But also you have people the ARE really dumb and make statements that seem like sarcasm, but aren’t

I do not understand all the comments in here saying it’s sarcasm. He literally doubles down on his stance later on in the press conference by saying “if they’re nuggets fans they should support us” instead of booing.
This is not a good look for Jok. He has gone from “I used to play in Serbia” to whatever this pathetic response is.
Agreed. Sentiment with the whole team was that of “how can they boo us in the home opener”. Interesting to see the difference between how the Philly team took it vs the Nuggets.
Jokic my favorite player by far, but I wasn’t a fan of this response. (Although this response itself seems a bit jokey, it’s his doubling down that’s the problem)
They’re saying it’s sarcasm because he said it in a clearly deadpan tone while smirking, and a bunch of reporters laughed in response. I.e. it was delivered as a joke. It just wasn’t really that funny. Hope this helps

Depends on the team like how high standards the fans hold the players but normally in general it is a more polite form of expressing unhappiness… Yes. Players can feel a way about it. But we all know Europeans can REALLY express their anger and dissapointment if the team plays under expectations.

I don’t really understand the outrage over his comments I’ve seen on the Nuggets sub. Fans are entitled to boo the players when they’re unhappy with their performance, but aren’t the players equally entitled to express their frustration with the fans? It seems like some people think it’s perfectly acceptable for fans to criticize Jokić, but when Jokić criticizes the fans, suddenly he’s crossed some enormous line. You can disagree with his take, but I don’t think it’s crazy.
Ultimately he’s using a little bit harsh wording to express a reasonable preference: that fans support the team through adversity when they’ve shown many times they fight through it.
