[Murray] Tenth Luka Doncic 50-point game of his career. Since Doncic entered the NBA in 2018, only James Harden (16) and Damian Lillard (11) have more 50-balls than Luka
Lillard gets forgotten too often in these “elite scorer” conversations.
His scoring was right up there with the MVP players.
Only other player besides curry where pulling up from 30+ feet was a good shot
If you recall, it was a bad shot
Was?! He’s not dead…
Hated playing against him during his peak. He would ALWAYS cook the Lakers.
Lillard probably has a T-Mac like legacy when it’s all said and done. Tmac vs Kibe was a real argument growing up (at least here in Texas). Im sure Portland kids argue that he was just as good of a shooter as Steph. Also similar playoff “success” between Tmac and Dame.
Dame has been a much better performer and more clutch than TMac in the playoffs though
Not really
2021 Lillard, you just had to be there.
Dude was an absolute demon, unlimited range, got to the basket at will
If the Blazers had the sense to pair him with Jrue instead of CJ, that team would’ve gone so much further. Two undersized scoring guards who can’t defend and aren’t fans of playing off the ball was never going to work in the playoffs.
He literally got a “never been done since Wilt” stat, made me so happy to be a Blazers fan.
you mean 19-20 season?
Time to mount up again, Dame.
Harden is insane lol
yep. 9 50+ games in 18-19 season.
By the end of his career he’s going to be in a lot of scoring clubs that only involve Wilt and/or Jordan.
he’s probably going to pass them in career ppg at some point this season
Maybe but the numbers go down when players get old so Luka could finish his career with like 28-29, still great obviously
Harden probably got ten of those 50 balls the year Luka was drafted lol
It was 9. LOL
Inspiration for Luka to carry the torch. He’s even terrorizing Utah just like Harden lol
Ik this is a Luka post but man, prime Damian Lillard was something to behold. Shame he never got the help he deserved
Always wanted to see him get to the finals
The difference is Luka has just entered his prime….
And Luka is a player maker. 50 and 10 assists today
I’m not trying to get into a dame vs Luka debate here, but dame is also an underrated playmaker. Hes averaged 7+ assists every year since 2019
If only he got to Milwaukee sooner.
Fuck off.
Single handedly won that game for the Lakers with hero ball
Reaves didn’t score an efficient 30 for this to be called a “single handed win”
Not saying Reaves didn’t have a good game too. But Luka hit 3 threes in a row in the clutch, all of a sudden Lakers went from down 3 to up 6
Or everyone else who actually got us back in the game after Luka’s ass first quarter
luka was like the only one scoring first quarter it was the rebounding that sucked
It feels like you didn’t even watch the game lol
Put some respect on AR 29pts 81.8% TS
AR had a 0 ball in the first quarter than dropped 15 quickly in the second to bring us back in the game to end up with an insanely efficient 29 point game. This was absolutely a two man effort even though Luka was obviously the lions share
Only one undefeated in his 50 point games
The Knicks game where Mavs were down 8 with like 40 seconds left and still won is so insane.
Luka had to pull off the missed ft get your own rebound and make a shot
I think that’s the best game he ever had.
the 73 vs Atlanta was insane. I think he was 25⁄32. But the Knicks game has the more memorable single moment
Collectively I think it’s the Hawks game https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/401585262 but the ending of that Knicks game was insane
Nah man the Hawks game is just the best game I have ever seen by a player. You score 73, that itself is crazy, but on 91%TS with just 4 quarters, no forcing it, not a crazy amount of free throws. There’s a world where he shoots more instead of passing, game goes to OT and he gets to 90
Alternatively, be the first guy to ever score 60/20/10, overcome an 8 point deficit in the last 34 seconds of the game, with the intentionally missed 2nd FT, of which he caught the rebound mid-jump and while still in the air, shot the ball back at the basket, made it, and forced OT which they then proceeded to win.
It’s a far more unbelievable sequence of events + a statline that nobody has ever had, not even Wilt.
down 9 with 30 seconds left*
Embiid is 8-0
So crazy that he’s as high as he is on some of these lists considering he’s played like 100-150 fewer games than most of the other players.
50 balls Harden - 16 Dame - 11 Luka - 10 Curry - 10 Giannis - 9 Embiid - 8 Booker - 7 SGA - 5 Tatum - 5 Jokic - 5
Who is that?
Luka
Fat ass
Funny how Luka Harden both were “fat boys” and still so lethal.
Your right he does have a dumpy
I was curious who else was on the list.
Harden has 16, Dame has 11, Luka and Steph both have 10, Giannis has 9, Embiid has 8, Booker has 7, and then SGA, Tatum and Jokic all have five. Those are all regular season.
In the playoffs, Spida has the most 50 point games with 3, then Tatum, Murray and Dame have two each, and Embiid, Jokic, Steph, Butler, Giannis and KD all have 1.
Spida is gonna have such an interesting discourse once he retires. He hasnt done much winning, but personal accolades wise, hes fucking insane.
Looking at his bball reference you would think hes a top 10 player of the generation. Multiple All Nba teams, seasons with MVP votes, all star selections and hes like 7th in all time playoff PPG.
One of the best volume scorers ever
Imagine trading Luka.
For reference, SGA didn’t have his first career 50 point game until 2025, which is strangely the year all 5 of his 50 point games have happened, and he has a a career high of 55.
50 point games or mvps?
Lillard was a laserbeam.
He would have a bunch more if he wasn’t so bad at stat padding.
Who did they play against?
Tied for Kareem at 11th all time. Could easily enter top 5 all time in his career
108 away from tying Wilt. https://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/50-point-game-most-times.html
And none of them have rings.
goddamn harden
