Eh it’s not just Cam though. It’s Cam, Spencer, Diallo, and Strawther. That means that we only have new guys coming off the bench. Literally only dudes that are still learning the system and everything.
It also means we lose 3 shooters, and 3 good defenders. Obviously this is still a bad performance, but I chalk it up to Jokic being beyond shit and lots of giving up a on rotations. I think you can say every player had a good game by the end maybe.

That being said there are very legitimate criticisms and concerns for this team from Murray’s struggle vs playoff defenses to Jokic defense to Nuggets having bad shooters and low 3pt volume to lack of athleticism on the roster

nah I like jokic but his effort in the first 3 quarters was abysmal, pels shot 87% at the rim in that time period.

Don’t let the stocks fool you. That first 3 quarters is one of the worst Jokic defensive performances I’ve ever seen. How this guy ended up with a game like this is beyond me. Genuinely thought my Goat was washed at first.
I feel like Denver have an absolute ton of these games at home where they play terrible against mid teams but somehow end up scamming a win from down 15 with 8-9 minutes left
100%. Good thing is they would’ve lost this last year. Somehow were one of the worst clutch teams in the league if I recall.

Saved himself a blitz tonight with how he looked in the first half but it’s hilarious he can’t be bothered to play defense the whole game with how he looked on that end in the second half.
He was quite good defensively in the 4th + OT, though. Great at the level when he wants to be because he’s so long with such great hands

He can’t hold that load for a full game with how much he also has to do offensively. Obviously he’s way way better at defending at the level and blitzing than he is as a drop defender, but drop is less taxing so he has to mix them in.
Would also help if Denver had some semblance of POA defense too. At least they seem to have gotten it spot on with Brazile, that guy is an athletic freak, can really rebound, and apparently also has shot-blocking plus passable shooting

Most players that carry the load Jokic does offensively are not defending at an elite level. He just happens to play the most valuable defensive position.

Pelicans were shooting like 85% in the paint through 3 quarters it would’ve gone down as a top 5 most despicable defensive performance from him if he didn’t turn it all the way around in the 4th onward
