The Heat and Knicks both start 0-3.
While the Knicks defense has been great the first three games, (6th in OPPG). The offense has been abysmal, ranking dead last in PPG. Meanwhile the Heat have just been mid all around, 24th in PPG and 26th in OPPG.

Heat have Bam83 and Giannis, they should b winning games.
They should have won the game against the Hornets, but the Pistons and Wolves are much better teams than the Heat.
There is a reason most pundits had the Heat in the teens in pre-season rankings, just having Bam and Giannis doesn’t do shit for you when the rest of the roster can’t create on offense and the fit between Bam and Giannis is bad.

No offense but the Knicks are coming off a chip and the Heat are coming off a blockbuster trade for a Giannis rental. Expectations are high for them.
Warriors are coming off two devastating injuries to their core, no KP, and Yax. Pretty safe to say that expectations are rock bottom.
Big difference is that the Knicks losses have been close while Heat’s 3 losses have 2 blowouts at home and were down 20 points to the hornets that lost to the hawks by 40 points. Im a Heat fan, but I think Knicks have a higher chance of turning things around.
Tbf you can make the point that Heat literally have changed half of their roster while the Knicks are basically the same roster that went to the Finals. I still agree though

It may not show up in the numbers yet as far as paint defense, but not having Mitchell Robinson who was arguably our best defensive player that can protect the rim, anchor the defense, and offensive rebound at a historic rate is a huge missing piece to our team that we have yet to recover from.

Our starters outside of KAT look hungover whenever they try to take a shot. Awful shooting especially from Brunson who takes the most shots.

Mikal Bridges is a literal nothing burger on both sides of the floor while Jalen Brunson is not scoring efficiently yet. It’s annoying, but both of their track record suggest they’ll turn it around at some point.

He does something of this sort every year. About 2 months of the season, he will literally not try. And for the rest of the season, he’ll try just a little.
The not trying part has come early. Usually it happens in December and January, not October. He will be fine, it’s just frustrating to watch especially when the rest of the team could use him.

there was some stat i saw earlier where the heat defense has basically allowed no rim attempts and have forced the 3 teams we played to take some of the lowest quality shots and theyve all hit them at absurd rates. idk if the defensive stat matches the line test but the hitting at absurd rates has definity
its doesnt help that our offense actually did generate good quality shots and we’ve hit absurdly low on them

Their defense was no joke. People vastly overlook how crap their offense was in the Finals because ours was even worse, but we might’ve swept if KAT, Hart, and OG didn’t take our guys to school on defense
It was weird. Its like the Knicks tapped into a basketball nirvana Game 4 against the Hawks. I know KAT had a lot to do with it but the passing and the shooting was bonkers during that run.
Yeah they were a more talented 23 Heat team that made it to the finals. Funny enough I think Brunson for the run shot slightly below his standard during the playoffs overall. But OG was scoring like Kawhi as the third(?) option and then you had Shamet playing the playoffs of his life.
Not really, Brunson has never been very efficient in the playoffs. He just shoots a lot and all people remember are the makes.
It’s why it was dumb when everyone piled on that one reported who said they didn’t think Brunson could lead a team to a Championship. Especially since the Knicks won by running the offense through KAT instead.
