Yeah something like 150m on the bench I think.

Add Jimmy, Moody, and Porzingus..I don’t care how good they are/will be. But that’s a lot of salary cap sitting on the bench/hospital

We were playing with 15% of our salary so def not bad

Not watching draymond play 32 minutes to ptick up 7pts,5 reb, and 4 assists (3 to curry off backdoor cuts) is refreshing

We lived through the JK experience, we know what a selfish 18 year old with upside in the modern NBA is like on this team. Yax is a breath of fresh air

And he already has good physical tools for an NBA veteran. Like I get that it was a point of skepticism before he was drafted and only playing college kids, but now we see him against NBA players and he’s physically fine. So the age questions don’t really mean much anymore, until he gets to later contracts.

Was going to type the same thing. If any of these 19-20 year old rookies are producing like him when they hit 24, people would be saying they’re pretty good. It’s only been 3 games though. He definitely has to work on things that don’t work in the nba that did in college

Exactly.

I don’t give a shit that Kuminga was 19 when he came up or that he’s younger now. Chances are he will never be as good as Yaxel

I’m going to say more than 3-4 given there could be 3-4 alone this year as rookies. But some like Nate Ament will never be better because he’s just bad at basketball.

A 20 year old rookie with this production will also be on a 100m contract extension when they are 24.

Yaxel costs the same as the TPMLE. A hair over 6m. 4 years 28m total.

With all the crazy ncaa money and rules nowadays entering the league at bit older shouldn’t be as stigmatized as much imo.

Also, as a Warriors fan I wish we could have seen what Kuminga and Wiseman would have been like at 24 before they ever played a minute for us

There’s great value in older rookies in this new second-apron era—especially on teams trying to compete. Less maturing needed, typically more physically built for the NBA and their affordable contracts last into their prime.

And on the player’s side, there’s an opportunity to make money in college.

I think we’re going to see lots of “older” rookies in the future

I can name 3-4 that are 18-21 that are already better than him today, so probably a good handful of them.

Eh he definitely could still have tons of upside, he also could be closer to his max than we think. Obv not a 1:1 comparison but think of a player like Kuz who came in older and more polished than other rooks. He was getting compared to Tatum for a brief stretch (I don’t think he should’ve been) but he never really improved from what he came in the league as whereas Tatum kept ascending

Not trying to be a hater take btw fwiw i like his attitude and his game

He looks great but the reality is with him being 24 he’s closer to his ceiling than a 19 year old out of college.

Well he has less upside bc he’s 24. Just how it works. He’s good and this is a Yaxel thread so this will be downvoted but yes being an older prospect means the variance is lower; higher floor, lower ceiling.

But the problem is, his prime will be when curry is gone and golden state is even worse.

He also has only played competitive basketball since his senior year of high school. So yes he’s really old for a rookie, but he’s also got about the same (or even less) basketball experience and training as most rookies

I like all this drama. He just became the only three rookie I know this season beside No.1 and Boozer’s son

He started playing basketball very late and was never used properly before Michigan. He was primarily a center until last year

Very weird comment with Acuff, Wilson, Peterson, Boozer, AJ this year. There’s already at least 5 better than he is now.

I’m ngl though this happens all the time, old rookie comes in and instantly looks decent/good. Then he stagnates/gets figured out, bombs out of the league in a few years while younger players become stars. Chris Duarte made an all rookie team in his first year and has been out of the league for 2 seasons already at 29.

He has way less upside, higher floor but lower ceiling is what you expect from these types of players

Excluding this past draft, off the top of my head. Flagg, VJ, Castle, Kon and Harper, if you get it to 22 then you get a lot more dudes, and if you include this last draft, pretty much the T5 will probably need up being better than him.

Yaxel may be at his peak already and that’s ok, he’s probably the most nba ready guy from this past draft and landed on one of the few teams that needs that kind of player that can start running.

He’s putting up Chris Duarte numbers.

Dalton Kenect would never.

He is not a player you can build your team around for the future

Iirc he had character questions and that’s why he didn’t develop till 24.

Lol in their feelings

They really do and yet have the audacity to claim that this sub hates luka (of course they take anything less than saying he should have won the MVP last year as “hate”)

Lakers getting eliminated from the playoffs is consistent one of the most upvoted posts ever. Let’s calm down

I posted his statline the other day and got downvoted a ton.

I don’t give a shit if his team is losing and can’t win I care about his impressive stats and that he talks shit to established all time vets like Luka🔥 kid is a breath of fresh air so much upside as a 24 year old rookie 💯

Nice fan fic

He’s going to fill up the stat sheet. What was his ADP this year?

Over/under 40 games until the organization shuts him down for the season, when they are 12-28?

Steph will be tuning in?

Any chance to watch Steph play is a joy. Sucks that the team is no good, but I will never tire of watching him play

Team’s gonna be ass, but, hopefully, Yaxel will have a great, long, and healthy career with the Warriors

While I don’t think he’ll be a future star, I think hazel will most likely be the rocky of the year and a reliable star in the near future.

This is obviously assuming he doesn’t break his leg or something.

Edit: super star (all nba) vs all star lol.

Been their best player so far

Curry has had his moments. Yaxel has been the only one playing consistently well up to this point.

If a 3rd best player on a team can go off for 26/9/5 on any given night, thats a play-in team at worst.

Shit with the way steph has looked this year I’d say he’s the best

At this rate he might not even be 3rd for long if he keeps casually dropping 26 and hitting six threes a night.

Still haunted by the two timelines. Even looking at previous games they look like two different teams with the younger guys vs. the Steph Dray lineups

You can’t be the 2nd best on the team while not playing.

All because he called out that former fatass Luka for his anthics.

Of the legacy NBA franchises, their fanbase is insufferable

You know yaxel disrespected luka’s whole family with that statement

This sub gets made be doesn’t suck up to his co worker because people in this sub wish they were in his position to suck off his coworker

All I see is weirdo piston fans crying over a few comments lmao. Michigan fans are a bunch of babies.

It really is

Just wait until ebuka Okorie starts getting minutes, shits going to get real

I think he is just rushing it a bit to start the season. Maybe adrenaline or just adjustment to the speed.

In summer and preseason he was playing at a much slower pace around the rim and using his size plus touch to finish. That was maybe my favorite part of his game. He looked so calm and controlled.

Should see him find his rhythm eventually.

Probably good in terms of the odds but I think Boozer will just win. He’s practically won every single individual award at every stage of his career. He has one of the best pre-NBA resumes (college, high school, international) of all time for a non-European player and if his brother didn’t mess up, it would actually be the best since Kareem and that’s not an exaggeration.

I guess if you ignore efficiency and winning impact, maybe Caleb and Darius Acuff have a chance. AJ/Darryn play on too deep of teams which actually hurts them.

Me and my friends run like a prediction league for each season and ROTY is always one of my favorite things to try to guess.

I didn’t pick Yaxel, i picked Peterson, but one guy did go with him (tho that guy also chose Steph for mvp and wore a warriors hat)

Cash that out as soon as you can bro. He won’t finish the year in first, I promise you🤣

So if Yaxel talked shit to the media and during the game to your favorite player you would still like him? Or are only okay with Yaxel doing that to Luka?

same bro

First 20 comments are people complaining about haters that don’t actually exist in this thread

We got Joan who i give grace to for the same reason. How long has Yaxel been playing basketball?

It’s actually worse, he is this old because he wasn’t smart enough to get in the normal route so he had to do community college route.
