Riley has been washed for a while, Spo just covering for him

Heat fans won’t accept that this is true.

Huh? Heat fans have been going at Riley for years to get Jimmy support and the plethora of missed whales he keeps going for.

Whoever could have predicted surrounding Giannis with a bunch of non shooters and no one who can create offense wouldnt work out

MySilverBurrito | MIA

…. the Heat shouldve lmao.

We literally surronded Bam with shooters 6 years ago and did well.

ZestycloseResist5594 | MIL

Heat fans have been the ones saying this for years. They were begging on their hands and knees for Riley to get Butler some help. They really screwed themselves (and us) by not getting Lillard.

Where? Some of us are celebrating the Giannis trade solely in that Riley got his whale and he can get off this treadmill regardless of what happens.

Never understood why they gave up on Duncan. Shooters go on a shooting slump all the time and it seems like they put Duncan in a dog house after poor shooting year.

Igoudala made a comment about how sometimes Heat culture can be more negative than positive because how hard they are on their players esp when they make mistakes. It makes players lose confidence and second guess themselves.

streetchemist | CLE

17 | 5 hours ago

His poor shooting year was 22-23 and then he played 2 more seasons with the heat shooting 40% from 3. They didn’t give up on him. The pistons sub was demanding he be traded or waived last season because only like 15 of his 45 million deal is guaranteed

Yeah for me the defence has been incredibly surprising. I was worried about the offence but I thought at least the defence would be legit and maybe Miami would focus on trying to force turnovers to try and get easy baskets. But it’s all bad right now

SuperVaderMinion | MIN

17 | 5 hours ago

The perimeter defense is what’s killing them right now, Klay Thompson might not be on this roster by the end of year, he’s completely unplayable right now.

tronovich | CHI

4 | 5 hours ago

Last year’s Mavs were ass, yet they still bought him out.

IcyRelation2354

0 | 5 hours ago

For sure. I thought Davion Mitchell and Wiggins would be solid enough. Klay was a decent positional defender last year and I figured if he was the 5th best defender in the starting lineup then you’re in good shape. But he’s been awful and you’re right, the perimeter defence as a whole has just been terrible

Just a giant coincidence that people are saying the same exact thing about Spo as Giannis’ last 3 head coaches. No way its a player problem and its really hard to build an offense around Giannis

MySilverBurrito | MIA

No way its a player problem and its really hard to build an offense around Giannis

The Heat have build around a similar playstyle tho. We’ve had solid shooting wings and 3&D guards. Hell, we’ve even had stretch 5s. (Edit: see: Bam with Olynyk/Crowder/Tucker/Iggy/Leonard/Johnson)

Idk how the FO saw the Bam/stretch big fits and thought “yea lets double down on non shooting bigs”

hk0125 | PHI

Well they traded players that would compliment Giannis well for Giannis.

I really love this comment sitting under a bunch of comments about the defence, which was consistently elite every year under Bud.

MySilverBurrito | MIA

25 | 6 hours ago

Some context, Olynyk was a fine extension and was a solid player for us. He was traded because his contract was only one really moveable, even if he had cold streaks towards the end.

I’m still annoyed at the Tyler Johnson one. I dont know why we bit on the Nets poison pill contract.

The Heat need a backup PG who can create and put some points on the board.

New_Essay_4869 | OKC

15 | 6 hours ago

They dont even have a starting pg who can create. Giannis is forced to be primary playmaker

nocontracts | MIN

2 | 3 hours ago

Nah, Davion can legit playmake. He’s averaging 7 assists per game this far. Sometimes Giannis just takes the offense upon himself and tries to do everything - he can be a bit of a black hole on offense and sucks the air out of the team trying to do it all himself. It also doesn’t help that Bam has been way too passive.

Ok, but who had Miami as a contender this season? I don’t think anyone can have looked at the roster and thought “Oh, yeah, this is the finished product.” It was clear they were going to be meh this year and had to hope that they attracted good players in the near future.

Don’t disrespect my guy Dion like that.

I would use to play 2k16 as canonical Dion against my friends and tell them that he will be scoring every point and only passing to regain his dribble. I won more often than not.
