LaMelo hits Beringer with a lob from half court
Lamelo changes everything for this team
Unlocked the entire team. Feels like the missing piece for the team
I can’t believe the defense got better on top of adding a guy that injected our offense with steroids
I’m shocked at the defense. I assumed we were sacrificing defense for a high power offense. Everyone has bought in. We still miss some zones, but the effort is there.
What losing Dubious Handle does for a team.
julius and naz defensive lineup was almost a league worst. the overall buy-in is higher on that end
Also shout out how strong the communication seems to be three games into Melo’s tenure. Him and Rudy figuring it out will be the final level
Even if LaMelo is not a great defender he is still 6’7 and can disrupt a lot of perimeter plays
He’s been borderline elite defensively these first few games. Small sample sizes and all that, but he’s been a lot more than just passable. He’s been a menace in the passing lanes, fighting through screens, contesting every shot, getting on the defensive glass…
For some reason I thought he was 6’2”
Naz was objectively awful on defense, and was a terrible rebounder for his size. Randle was good on ball and a decent rebounder but off ball was atrocious and asleep at the wheel.
we expected him to unlock Ant and Rudy
I didn’t expect him to unlock literally everyone on our bench and also make JK happy
Lamelo on a real team is crazy, it’s like when Goku took off his training weights
I don’t fault Hornets. Their thinking is kind of right, he’s a bit out of control and not look like a winning player.
But that’s only because he’s never been in a team with a player better than him. So you can’t fault Hornets in seeing it that way. Pair him with a true alpha, a defensive wall of Gobert, a 2-way god McD, Ball unlocks the whole team and bring them to a place they’ve never been before. He’s even likely unlocked a 3nD JoKu that r/nba relegated to the I’mSickOfHearingHim zone.
he’s a bit out of control and not look like a winning player.
Exactly, most fans as well as the NBA media really need to stop mindlessly peddling this false narrative of him not being a winning player.
Lamelo has always been a winning player. He is an All-Star level ceiling raiser who makes even subpar players look good. The only thing which held him back was playing basically his entire career with average or below players.
People complain about his ‘chucking’ while ignoring the fact that due to the poor quality of his teammates, a distant 3 would usually end up being a statistically better option than passing to his teammates that couldn’t even consistently make open 3s.
The second he finally has good teammates, this immediately stops as he can actually trust them to make the most of his elite playmaking (eg. Last season with the Hornets once Kon arrived and Miller was fit). Now he has Ant who is one of the best shooters in the league so of course he isn’t going to be making low % plays every time.
This team changes everything for lamelo. People knew he was good but dude isn’t carrying heavy weight in games now.
I didn’t realize offense could be this fluid, I’m floored.
lamelo +33 in 17 minutes, he’s about to show the league why the Hornets had the #1 offense for the latter half of last season
He’s incredible, just absolutely transforms an offense. Haliburton-esque. The trade still makes absolutely no sense to me
Wolves might really win it all this year, or Vikings, one of them
Ehhh Vikings need a competent offense. They could use Lamelo.
Lamelo at QB might unlock the offense
Well he’s got the height for either qb or left tackle so plug him into one of those spots I won’t judge which one
he’s got the weight for a fan in the 2nd level of the stands
Kyler was at the game tonight….maybe it will rub off on him
Why not both?
Id probably just kill myself cause how could life get any better
Hell yea brother. Let’s pact.
Backflips off the Hennepin bridge with the boys
Alexa: warn me when 4 hours is up
I like the wolves chances a lot more than the Vikings
Yea definitely both, saying these things about MN football and basketball teams and starting to really believe them in October has never led to decades of repeated constant crushing disappointment
Thanks for the double curse.
Wolves and wild have the best chance and are also my top two choices for who I’d want to win one
I’ve been saying for awhile that the Wolves really just need a real Point Guard.
Dlos bum ass had wolves fans coping with the corpse of Mike Conley
Mike was a good-to-great but not incredible PG his first few years with us. The last two offseasons really seemed to take a toll each time though.
Mike was amazing that first year…..it just was a slow but painful decline for the man ;-/
this is the best i have ever seen that trade summarized…tho i do love my unc MC
As a Melo truther, I’m feeling very validated right now. I can’t believe all the nephews in my team’s sub were trying to tell me how we didn’t need him and he was a liability lmao. So many fans don’t know ball
Always thought lamelo was underrated. Hornets were a trash team
Mr. Ball is genuinely the most underrated player itl 😂 insanity, all the narratives about him.
Still can’t believe he was traded for Naz Reid and practically 1 first
One clip on this sub from the entire game and it’s a Social video (albeit a good shot). People snoozing on some electric Wolves basketball
I’m still shocked that LaMelo’s stepback on CMB from late in the third quarter hasn’t been posted. It was such a disgusting move and shot on an elite defender
I thought it would be up in minutes. Beautiful shot
You don’t get it we need another 30 posts about how Luka had to drop 52 just to squeeze past the Jazz lol
Buck buck doesn’t do Wolves highlights 😢
Buzz buzz Woof woof motherfucker
This angle is clean. Joan is gonna be great off the bench with Lamelo setting him up.
Throwing alley oops lobs is hard, doing it from half court is awesome
Oh yea
