similar realm of player.
I did not like how he looked against the heat but he’s a young big. Good to revisit this in like 2-3 years but I did think Mavs should have gone Mara if looking for a center. Also offers a different dimension to Gafford/Lively
Apparently not old rookies are like Dalton Knecht
What a fucking game he’s had man 31/12/6?? Cmon man lets go
some loud warriors fans in Denver
Curry fans, as usual.
It’s across the country, but this has been normal now for many years.
I was at the game (you can see me beating my chest at the end lmao) and yeah the warriors crowd was hella loud. Doesn’t help Denver is a transplant city and warriors tickets here are wildly cheaper than they would be in SF
Lmao i love it, you look like such a Redditor in that quick moment
😂 Just out here in awe of finally getting a player that can help Steph out. Yaxel looked too big, too strong, too quick for anyone to guard him tonight
You could fly to Denver, get tickets to the game, stay the night, and fly back the next day, and the cost would be the same as lower bowl tickets to a Warriors home game.
It’s honestly crazy. My tickets next to the the tunnel in row 3 was $120. I guarantee that same seat is wildly more expensive in the bay
Steph’s getting old. Might be the last few times some of us get to see him play
Fr, had to double check the court logos
Forgot it was an away game lol
Lost all respect for Jokics defense
Memes aside this kid looks legit already
You had respect for it?
Man loses last bit of respect he didn’t know he had.
That’s hope for me as a Manchester United fan
Nowhere is safe
dude I like Jokic, but lately he’s been such a whiner to the refs
Lately? He is my favourite player after Curry but he has always been a whiner, especially if they are losing.
Mine was gone after he lost to a twolves team sitting Edwards
The Pterodactyl tearing it up
Rookie of the year incoming!
~4 games into the season and it definitely seems like him or Cam Boozer at this point.
I think Yaxel wins ROTY but Boozer has the better career.
I still don’t think that’s at all likely but I had not even considered that as a possibility because I underestimated how much they would need him on offense.
Still don’t really think that’s likely but would be pretty exciting!
Not many other rookies are going to be given the number 2 role on their team. He’ll have a good chance at it.
What a great game from him. Gives me slight hope for the season.
Yaxel is the truth!!
Yaxel “Olden State” Lendeborg still got it
Look at Curry man so happy
He always looks like that when someone other than him has 20 plus
Happy to see it, dude should at least get a rook to be happy about.
Can’t wait for Tank Commander Lendeborg in his age 28 season 4 years from now. All jokes aside, this guy’s pretty good 🤷🏾♂️
Dubs just cooked the nugz at home. Steph didnt even play much the fourth. Y’all underrate the dubs
Unfortunately in the NBA you can’t just do that one out of four games and coast into and through the playoffs. Potential is there but one game doesn’t really mean much. Would love for them to put together more halves like that we’ll see.
To be fair, Podz and Steph sat last game and the memphis game was In the back until warriors collapsed. I think Podz has to play for this team to be competitive
There’s a one in a million chance that getting Jimmy back makes this team special. I don’t really care if they’re not real contenders. Just happy to see my team win.
Nothing I’ve just said is underrating the 2026-2027 Warriors lol
i wish you were right but we are still a fringe playoff/playin team unless butler is back and somewhat at the level he used to be
Without Jimmy, they gon be arse until he comes back. But they will be deep under the standings already
best player on arguably the most dominant college team of all time, yall shouldnt be surprised
“Yaxel Rose” and throws it down! Not sure how I feel about this call lmao.
Nuggies and their MadTV coach on fraud alert tonight.
Alfred E. Neuman
Roty My goodness.
People forget that up until recently players didn’t come in the league at 18-20.
+27. Just a dude who knows how to play winning basketball
Hes legit
But but but he’s 24
I think its gonna be a long season for the Nuggets, we probably should be 0-3 right now.
Resistance is futile!
ROTY🗣️🗣️🗣️
I must be high as fuck for a second I thought that said 31 points LMAO
Showing up after that matchup with Luka.
Who cares about a little smoke with the lakers? Everyone knows Luka’s a baiter, why not call him out?
Brother in Christ I’m actually giving my props to him for showing up no need to get worked up dude.
let jokic play defense against a rookie
Patience and poise on this guy is crazy. He’s a matchup problem already for defenses.
Old ass rookie back it again
… and he locked up Luka
No he didnt lmao gtfo
Your username isn’t helping your argument here…
The only shot Luka hit on him was a halfcourt fluke
There will be quotes
Great hustle Jokic
