The Watcher

When I go back in time to watch the signing of the Declaration of Independence, but Jeff Teague is already there

Counter to that, most players that have played with Giannis said he was very easy to play with because they get great looks.

What OP failed to put in the title was this is PG specific. It is also not true. Hill was a great fit with Giannis, too.

He didn’t lead the team in time on-ball for pretty much the entirety of Bud’s time in Milwaukee. We handled by committee, the PG (first Bledsoe, then Jrue) did slightly more than Giannis who in turn did slightly more than Middleton. His usage was (and remains) stupid high because he’s a great play finisher and the only consistent rim threat we had, but he was off-ball a lot.

I mean he does get others involved. He’s a great drive and kick guy. He’s actually an excellent playmaker in general. But does that match what Bam does? It does not. He’s far from the only superstar in the league who needs the roster built around him.

Run and Dunk man, not Set a screen, Run and Dunk man.

funny thing is he won in 2021 using pick n rolls. dude found a winning solution and left ut

It was hard to watch Dame with the Bucks. What should have been a great pairing looked awkward whenever they were on the court together

Harden was right.

He’s a much larger Russell Westbrook

What if they go the opposite direction; every time giannis drives to the basket, bam runs over and elbows his defender in the face for him

It’s sorta what harden said before that was flamed on Reddit - basically calling Giannis low skill.

James Harden was right about him

I remember when the Dame trade happened and a lot of people were theorizing how it was going to be an amazing trade because of how “lethal” their new “pick-and-roll game” would be…Then some haters (It’s me 🤷‍♀️ I’m some haters) clowned those fans and asked if they have ever actually seen Giannis play 😭

New pick-and-roll game not so lethal after all 💀

I mean can you fault him? Dudes 2xMVP , 1x FMVP, 1 championship, 1 league cup, 1 league cup mvp. DPOY etc. dudes won practically every award there is to win playing his way

“Wants to play the one way” or “needs to play the one way to be effective”

Dame didn’t really want to be in Milwaukee either. his heart wasn’t in it

blud wanted to be in Miami

‘Run and Dunk’ got him a trophy. Hard to argue with the results.

Teague wasn’t in the locker room like me. I know better

He’s always said that Giannis isn’t fun to play with

Yeah he loves to talk about how unpleasant certain teams were to play for that happen to line up with the years where he was old and shitty at basketball

Im typically not a fan of his takes, but I think this is one I might agree with. This is also why his best fit is with Shai, who would get touches over Giannis. Thunder trade needs to happen. I want to see Giannis on a team where he isn’t THE guy.

That’s this sub in a nutshell tbh

That’s every thread

giannis doesnt set screens and has like negative value off the ball.

there was an incredible play in their last game where bam gets the ball in the post and starts to attack, except giannis decides thats the time to just sort of lazily walk into the paint as well and bring his defender over for an easy double. it wasnt even a cut, it was literally a casual stroll with the shot clock ticking down. baffling

Yeah dame was a dream pairing for giannis and he just refused to mesh with him. It was a very bad look for my estimation of giannis. Great player but clearly not portable.

That’s what gets me about Giannis, though, he’s not “sacrificing”. His usual playstyle probably hurts as much as any screen and he basically has every tool to be the closest to perfect roll man we’ve ever seen. Could get all the same numbers easier than he gets it now, but he just won’t.

He’ll get hate but hell also probably get a lot of people like me who hear this clip and DO trust what hes saying to some degree. I take it with a grain of salt because im not in the situation of course

It’s just three games though. How are we blaming anyone for a brand new team not coming together in three games?

And the season is already cooked for Miami. Dang.

I still crack up that Teague said Bud told him they wanted him there to play real minutes then stuck him on the bench once they acquired him. Got his ass lol. But Teague got a title out of it so it’s crazy he complains at all haha.

old heads be reminiscing like…

The crazy thing is that he could have been a minor Bucks folk hero. He straight up won us a playoff game. All he does is talk about all the grievances he has with a team that won the championship.

Doesn’t seem like a great fit imo but they’ll figure things out. Might require a few trades.

He did not have total control of where he wanted to go.

Becauss Bucks wanted the Heat package more???

Boston reportedly offered JB and 2x FRPs since the money matched. Heat gave up all their assets, 4x FRPs (1x swap), and a SRP. I believe the Bucks played the Heat by using Boston to force Miami to offer more.

Giannis probably liked the idea of playing with Bam.  Giannis made Brook Lopez into an all defensive team player so Giannis/Bam combo should or could be great

I would say it’s the opposite, if he starts up not making his shots he gets too aggressive on defense to stop the lead from ballooning and then gets into foul trouble and if he’s in foul trouble the game is over pretty much

Just yapping.

Nice fanfic

1% commenters gotta get there somehow: by pulling baseless shit out of their ass

I’ve said this before, as well. They’re different flavors of AI. Their gift is relentless paint pressure. The shadow of that gift is that everyone else is mostly relegated to catch and shoot. It can work, with rosters built around them. It doesn’t work at all without a roster built around them.

Wrstbrook is a more willing passer and ball handler.

If Giannis could actually run the point, the Heat would have no issues rn. Thats literally Ben Simmons with a better jumpshot and more size.

Their game’s are quite different, firstly given their height difference. Westbrook is a very willing passer and will take lots of jumpers, his shot IQ isn’t as good. Giannis works primarily in the paint and is also better defensively. Let’s also not forget that Giannis did win a chip as the #1 guy.

Dare i say… run and dunk man

Difference defensively is well massive. Offensively Giannis works much better as a roller or in general as a screener than Westbrook. He’s also much taller so he can get to the same areas of the court as Westbrook but convert at a higher rate

Giannis is an all world defender and Russ was, at best, getting his teams into trouble on defense with misplaced effort and, at worst, largely apathetic to the concept of off-ball defense

He is C/PF who doesnt do Pick-n-rolls.

Very hard to play with as any kind of point guard.

He is also PF who is only threat from paint.

Very hard to play with as traditional center.

Giannis is just overall difficult player to build around.

Maybe Giannis gave him depression

Uhh is this ignoring the catastrophic injury ?  Of course he had mental struggles , he lost almost 2 years of his career .

Giannis has a secretly selfish style of play

I’ve seen this garbage take here before. Giannis doesn’t set screens? What? He ran the pick n roll with Middleton on repeat.

Blaming dame being ass on Giannis wild. Giannis won as a #1 option.
