And he’ll get to play with his own trade package next year!

Heat culture brought to you by mr senile

These comments always age so funny. This time last year that was a clown package that the bucks would be dumb to take. Now these are great players. Herro has been a joke on this sub for years. Ware plays less minutes now than he did on Miami. Kas doesn’t even get minutes. Jaime is gonna want a big deal and will immediately be overpaid. See you in 79 more games.

Idk, in this case it’s a fleece. Giannis gets his trade value to MIA then he goes to play with them and bigger assets lmao

Happens a lot in relationships.

I heard Tyler Herro wants out of Milwaukee. He would fit nicely alongside Bam

I’m enjoying their season so far.

Haha yea hilarious

yeah that’s an insane abbreviation lmao

Garry Trent jr has a huge contract now and there are rumors it’s a backend deal especially seeing as he doesn’t play and isn’t worth that anymore

I’m not saying it’s “fun” to trade your homegrown superstar to another team, but it’s nice when you get an actual bidding war and get pieces back.

I hope Giannis ends up coming back just to fulfill the same Dame trade arc.

GTFO NEVER. The heat will now accept PG13 for Giannis as they realize he is leaving anyways and are a complete failure of an org.

We love our broccoli haired stud

not this dumb narrative again

He is a great coach. But what the hell is he going to do with that roster?

Pretty sure the whole plan was to sign some FA this offseason for him. I mean, look at their starting 5 - it’s absolute garbage.

The nba is too talented now, you cannot win with one amazing player and the rest of your team being horrible.

Nah Reddit knows better.

Spo will definitely keep them above water but I just don’t see the talent on the roster for them to be a serious title contender. Way too much competition in the East alone, never mind the West if they make it to the finals.

Didn’t two of those teams make the NBA FINALS?

Giannis and Bam can coexist but it’s more that you need 3 knockdown outside shooters that actually hit their shots tho than just 1 guy who can shoot - inside out game on offense would be humming but not with so many washed guards. Although it is also contingent on Bam taking a more active rim protector role in drop like Brook used to and it’s hard to say if he can accept that. But either way, you can have 1 non-shooter next Giannis, problem is everyone else needs to be able to hit from distance and y’all just don’t have that yet.

That said, I do think streaky af THJ is due for a game soon where he’ll suddenly rattle off 5-7 3s in a row - that will give a better vision of what the team could look like with capable, consistent shooters.

Well I was talking about now haha. You can obviously tell that interview was months ago from the court.

Both those teams were going nowhere fast

I think it’s pretty well understood that the Bucks traded for Dame at the behest of Giannis in a “make a move now or im outta here” sort of way. Whether or not Giannis specifically requested Dame, I have no idea, but either way the Bucks going sideways is entirely due to this trade being a complete disaster both in terms of fit (because Giannis and Dame absolutely did nothing for each other) and also because of Dame’s achilles exploding. So I think it is still completely fair to blame Giannis for ruining the Bucks, because if he had just requested a trade earlier instead of eternally sitting on the fence (which he is still doing to this very day) then the Bucks would probably still be in a relatively good position compared to today, or at least it would be possible.

That being said, he did bring them a chip, and if Jalen Brunson did the very same thing to the Knicks, pussyfooting around a trade request, ruining the team composition, and ultimately blowing it all up before leaving, I would still be happy. I hope Bucks fans are feeling the same way.

Since when do you have to sign a massive contract to help you realize you need a rebuild lol

Hope it works out for you too.. growing up is so annoying I’m at best cautiously optimistic bc so much can go wrong. I also feel like if it works out my career will be in a much better spot, but it’s hard knowing I left a job I could have stayed allegedly forever at.

My manager kinda sucked tho so whatever

Government jobs are no longer stable is the issue.

Taylor Jenkins coached 487 NBA games before this season

Herb Kohl was out here calling in government favours to get his family over to the US and people still can’t imagine why this decision might have been difficult for him. Like the fact we suck was the only consideration he could possibly have.

I think in the long term if you look at everything Giannis has said it’s always been pretty consistent. He’s always said that he loves Milwaukee and doesn’t want to leave, but that he wants to win a chip even more and will leave if he has to. He then spent a lot of time waffling on that last part before finally pushing for it. I don’t think he liked the implication that he didn’t like the city or organization when that came up, but he’s always been pretty consistent about leaving being an option. A lot of his weirdest quotes over the years are him basically trying to talk himself into doing something that he doesn’t really want to do but thinks has to do.

Giannis is an evil mastermind. The only time he showed his true self was when he fought the ladder

woof cynicism like this is just so lame

what a fun mindset to have

What a weird way to think about this. Everyone isn’t out here scheming ²⁴⁄₇.

Lmao «fake manipulative people»… bro is a basketball player man, it’s not that deep

I’m not questioning the understandable anger with the mixed signals from Giannis and his team over the past season.

Must be justifiably upsetting and frustrating for the Bucks fans, and I sympathize, genuinely (many of us are still salty about the Kawhi drama, so we feel you).

But to be fair to Giannis, as somebody who has no dog in this fight, I feel like this particular quote of his, isn’t part of these mixed signals.

Like you can want to leave, really look for better options for your future (with all the business, media scrutiny, rumors, third-party and politics involved behind closed doors, which can be complex to navigate) and yet be genuinely and legitimately sad to leave behind what you gave so much of your life to, and be afraid of making a mistake.

Because the unknown is exciting, but it’s also scary.

It’s the cost of investment dilemma in psychology:

The more time and energy you invested in a relationship or endeavor, the harder it is to leave behind, and grieve.

It’s like leaving a partner that you still love but you feel you’re not going in the same direction, or leaving a company you devoted a lot to for a decade+, with colleagues who became family, welcoming you in another country, for the chance of a better future, but with no guaranty you’re making the right decision.

If anything, that’s a very humane and universal sentiment.

And it’s hard for the one that’s left behind, to not have a clean definite closure, for sure.

We can say a lot of things about Giannis though, but he personally never struck me as someone who didn’t truly care about the Bucks, and really hasn’t tried very hard to make it work.

I’m sure, deep down, parts of him wish he could have made it work, kept winning with the Bucks who believed in him from the beginning, helped him become who he is today, and retire there as a legend.

So he probably also feels some genuine sadness and loss there… You’re his “First Love” after all, and you’re all he knew for his entire adult life. That’s impossible to forget.

He’s human too, and a “divorce” is rarely easy to navigate. Let alone this public, and with that many parties and stakes involved.

It’s not just a franchise, it’s the city, the fans, the incredible memories, his friends/relationships, his habits and everything he’s built, that he leaves behind.

Omg the amount this exact comment has been repeated here over the past few seasons regarding Giannis is insane. A player publicly saying ‘I want to be traded’ is the absolute worst thing. Fans will hate the player, fans will hate the org, the org will hate the player, teams will lowball your org, chemistry is ruined incase a trade fails. It’s ALWAYS the nuclear option.

It’s almost always better to request a trade privately, and then there are private/semi-public ways to force it like not extending a contract, playing the media game etc. If all that fails, pretend it never happened, and lock in till the next transfer window. Relationships usually can recover from that but not from the nuclear option.

“More people would respect it if he was just like I wanna be traded”.

Even one year of NBA fandom would tell you this isn’t true at all. Players who demand trades are slandered to hell and back all the time.

Well not the idiots of course

Not in there since 2012 come on man old habits are easy to forget when u have that nba money
